A liquid crystal display device has a framework which includes a first frame for supporting a liquid crystal panel, a second frame having an upper portion for covering a peripheral portion of the surface of the liquid crystal panel and a side extending substantially parallel to the side of the first frame, and third members being in the form of clips detachably attached to the side of the first frame. The second frame is fixed to the first frame via the third members. The liquid crystal display device also includes a mechanism for changing the angle of the display.

Liquid crystal display device having small picture frame region

A display apparatus comprises a display element, a backlight apparatus provided behind the display element and having a metal case, and a housing accommodating the display element and the backlight apparatus. In the display apparatus, electric wires for providing power to the backlight apparatus extend between the metal case of the backlight apparatus and the housing, and at least one opening is provided in the metal case in a part where the electric wires extend.

A liquid crystal display device includes first and second frame members, between which a light source device, a metal body supporting the light source device, a frame-like cover covering the peripheral region of the light source device, and a liquid crystal display element are held by the cover. The first frame member covers the peripheral region of the liquid crystal display element and has hooks for engagement with the recess in metal body. Therefore, the metal body, the light source device, the cover, the liquid crystal display element, and the first frame member are assembled and fastened together by the engagement of the hooks with the metal body. This assembly can be coupled to the second frame member. Straight metal members can be arranged between the first frame member and the driving ICs on the liquid crystal display element.

A liquid crystal display unit having a liquid crystal display element is accommodated in a housing having an opening for exposing the display portion of the display element to the exterior. The housing comprises a display face cover and a rear cover and the liquid crystal display unit is mounted directly relative to the display face cover. A positioning pin is provided so as to extend out from the display face cover in order to position the liquid crystal display unit relative to the display face cover, and a positioning hole, which engages the positioning pin, is provided on the liquid crystal unit.

A light valve is loaded with a liquid crystal display element and electronic components which drive the liquid crystal display element. The light valve further has in a periphery thereof input terminal parts to which signals for driving the liquid crystal display element are supplied. A flexible circuit substrate is connected with the input terminal parts. The circuit substrate is divided into a plurality of division substrates, a number of the plurality of division substrates corresponding to a number of the input terminal parts. The plurality of division substrates are electrically connected with each other.
