A medical device includes a snare wire advanceable and retractable inserted through a channel in an insertion portion that is inserted through an endoscope; a substantially tubular cap member including a first portion and a second portion connected to a distal end of the insertion portion, the cap member having an annular distal end surface, the first portion being attachable to the distal end of the insertion portion in phase with the channel, and the cap member having an internal space formed by the first portion and the second portion; and a guide member being linearly extended along an internal surface of the distal end side of the cap member at a side of the second portion, the guide member being configured to guide the snare wire to form a loop and to restrict a retraction of the snare wire toward the side of the insertion portion.

A method used to mark a tubular organ of a subject. In a first step, at a position near a lesion on a wall surface of the tubular organ, a first electrode is supplied with high-frequency current, so that the first electrode punctures the wall surface from a surface of a mucosal layer on the wall surface to a predetermined depth. In a second step, the first electrode is supplied with the high-frequency current for a predetermined time such that a first marking is made by cauterization on a muscle layer. In a third step, a second electrode, which is disposed coaxially with the first electrode, is supplied with high-frequency current for a predetermined time such that a second marking is made by cauterization on the surface of the mucosal layer. During the third step, the first electrode is held as is after the second step.

A method for suturing a gastric wall including: inserting a flexible elongated loop-forming member perorally into a stomach; advancing the loop-forming member along a lesser curvature line of the stomach to contact with the gastric wall in vicinity of the pyloric antrum, such that the loop-forming member returns along a greater curvature line of the stomach to a predetermined position and connects to a distal end portion of an overtube to form a closed loop in the stomach; suctioning air from the stomach after forming the closed loop such that an anterior gastric wall is in proximity with a posterior gastric wall within a region encircled by the closed loop; and suturing at least a portion of the anterior gastric wall to the posterior gastric wall that are in proximity in the region encircled by the closed loop.

Method for suturing a gastric wall

Provided is a tissue excision method that excises a partial tissue within an excision region set in a hollow organ over an entire thickness direction. The tissue excision method includes a first process of gripping a peripheral edge portion of the excision region from the inside of the hollow organ; a second process of moving the portion and drawing the folded hollow organ into a slit with a predetermined width; a third process of suturing a part located outside the excision region so as to be integral over the thickness direction; and a fourth process of cutting the portion of the drawn hollow organ along the peripheral edge of the excision region. In the second process, a portion of a fluid within the hollow organ is moved out of the hollow organ to keep the internal pressure within a fixed range while drawing the portion of the hollow organ.
