A method of manufacturing a battery pack including battery cells that have electrode tabs protruding from an outer surface includes stacking the battery cells and housing the battery cells in a case so that the electrode tabs protrude from slits in the case, bending the electrode tabs protruding from the slits so that the electrode tabs of adjacent battery cells are folded and overlap each other, and welding the folded and overlapping portion of the electrode tabs.

Method of manufacturing battery pack and battery pack

A battery pack includes stacked battery cells, each battery cell including a first outer surface having an electrode tab protruding therefrom and a second outer surface that is a side surface intersecting the first outer surface, and a first case that surrounds the battery cells along the first outer surface and the second outer surface. An opening exposing the electrode tab is formed in the first case. The opening includes an inner surface that faces a side surface of all of the electrode tabs exposed through the opening and that is capable of abutting against the electrode tabs when the battery cells are inserted in the first case.

Battery pack

A battery pack includes stacked battery cells housed between a first case and a second case. The battery cells each include an electrode tab protruding from a first outer surface. The first case and the second case are divided so as to sandwich the battery cells from a side surface of the electrode tab. The first case includes a housing portion configured to house at least a portion of the electrode tab and an abutting portion capable of abutting the side surface of the electrode tab of each battery cell when the electrode tab is inserted in the housing portion.

A method of manufacturing a battery pack including a plurality of battery cells that have electrode tabs protruding from an outer surface includes stacking the battery cells and housing the battery cells in a case so that the electrode tabs of adjacent battery cells are folded and overlap each other, and welding the electrode tabs together through a window of the case, the window being provided at a position opposite a folded and overlapping portion of the electrode tabs.

Productivity of an assembled battery is improved by shortening the takt time for assembly. An assembled battery () includes a battery module group (B) including one or more battery cells () and a cell holder () for holding the one or more battery cells (), and an auxiliary module group (S) including components () and a pedestal () on which the components () are arranged. The battery module group (B) and the auxiliary module group (S) are attached together by the pedestal () being fastened to the cell holder () with bus bars ().

Assembled battery

An assembled battery has improved reliability by facilitating and strengthening adhesive fixation of battery cells to a holder and a case and by accurately positioning electrode terminals. The assembled battery includes a battery cell () having a cap surface () and an opposing can bottom (), a holder () holding the battery cell (), a case () that engages with the holder () and houses the battery cell () together with the holder (), a first adhesive portion () adhering the battery cell () to the holder (), and a second adhesive portion () adhering the battery cell () to the case (). The first adhesive portion () is provided between edges of the cap surface () and corresponding portions of the holder (), and the second adhesive portion () is provided between a substantially central portion of the can bottom () and a corresponding portion of the case ().
