A method for controlling injection molding using a neural network in a control device of an injection molding machine. A measurement monitor value is acquired in a measurement step during test injection molding and an injection monitor value is acquired in an injection step. The acquired measurement monitor value is designated as an input term and the injection monitor value is designated as an output term. A prediction function that incorporates the measurement monitor value is then determined using the neural network. A first value corresponding to the injection monitor value is predicted by substituting into the prediction function a measurement monitor value acquired at completion of a measurement step during mass-production injection molding. On the basis of the predicted first value, a second value corresponding to an injection condition is determined. Injection control and pressure maintenance control are then implemented on the basis of the second value corresponding to the injection condition.

Injection molding control method

A support apparatus of an injection-molding machine has a neural network that receives test molding data corresponding to molding conditions and a quality value obtained by measuring a non-defective molded article, and that determines a quality prediction function based on the received test molding data. A computer calculates a predicted value of the quality value using the quality prediction function. An input apparatus inputs into the neural network fixed values for the molding conditions except for a selected at least one of the molding conditions, and inputs a target value of the quality value. A graph generator generates a graphical relationship between the selected at least one molding condition and the predicted value. A graph correction unit corrects the graphical relationship generated by the graph generator on the basis of the target value. A display unit selectively displays the graphical relationship generated by the graph generator and the graphical relationship corrected by the graph correction unit.

Test molding and mass-production molding are performed by an injection molding machine that includes a control apparatus in which neural networks are used. A quality prediction function determined based on the test molding is revised as necessary during mass-production molding.

Control apparatus for injection molding machine

Molding conditions of an injection molding machine are set through performance of virtual molding by CAE. First, actual molding is performed under provisional molding conditions in order to obtain an actual profile showing variation in load pressure actually measured during at least an injection step of the actual molding. Further, virtual molding is performed by CAE under the provisional molding conditions in order to obtain a virtual profile showing variation in load pressure simulated during at least an injection step of the virtual molding. The provisional molding conditions are changed by CAE in such a manner that the virtual profile coincides with the actual profile, to thereby obtain intermediate molding conditions. Subsequently, the intermediate molding conditions are optimized so as to obtain molding conditions for the injection molding machine.

Molding-condition setting method for an injection molding machine

In a method for controlling an injection molding machine, a screw is advanced from an injection start position by means of velocity control, and when the screw reaches a control changeover point, pressure control is effected in place of the velocity control to apply pressure to the screw. Preliminary molding is performed to obtain an acceptable product; a total charged amount of resin during the preliminary mold is obtained on the basis of a movement distance over which the screw has moved before reaching the control changeover point during the preliminary mold; and the total charged amount is stored as a changeover target value. During ordinary molding, a total charged amount of resin is obtained on the basis of a movement distance over which the screw advances from the injection start position; and pressure control is started when the total charged amount reaches the changeover target value. Thus, the total amount of resin charged into a mold cavity in each molding cycle becomes constant without being affected by the charging pressure and temperature of the resin.

Method for controlling injection molding machine

A screw injecting apparatus includes a check valve mounted on the tip end portion of a screw and adapted to be opened and closed in response to rotation of the screw, and a control for controlling operation of the screw such that in a metering phase of molding process, the screw rotates in one direction to feed a melt of molding material toward the nozzle while the check valve is in an open state, when a metered amount of melt is accumulated forward of the tip end portion, the screw moves backward by a predetermined distance to reduce a reaction from the melt accumulated around the tip end portion, thereafter, the screw rotates in the reverse direction to close the check valve and cause the screw to advance until the amount of forward movement of the screw becomes substantially equal to the predetermined distance of backward movement achieved previously.

An injection screw comprise a rear end to a front end of an effective length of the screw compartmented in the order of a feed zone, a compression zone and a metering zone, wherein the metering zone is constituted by the first metering zone, the second metering zone and the relaxation zone. A root diameter of the second metering zone is formed in a smaller diameter than a root diameter of the first metering zone and a screw channel depth is set deeper than a screw channel depth of the first metering zone. Variations in a resin temperature at injecting is solved and melting and kneading through a entire screw further are improved by only partial changing of the configuration of the metering zone.

A protecting apparatus of an injection molding machine having an injection of cylinder 2r with a built-in double rod type piston, and a servo valve for driving and controlling the injection cylinder includes a power failure detecting circuit for detecting a power failure, and a power-failure-time signal outputting circuit Ub for outputting a neutral signal, by which the servo valve is controlled at a neutral signal, by which the servo valve is controlled at a neutral position, to an instruction signal input line for the servo valve, due to the detection of the power failure by the power failure detecting circuit. A power-failure-time shutting down circuit is connection to the oil transferring line for supplying pressurized oil to the injection cylinder. The power-failure-time shutting down circuit includes a control valve for opening the oil transferring at the time of the non-power failure, and for shutting down the oil transferring line at the time of the power failure. Thereby, even if the power failure occurs in the state when the purging cover is closed at a time of positional control in the unguarded state a problem where the resin is ejected at high speed can be presented.

Protecting device of an injection molding machine

A first direction shifting valve adapted to supply pressurized hydraulic oil to a hydraulic chamber on the rearward displacement side and discharge hydraulic oil from the hydraulic chamber on the rearward displacement side, and moreover, discharge hydraulic oil from a hydraulic chamber on the forward displacement side is disposed in a hydraulic path extending between a hydraulic pump and an injection cylinder. In addition, a second direction shifting valve adapted to supply pressurized hydraulic oil to a chamber on the forward displacement side is disposed in the foregoing hydraulic path. Additionally, a third direction shifting valve is disposed to build a bleeding-off circuit in cooperation with the second direction shifting valve. While a hydraulic path on the rearward displacement side is blocked by the third direction shifting valve, a hydraulic path on the forward displacement side is hydraulically connected to the tank side. When the third direction shifting valve is shifted to the opposite side so that the hydraulic path on the rearward displacement side is hydraulically connected to the tank side and the hydraulic path on the forward displacement side is blocked by the third direction shifting valve, an injection molding operation can be started. With such construction, a rising time of each injection molding operation can be shortened while pressurized hydraulic oil is preliminarily exerted on the hydraulic chamber on the forward displacement side under the bleeding-off condition.

Method of shortening a rising time of each injection-molding operation

A data processing method of an injection molding machine detects predetermined physical amounts, for example, filling velocities V1, V2 and V3 relative to operations of a plurality of injection apparatuses successively when different materials to be molded are injected into a cavity of a single mold from a plurality of injection apparatuses to fill the cavity so that molding is performed, calculates a characteristic data concerning the sum total of the detected filling velocities V1, V2 and V3, and processes data on the basis of the characteristic data. The axis of abscissa of the characteristic data can take a time or a total capacity of the material successively filled into the mold. The data processing includes display processing for displaying the characteristic data with a graph and the displayed characteristic data is utilized for setting the molding condition and the data analysis.
