A power seat slide device comprises a lower rail; an upper rail slidably engaged with the lower rail; an elongate threaded bolt member rotatably carried by the upper rail through first and second supporting members; a nut member connected to the lower and rail and meshed with the bolt member so that rotation of the bolt member about its axis induces a longitudinal movement of the upper rail relative to the lower rail; an electric power device for rotating the bolt member with an aid of electric power; a front shock absorbing member slidably mounted on the bolt member between the first supporting member and the nut member; and a rear shock absorbing member slidably mounted on the bolt member between the second supporting member and the nut member. When the upper rail moves to its rearmost position relative to the lower rail, the front shock absorbing member is compressed by the first supporting member and the nut member, and when the upper rail moves to its frontmost position relative to the lower rail, the rear shock absorbing member is compressed by the second supporting member and the nut member.

Power seat slide device

An automotive powered seat slide device including upper and lower guide rails, slidably fitted to each other, such that the position of the seat relative to the floor is adjusted frontwardly and rearwardly, includes a driving mechanism having a driven connection with an electric motor and a screw-threaded shaft rotatably mounted on the upper rail in an aperture defined in the slidably fitted pair of rails and a nut member engaged with the screw-threaded shaft and rigidly mounted on the lower rail for rotation relative to the screw-threaded shaft. One end of the screw-threaded shaft is rotatably supported by the upper rail, the other end of the screw-threaded shaft is constructed as a free end so as to permit a proper flexibility of the screw-threaded shaft. An elastomeric mass is also attached to the free end of the screw-threaded shaft, so as to prevent a direct contact between the free end and the inner wall of at least one of the upper and lower rails and to achieve an exact dynamic balance of the screw-threaded shaft.

Powered seat slide device

A powered seat slide device including at least one pair of guide rails for slidably supporting a seat such that the position of the seat relative to a floor is adjusted frontwardly and rearwardly, comprises a drive motor causing a relative sliding movement of one of the guide rails to the other, through a driving mechanism employing a gear box fixed to the one of the rails to serve as a reduction gear transmitting rotation torque from the motor to a screw-threaded shaft which is fixed onto the one of rails and engaged with a nut member rigidly mounted on the other rail for rotation relative to the screw-threaded shaft, while reducing a motor speed and increasing torque created by the motor, a motor mounting bracket formed integral with the gear box, for directly connecting the motor to the gear box, and an opening provided in the side wall of the one of rails, for avoiding the interference between the motor assembly and the guide rails.

A power seat slider comprises a gearbox with connecting mounting brackets integrally connected therewith. A mounting surface portion of the gearbox faces an inner wall of a seat slide rail and is provided with a positioning projection. Upper portions of each of the connecting mounting brackets are also provided with positioning projections to assure proper engagement between drive portions of the seat slider mechanism.

Power slider

A motor vehicle having a partition wall includes a seat having a seat cushion and a seatback. The seatback is located immediately adjacent to the partition wall with its back surface facing the partition wall. The seatback is formed at a laterally middle portion thereof with a through opening. An armrest is so sized as to fit into the through opening. A bracket is secured to the seatback laterally and extends across the through opening. The bracket is fastened to the partition wall with bolts and nuts. A covering plate is detachably disposed in the through opening to conceal the bracket.

Retractable center armrest for motor vehicles

A rear seat cushion for the seat of an automobile is movable from a riding position to an escaped position. A seat back for the seat can be tilted forward from its normal standing position to a stacked position in which it lays over the seat cushion or, when the seat cushion is in the escaped position, to a 'sunken' position in which it occupies the same space on the floor of the automobile that the seat cushion occupies in the riding position. A connector link of the hinge of the seat back has a unique arrangement of stops which allow the seat back to be maintained in each of its three positions without the need for the user to perform any locking operations. Also the seat back can be moved from one state to any of the others without any need for inconvenient unlocking operations of the hinge mechanism.

Automobile seat hinge

A vehicle seat for use with at least two seatbelt assemblies is disclosed. Each seatbelt assembly has a belt, a tongue member and a buckle member. The vehicle seat comprises a seat portion; a seatback portion having a recess; a receptacle member tightly received in the recess and having an opening which faces forward, the receptacle member being so sized as to receive therein the buckle members which are in overlapped condition.

Disclosed herein is a latch device for use in a foldable backrest of an automotive seat. The latch device comprises a striker secured to a fixed member other than the backrest; a base member secured to the backrest to move therewith; a latch member pivotally supported by the base member, the latch member being latchingly engageable with the striker when the backrest assumes a given raised position; biasing means for biasing the latch member in a direction to achieve a latched engagement between the latch member and the striker; a latch cancelling mechanism connected to the latch member for pivoting the latch member in a direction to release the striker when moved in a given direction; a one-way mechanism interposed between the latch cancelling mechanism and the latch member, the one way mechanism permitting only a transmission of movement from the latch cancelling mechanism to the latch member; and a stopper mechanism including a lever moved with the latch cancelling mechanism and stopper rod which is projectable into a position to interrupt the movement of the lever.

Latch device for foldable backrest of automotive seat

Herein disclosed is a latch device for latching an inclinable bark rest cushion to a seatback of a seat when the cushion is snugly received in a tunnel formed in the seatback. The latch device comprises a striker secured to the seatback, a latch member pivotally mounted in the cushion, a spring incorporated with the latch member to bias the same in a direction to achieve a latched engagement between the latch member and the striker, an actuation member pivotally mounted in the cushion in a manner to push and pivot the latch member in a releasing direction to cancel the latched engagement between the latch member and the striker when pivoted in a given direction, means having a pin portion which is projectable into a travelling way of the actuation member thereby to interrupt the actuation member from pivoting in the releasing direction, a base member secured to a rigid portion of the cushion and having an opening through which the pin portion passes, and a mechanism for manually actuating the pin portion from a back side of the back rest cushion.

Latch device for inclinable back rest cushion mounted in seatback

A latch device is disclosed which latches an inclinable back rest cushion to a seatback when the cushion is snugly received in a tunnel formed in the seatback. The latch device comprises a striker fixed to the seatback, a stationary base member fixed to the seatback, a spring-biased latch member pivotally connected to the base member and latchingly engageable with the striker, a pull strap fixed to the latch member and exposed to the passenger room to be manipulated from the passenger room, a movable base member movably mounted on the stationary base member, a lock member pivotally mounted on the movable base member and movable to a position to obstruct the pivoting movement of the latch member in the striker releasing direction, a lock member actuating member pivotally mounted on the movable base member and engageable, when pushed by the striker, with the lock member to move the same away from the travelling path of the latch member, a lock cancelling member movably mounted on the movable base member and moving the latch member in the striker releasing direction when moved in a given direction by a given distance, and a structure connected to the movable base member to move therewith. The structure has a manually controlled lever which is projected outward from a slot formed in a back portion of the back rest cushion to be operable from a trunk room of the vehicle.
