A blower apparatus includes an impeller and a casing that accommodates the impeller. The casing includes an upper wall including an intake port, a lower wall, a side wall that includes an exhaust port, and a tongue portion connected to the upper wall. The side wall includes a first side wall, and a second side wall disposed downstream in a rotational direction of the impeller relative to the first side wall via the exhaust port. The tongue portion extends from the second side wall toward the first side wall, and includes a lower portion opposed to the lower wall. The lower portion includes a first lower portion on the base end side and a second lower portion on the tip side. A distance between the first lower portion and the lower wall is shorter than a distance between the second lower portion and the lower wall.

Blower apparatus and automotive air conditioner

A blower fan includes an impeller centered on a central axis, a motor portion arranged to rotate the impeller about the central axis, and a housing arranged to accommodate the impeller. The housing includes a lower plate portion arranged to cover a lower side of the impeller and a side wall portion arranged to cover a side of the impeller. The lower plate portion is preferably made of, for example, a steel sheet. The side wall portion is preferably made of, for example, a resin. A lower end portion of the side wall portion and an edge portion of the lower plate portion are preferably joined to each other through insert molding. An outer circumferential cut surface of the lower plate portion is arranged in contact with the side wall portion at a joint between the lower end portion of the side wall portion and the edge portion of the lower plate portion.

Centrifugal fan and method for manufacturing the same

A heat sink fan of the present invention includes a heat sink and a fan. The heat sink includes a base having a center axis and a plurality of fins extending radially outwardly from an outer circumference of the base and disposed in a circumferential direction. The fan includes an impeller portion disposed adjacently to the heat sink in the direction along the center axis, the impeller portion rotating about the center axis, and a frame portion for covering and fixing the impeller portion, part of the frame portion being opposed to the heat sink. The frame portion has at least one protruding portion. The protruding portion enters into a space between the fins which are adjacent to each other.

Heat sink fan

An impeller in a centrifugal fan includes a support portion having a cylindrical outer circumferential surface coaxial or substantially coaxial with a center axis and a plurality of moving blades arranged on the outer circumferential surface of the support portion independently of one another and configured to draw an air along the center axis and expel the air radially outwards when rotated about the center axis together with the support portion. At least one of the moving blades includes a first blade portion connected to, and extending radially outwards from, the outer circumferential surface of the support portion, at least one second blade portion having a radial inner end portion radially spaced apart from the outer circumferential surface of the support portion and a connecting member arranged to interconnect the first blade portion and the second blade portion.

Impeller and centrifugal fan

An axial fan having a rotatable impeller is arranged above a heat sink with a rotation axis of the impeller substantially coincident with a center axis of a base portion of the heat sink. Radially outer ends of fins arranged on the outer peripheral surface of the base station define an envelope which is provided with a recess therein. The axial fan has a hosing including a surrounding portion surrounding the impeller and arms extending from the surrounding portion. Each arm is provided with an engagement portion engaging with the recess of the heat sink, so that the axial fan is secured to the heat sink. Each arm also has an attachment portion at its lower end. At the attachment portion, an assembly of the axial fan and the heat sink is attached to a motherboard with an object to be cooled mounted thereon.

Heat sink

A heat sink for dissipating a heat from an object includes a plurality of fins. The fins are arranged radially about a center axis to be spaced away from one another, and extend outward in a radial direction substantially perpendicular to the center axis. Each fin is branched at at least two different positions in the radial direction into at least three fin end portions spaced away from one another.

Heat sink and cooling apparatus

A heat dissipating device which dissipates heat generated by a heat generating object mounted on a base includes a heat sink body, a heat-conducting area, a tip portion, an inclined surface, and a fastener. The heat-conducting area includes the tip portion, which is a substantially middle portion of the heat-conducting area and is arranged substantially closest to the heat generating object among the other areas of the heat-conducting area, and the inclined surface which is a part of the heat-conducting area and inclines outwardly from the tip portion such that a distance between the inclined surface and the heat generating object gradually increases. The fastener includes an attaching portion to mount the heat dissipating device to the base, and the attaching portion is arranged substantially radially outside of an outer peripheral portion of the heat generating object. When the attaching portion is secured to the base, the tip portion of the heat-conducting area is pressed to the heat generating object.

Heat dissipating device

A motor includes a rotor and a stator. A shaft of the rotor is received in a sleeve. A face of the sleeve and a face of the shaft, that are opposed to each other, form a bearing supporting the rotor in a rotatable manner relative to the stator. A sleeve-retaining portion that retains the sleeve has a bottom portion opposed to an axial end of the sleeve. A magnet holder is arranged in the bottom portion to accommodate an attracting magnet magnetically attracting the axial end of the shaft. The magnet holder is held between the axial end of the sleeve and the bottom portion of the sleeve-retaining portion.

Motor

Holding arms of a frame member of a fan axially extend and project outward from both sides of a housing in a direction perpendicular to a rotational axis of the fan. Catch projections are provided on inner surface of the axial ends of the holding arms in a front-rear direction perpendicular to the axial direction and the aforementioned direction. The catch projections are arranged without being covered by or covering other portions in the frame member axially.
