A display device includes: a resin layer on the circuit layer including a groove surrounding and separating a display area; light-emitting elements on an upper surface of the resin layer so as to emit light with luminances controlled by the currents; a sealing layer covering the light-emitting elements; a second substrate above the sealing layer; a sealing material provided between the sealing layer and the second substrate so as to surround the display area and the groove; and a filling layer surrounded by the sealing material between the sealing layer and the second substrate. The groove is formed along a line describing a shape that is inscribed in a rectangle and not in contact with corners of the rectangle as viewed in a direction vertical to the upper surface of the resin layer.

A display device includes a plurality of layers stacked such that outer edges thereof coincide with each other at both ends in at least one of a first direction and a second direction that are orthogonal to each other and each layer including holes communicating in the stacking direction at a plurality of positions, and a resin continuously filled in the holes over the entirety of the plurality of layers. The plurality of layers include a display panel including a display area. The display panel includes the corresponding holes outside the display area. The holes of the plurality of layers are displaced in a plan view, as compared with the matching accuracy of the outer edges.

A display device includes: a flexible display including a flexible substrate and a plurality of light emitting elements provided on the flexible substrate; an adhesive layer; and a film attached to the flexible display with the adhesive layer. The adhesive layer is provided avoiding a plurality of blank areas linearly arranged in at least one direction on a surface of the flexible display.

A display device includes: a TFT substrate; a counter substrate; a flat bonding member bonding the TFT substrate and the counter substrate at a display area and an additional function area; and a bent bonding member bonding the TFT substrate and the counter substrate at a peripheral area outside the display area and a peripheral area outside the additional function area, the bent bonding member including a bonding interface at which a shear stress occurs due to the bending of the TFT substrate and the counter substrate. The bent bonding member has a deformation allowance in a direction of the shear stress greater than that of the flat bonding member.

A display device includes a first substrate having a display area and a first peripheral area, a second substrate having a second peripheral area, a first filler between the first substrate and the second substrate, and a first adhesive outside the first filler. The first adhesive bonds the first peripheral area and the second peripheral area. The first substrate has a first bent portion in the first peripheral area. A method for producing a display device includes forming a resin film on a substrate, forming a plurality of light emitting elements above the resin film, forming a plurality of first grooves in a surface of the resin film, the plurality of first grooves enclosing the plurality of light emitting elements individually in a multiple-fold manner, cutting the substrate at a position overlapping any one of the plurality of first grooves other than the first groove closest to one of the plurality of light emitting elements, and peeling off the substrate from the resin layer.
