An inductor array includes a magnetic base body having first and second surfaces opposed to each other and a third surface connecting between the first and second surfaces, and also includes first and second end internal conductors having the same shape. The first end internal conductor includes first-end first conductor portions and fewer first-end second conductor portions, alternating with and being connected to each other. The second end internal conductor includes second-end first conductor portions and fewer second-end second conductor portions, alternating with and being connected to each other. The first-end first conductor portions are positioned away from the first surface by a first end distance in a reference axis direction and face the first surface. The second-end second conductor portions are positioned away from the second surface by a second end distance less than the first end distance in the reference axis direction and face the second surface.

Inductor array, circuit board, and electronic device

An inductor array of the invention includes a magnetic base body, a first internal conductor within the base body, and a second internal conductor adjacent to the first internal conductor. The first and second internal conductors are arranged along a reference axis. The base body includes an inter-conductor region between the first and second internal conductors. The inter-conductor region has a first section cut along a reference plane including the reference axis, and a first reference axis direction dimension of the first section in the reference axis direction may be less than double a shortest distance between the first internal conductor and a surface of the base body in the reference plane. A first aspect ratio of the first section, which is a ratio of a first orthogonal direction dimension in a direction orthogonal to the reference axis to the first reference axis direction dimension, may be less than 1.

Inductor array

One object is to provide a magnetic body having a high mechanical strength. A magnetic body according to one embodiments of the present invention includes: first particles of a first alloy containing Fe and Cr; second particles of a second alloy containing at least one of Al or Mn; and bonding portions containing at least one of Al oxide or Mn oxide, the bonding portions bonding the first particles to each other. The bonding portions containing at least one of Al oxide or Mn oxide increase the mechanical strength of the magnetic body.

Magnetic body, coil component including magnetic body, and method of manufacturing magnetic body

A magnetic coupling coil component according to one or more embodiments of the invention includes a magnetic base body, a first and second conductors disposed in a through-hole of the magnetic base body, and a non-magnetic portion disposed between the first and second conductors and having a relative magnetic permeability smaller than that of the magnetic base body. The magnetic base body has a mounting surface and the through-hole connecting first and second openings in the mounting surface. One end the first conductor is exposed through the first opening and the other end is exposed through the second opening. The second conductor is disposed at a position spaced away from the first conductor toward inside of the magnetic base body and is opposed to the first conductor. One end of the second conductor is exposed through the first opening and the other end is exposed through the second opening.

Magnetic coupling coil component

A method of manufacturing a coil component includes providing an intermediate body, heating the intermediate body at a first temperature ranging from 100 to 350° C., and after the heating at the first temperature, heating the intermediate body at a higher second temperature ranging from 600 to 900° C. The providing of the intermediate body including (i) preparing a base material having a flat plate shape or a wire shape, (ii) bending the base material to form a conductor portion, (iii) preparing a metal magnetic paste containing a resin and a plurality of metal magnetic particles mainly composed of iron, and (iv) applying a molding pressure to the metal magnetic paste covering the base material to form the intermediate body including a substrate body containing the plurality of metal magnetic particles and the conductor portion. The magnetic base body including an oxide coating film containing iron oxide on a surface of each of the metal magnetic particles.

Method of manufacturing coil component

A coil component according to one embodiment of the present invention includes: a first insulator body containing first magnetic metal particles; a second insulator body containing second magnetic metal particles; a first coil conductor provided in the first insulator body and wound around a coil axis for Nturns such that intervals between adjacent turns are g; and a second coil conductor provided in the second insulator body and wound around the coil axis for Nturns such that intervals between adjacent turns are g. In the embodiment, a first coil surface of the first coil conductor faces a second coil surface of the second coil conductor, and a distance T between the first coil surface and the second coil surface satisfies a relationship T≥g×N+g×N

A coil component includes an insulating base body and a coil conductor arranged in the base body and having a winding portion extending around a coil axis. The insulating base body includes a magnetic body portion made of a magnetic material and a magnetic gap portion made of a low-permeability material having a lower relative permeability than the magnetic material. The magnetic gap portion is shaped like a ring when seen in a direction along the coil axis and arranged within the winding portion. The magnetic body portion includes a first region positioned within the winding portion, a second region positioned opposite the first region with respect to the magnetic gap portion in the direction along the coil axis, and a third region arranged within a through hole defined by an inner peripheral surface of the magnetic gap portion, where the third region connects together the first and second regions.

