A cosmetic raw material using a vinyl polymer containing carbosiloxane dendritic structures and fluorinated organic group as the main or most important ingredient, a cosmetic product obtained by compounding with the cosmetic raw material, and a method for manufacturing a cosmetic product, in which said cosmetic raw material is mixed with other cosmetic raw materials. The cosmetic raw material exhibits superior compounding stability in cosmetic products and capable of imparting excellent feel and surface protective properties to cosmetic products. The cosmetic product exhibits superior adhesion to the hair and skin.

Stable vinyl copolymer emulsions are capable of forming strongly water repellent and highly water resistant films and coatings, and can be used as paint or coating additives. They are highly compatible with paint and coating compositions. The vinyl copolymer emulsions are produced by emulsion polymerizing (A) 50-99.9 weight percent of a vinyl monomer, (B) 0.1-50 weight percent of a branched organosilicon compound bearing a radically polymerizable organic group, where the sum of components (A) and (B) is 100 weight percent, and (C) a radically polymerizable surfactant used at 0.1-20 weight parts per 100 weight parts of the total amount of components (A) and (B).

Vinyl copolymer emulsion

The present invention provides a highly storage-stable silicone-grafted vinyl copolymer emulsion composition that can produce films and coatings that are highly water repellent, water resistant, adhesive, and printable, the composition including (A) vinyl monomer, (B) carbosiloxane dendrimer that contains a radically polymerizable organic group, (C) surfactant, and (D) radical polymerization initiator.

Silicone-grafted vinyl copolymer emulsion composition

A highly weathering-resistant coating material exhibits an excellent water resistance and water repellency. A water repellent for treating solids provides an durable and robust water repellency. The active ingredient in the water repellent is a pendant carbosiloxane dendrimer-functional vinyl-type polymer. A spray-formulated water repellent for treating solids contains 0.5 to 20 weight % of the pendant carbosiloxane dendrimer-functional vinyl-type polymer, 30 to 98.5 weight % of an organic solvent, and 1 to 50 weight % of a propellant gas.

The present invention relates to a fiber treatment composition comprising (A) 100 weight parts of a dimethylpolysiloxane having a viscosity at 25.degree. C. of 2 to 100 mm.sup.2 /s, (B) 1 to 20 weight parts of a metal salt of a fatty acid having from 10 to 20 carbon atoms, and (C) 0.05 to 10 weight parts of at least one organopolysiloxane resin comprising SiO.sub.4/2 units and R.sub.3 SiO.sub.1/2 units wherein R denotes a monovalent hydrocarbon group. The fiber treatment compositions of this invention have excellent dispersion stability and impart superior smoothness and antistick characteristics to fibers and is especially useful in treating spandex fibers.

Fiber treatment compositions

The present invention relates to a fiber treatment composition comprising a mixture of a dimethylpolysiloxane, a polyoxyalkylene-functional diorganopolysiloxane, and an amine-containing antioxidant or a phenol-containing antioxidant. The fiber treatment compositions of this invention exhibit excellent lubricity, static resistance, and long-term storage stability.
