A passenger conveyor has a guardrail belt configured to run on a pair of right and left handrails in synchronization with footsteps; a camera provided at a platform of the handrail; and a control device configured to analyze an image obtained by photographing the platform with the camera, detect a passenger getting in from the platform, stop the footsteps or lower a running speed than a normal speed when detecting no passenger for a predetermined time, and move the running speed of the footsteps at the normal speed when detecting the passenger.

An RF tag includes an inlay comprising an IC chip and an antenna, a planar auxiliary antenna laminated on the inlay in an insulating state to the inlay, and a substrate on which the inlay and the auxiliary antenna are laminated. The auxiliary antenna is formed into a rectangular planar shape including long sides each having a length of substantially &#xbc; of a wavelength of a radio wave frequency of the inlay, and has a cutout part which divides one of the long sides into two parts each having a length of substantially &#x215b; of the wavelength of the radio wave frequency of the inlay. The cutout part is formed into a concave shape which is opened in an edge portion of the one of the long sides and has a predetermined width and depth to allow the IC chip of the inlay to be disposed therein.

Provided is an image pickup apparatus including a lens apparatus and a focus operating apparatus. The lens apparatus includes a focus lens unit, a focus driving unit for driving the focus lens unit, and a drive control unit controlling to drive the focus driving unit and having a autofocus function. The focus operating apparatus includes a manual focus (MF) operating unit for manual focus adjustment and an MF command unit for outputting a command value based on an operation amount of the MF operating unit. When the MF operating unit is in operation, the drive control unit controls the focus driving unit based on the command value from the MF command unit. When the MF operating unit is not in operation, the drive control unit controls the focus driving unit to perform autofocus adjustment.

A composite container lid which includes an inner cap fitted onto the container mouth portion by screw engagement, an over-cap fitted onto the inner cap, and an IC tag. The over-cap has a top panel and a skirt descending from the circumferential edge of the top panel. The inner cap has a top plate and a cylindrical wall descending from the circumferential edge of the top plate and has a thread formed in the inner surface thereof to come into screw engagement with the outer surface of the container mouth portion. The present invention provides an RFID tag substrate in which communication characteristics of an RFID tag do not vary by an influence of contents in a container, the communication characteristics of the RFID tag are not deteriorated even if a metal container is used, the communication characteristics of the RFID tag can be excellently maintained irrespective of a material or contents of a container, and the tag can be reduced in thickness/size, and which can use a general-purpose RFID tag as it is and is suitable for a microwave type RFID tag that uses a UHF band or a frequency band of, e.g., 2.45 GHz in particular. There is provided an RFID tag substrateon which an RFID tagthat performs wireless communication with a reader/writer is disposed, comprising: a substrate layer; and a functional layerformed of a high-dielectric-constant layerand a high-permeable layerhaving different characteristics, wherein the functional layer having predetermined relative dielectric constant and relative permeability is provided, and a product of the relative dielectric constant and the relative permeability is not smaller than 250.