Coil component

A coil component includes: a laminated body containing a plurality of metal magnetic particles; and a coil conductor provided in the laminated body so as to contact with the laminated body and wound around a coil axis, wherein the laminated body has an insulating portion including a non-metal magnetic particle region defined by at least three of the plurality of metal magnetic particles in a sectional surface of the laminated body, and wherein in the insulating portion, an atomic percent of Si is highest among those of materials constituting the non-metal magnetic particle region other than oxygen.

An inductor according to one embodiment includes: a base body having a mounting surface, a top surface, and a first end surface; first and second external electrodes provided to the mounting surface and spaced from each other; and an conductor disposed inside the base body. One end of the conductor is exposed from the mounting surface and connected to the first external electrode, and the other end of the conductor is exposed from the mounting surface and connected to the second external electrode. The base body is partitioned into a first region and a second region, the first region being enclosed by the conductor and the mounting surface, and a ratio of an area of the second region to an area of the first region is 0.95 to 1.0. The conductor contains a conductive material having a higher electric conductivity than a material of the first external electrode.

Inductor

A method of manufacturing a coil component includes providing an intermediate body including a conductor portion formed by bending a base material mainly composed of a metal having a lower ionization tendency than iron and a substrate body containing metal magnetic particles mainly composed of iron and surrounding at least part of the conductor portion, heating the intermediate body at a first temperature to form an oxide film containing an oxide of the metal that covers a surface of the conductor portion, and after the heating at the first temperature, heating the intermediate body at a higher second temperature to form an oxide coating film containing iron oxide on a surface of each metal magnetic particles so that the substrate body is formed into a magnetic base body, to form the oxide film into an insulating oxide layer containing iron oxide and the metal, and to anneal the conductor portion.

An inductor according to one embodiment of the present invention includes: a base body having a mounting surface, a top surface, and a first end surface; first and second external electrodes attached to the mounting surface and spaced from each other; and an internal conductor disposed in the base body and extending linearly from the first external electrode to the second external electrode. One end of the internal conductor is exposed from the mounting surface and connected to the first external electrode, and the other end of the internal conductor is exposed from the mounting surface and connected to the second external electrode. The base body is partitioned into a first region and a second region, the first region being enclosed by the internal conductor and the mounting surface, and a ratio of an area of the second region to an area of the first region is 0.95 to 1.0.

Laminated coil component

A coil component includes: a magnetic body part and a cover part covering one side of a magnetic layer part; and a coil part embedded in the magnetic body part. The magnetic body part is comprised of the following two types of layers: (A) an oblate soft magnetic grain-containing layer, and (B) a spherical grain-containing layer, wherein layer (A) extends over the entire range of the magnetic body part except for a portion including the coil part in a direction perpendicular to an axis direction of the coil part, layer (B) adjoins layer (A) in the axis direction. The cover part is constituted by multiple layers including one or more of layer(s) (A) and one or more of layer(s) (B) and extending over the entire range of the magnetic body part in the direction perpendicular to the axis direction.

A coil component according to one embodiment of the present invention includes: a base body having a plurality of magnetic layers; a first external electrode provided on the base body; a second external electrode provided on the base body and spaced from the first external electrode; a coil conductor provided in the base body; a first lead-out conductor including a first lead-out conductor first pattern and a first lead-out conductor second pattern; and a second lead-out conductor connecting a second end of the coil conductor and the second external electrode. The first lead-out conductor first pattern is provided between the magnetic layers so as to be connected to a first end of the coil conductor and the first external electrode. The first lead-out conductor second pattern is provided between the magnetic layers so as to be connected to the first lead-out conductor first pattern and the first external electrode.

An inductance element includes: an insulative substrate body of a rectangular solid shape having length dimension L, height dimension H, and width dimension W, where 1.5&#x2264;W/H; at least one internal conductor built in the substrate body and capable of making an electrical current flow therethrough in one uniform direction orthogonal to a cross-section of the substrate body; and a pair of external electrodes provided on the surface of the substrate body in a manner respectively connected to both ends of the internal conductor, so that the internal conductor can make an electrical current flow therethrough in the one uniform direction; wherein, in the cross-section of the substrate body, a rectangular internal conductor region having height dimension Eh and width dimension Ew surrounds the internal conductor in a manner contacting the outermost positioned portions of the internal conductor in the height and width directions, wherein Ew/Eh&#x3e;W/H.
