To provide an apparatus equipped with a battery terminal which ensures sufficient discharge capacity with reduced variations in contact resistance between electrodes of the battery and electrode armatures of the apparatus. An apparatus which is supplied with electric power from a battery, including a battery terminal which comes into contact with an electrode of the battery contained in a battery compartment and draws electric power from the battery, wherein the battery terminal is made of a conductive and elastic plate member bent to make a circuit, with both its ends juxtaposed to each other, has contacts which come into contact at both the ends with the battery electrode, and has a pair of claws which are formed at positions closer to the center of the plate member than are both the ends to pinch the battery by deflection of the plate member.

Apparatus

When the interior of an electronic camera is seen from the back of the camera, a storage medium chamber is located inside a grip part at the right part of a casing. A smart medium is inserted into and extracted from the storage medium chamber. An LCD is arranged at the left of the storage medium chamber, and the LCD and the storage medium chamber are arranged horizontally on a substrate. A metal shield member encloses the storage medium chamber. The shield member is integrated with a frame member that supports the LCD. The LCD is fixed to the substrate through the frame member. The frame member connects to a ground terminal of the substrate to thereby ground electronic circuits securely.

Portable electronic apparatus with flat display

In a portable electronic apparatus, control parts are concentrated in a small space, and they can be operated easily by one hand. A mode dial is provided on the back of a casing of the apparatus, at a position where the thumb of the right hand holding a grip part at the right of the casing is naturally positioned. A cross key is arranged at the left side of the mode dial. The cross key is used as a control key for selecting a variety of setting items and entering commands to change the settings. A menu/execution key for fixing the items and settings selected/changed with the cross key is arranged at the lower left of the cross key. It is therefore possible to perform a sequence of operations by moving the thumb efficiently.

Portable electronic apparatus

A front chassis and a rear chassis of an electronic camera are made of light transmissible resin. The electronic camera has a plurality of light-shielding elements to prevent unnecessary light (external ambient light and internally emitted light, for example) from entering optical systems such as taking lenses and light guides which guide light to an electronic flash control sensor. Further, the shielding elements prevent unnecessary light from entering photoelectric converters such as imaging devices and electronic flash control sensors. These light shielding elements enables the interior components of the camera to be visible therethrough, while ensuring that operational functions of the electronic camera are not adversely affected by entering unnecessary light.

Electronic camera with light transmissible resin body

A camera grip which is removably mounted to the bottom portion of a camera. The camera grip includes a base block removably mounted to the camera bottom portion, an arm block rotatably mounted to the base block by means of a first shaft, a grip block rotatably mounted to the arm block by means of a second shaft spaced apart from the first shaft, and lock means for locking the arm and grip blocks at their predetermined rotational positions respectively. By changing the rotational positions to be locked by means of the lock means, the grip can be thinly or compactly stored in the camera bottom portion as well as the shape of the grip can be changed in such a manner that it can be used as an under grip, a carrying handle and a tripod.
