When bending a superconducting cable of a stack conductor structure in which a plurality of layers of tape wires are stacked, a twisting process is performed for the superconducting cable immediately before a bending portion of the superconducting cable.

Superconducting cable and installation method of the same

In a schlieren optical system, a laser beam is passed through the jet flow and the ambient around the jet flow, and a high speed sampling is performed using a high speed photo sensor while displacing measurement points. The value obtained by sampling represents a result of the optical path caused curved by a density gradient generated in an arc-shape from the center of the jet flow. The value is subjected to a high speed discrete Fourier transform and decomposed into frequency components which constitute the noise. Thereafter, Abel inversion is performed on data belonging to a particular frequency to obtain a density gradient in the radial direction from the center of the jet flow. The obtained density gradient is visualized in a graph display, so that the position of the sound source and the state of the jet flow can be accurately grasped.

Acoustic measurement device and acoustic measurement method

An air intake includes a spike and a cylindrical cowl. The spike is composed of a plurality of plates which are arranged axial symmetrically around a central axis thereof, and the cowl includes an inner wall parallel to the central axis and is formed so as to enclose a rear portion of the spike via a given space. The adjacent ones of the plates form respective aerodynamic compressive surfaces in spaces formed by the adjacent ones. The distances between the adjacent ones of the plates are variable, and the distance between the forefront of the spike along the central axis and the cowl is variable.

Air intake and method for breathing air using an air intake

Pressure and density of a gaseous mixture are increased in the process of introducing the gaseous mixture into the combustor of an air-breathing pulse detonation engine employing atmospheric oxygen as an oxidizer. The exit valveable to be opened and closed is provided at the outlet of the combustor, an air cooleris provided in the exit of the intake, and density is increased by exchange of heat of the air received at the intake with a coolant in the air cooler. Furthermore, by closing the exit valveprovided in the outlet of the combustor during the process of loading the gaseous mixture, transition to the detonation process is possible without expansion of the high-pressure high density air obtained by ram-compression at the intake.
