A quartz glass provides an opaque quartz glass having high light-shielding property, excellent mechanical strength and excellent cleaning resistance against hydrofluoric acid. By setting the maximum width of the amorphous bubbles existing in the opaque quartz glass to an average of 3 to 15 μm and the density to 2.15 g/cmor more, the mechanical strength after baking and the cleaning resistance by hydrofluoric acid are improved. The opaque quartz glass has a whiteness at a thickness of 10 mm of 75 to 90%, the reflectance of light with a wavelength of 0.24 to 2.6 μm at a thickness of 4 mm is 60 to 85%, and the bending strength after baking is 95 MPa. In addition, a foaming agent may be mixed in the opaque quartz glass. An opaque quartz glass having cleaning resistance against acid can be obtained.

An IC is mounted on a printed board. A radiator made of copper is arranged on the printed board so as to surround the IC and is fastened onto the printed board by screws provided on the back surface of the board. The central portion of a ceiling on the inner surface of the radiator protrudes downward and the lower surface of the protrusion becomes a contact surface contacting with the IC. Heat-conducting rubber is also provided on the lower portions of the radiator, i.e., portions at which the radiator contacts with the printed board. With this arrangement, a heat radiating member for the heat generating device having high radiation effect can be obtained.

A notebook type information processing apparatus includes a display and an apparatus body. The display has a screen on one side for displaying data, a support supporting the screen rotatably, a first connector provided on the bottom of the support and connectable to the apparatus body mechanically and electrically, and a latch that is rotatable 180 degrees for locking the display to the apparatus body in either a normal position or an inverted position. The apparatus body has a groove engageable with the support and located at the rear of a keyboard, a second connector positioned in the groove and connectable to the first connector mechanically and electrically, a pair of rotatable levers engageable with opposite ends of the support for locking the display, a control section for generating control signals meant for the screen, a position detecting circuit for determining whether the display is mounted in the normal or inverted positions, and a selector circuit for selectively outputting the control signals from the control section on the basis of the output of the detecting circuit. Hence, the apparatus allows the user to enter data and commands with a pen easily, reduces the fatigue of the user's arm, and allows the entering operation to be continued for a long time.
