A fixing device includes a belt having a tubular shape and extending in a longitudinal direction, and having a longitudinal end, a drive roller to rotate the belt to convey a print medium between the drive roller and the belt, a bushing located at the longitudinal end of the belt, and a guide wall adjacent to the bushing. The belt is displaceable in the longitudinal direction relative to the bushing. The bushing includes a shoulder adjacent to the longitudinal end of the belt and a stem extending from the shoulder to an inside of the belt to support the belt. The guide guides the bushing to move in a direction opposite to a conveyance direction of the print medium when the belt moves toward the bushing. The stem of the bushing includes a convex portion that is in contact with an inner surface of the belt when the belt is displaced in the longitudinal direction.

An imaging system includes a toner image forming device and a gloss treatment device. The toner image forming device accommodates a color toner that forms a color toner image on a printing medium, and which accommodates a clear toner that forms a clear toner image on the printing medium. The clear toner has a wax content that is lower than a wax content of the color toner. The gloss treatment device melts the clear toner on the printing medium to apply gloss treatment to the printing medium including the color toner image and the clear toner image.

An image forming apparatus includes a fixing device that includes an endless belt to convey a print medium, a heating roller to heat the endless belt, a pressing roller that presses the endless belt against the heating roller along a nip region of the endless belt, and a conveyance switching device to move the endless belt between a first position that directs the print medium away from the endless belt when the print medium exits the nip region, and a second position that conveys the print medium to remain in contact with the endless belt when the print medium exits the nip region.

An imaging system includes a toner transfer device, a leveling device and a glossing device. The toner transfer device transfers gloss toner to a surface of a medium. The leveling device levels a layer of the gloss toner on the surface of the medium. A fixing device comprises a heating belt and a magnetic permeability detection device. The heating belt includes an endless belt having a metal layer and a heat source. The magnetic permeability detection device is located adjacent the heating belt to detect a magnetic permeability from the metal layer of the heating belt.

A fixing device includes a rotatable endless fixing belt, a heat source, a heat radiation plate, and a power supply. The fixing belt is operable between a non-expanded state and a thermally expanded state. The heat source is disposed adjacent the fixing belt, to heat the fixing belt. The heat radiation plate is adjacent the fixing belt to contact the fixing belt when the fixing belt is in the thermally expanded state as a result of being heated by the heat source. The power supply shutoff member adjacent the fixing belt to shut off the supply of power to the heat source based on a state of the fixing belt.

The controller controls current directions of currents in the first coil, the second coils, and the third coil.
