A disc cartridge includes a cartridge main body, a rotation wheelrotatably accommodated in the cartridge main body, a pair of shutter platesinterposed between a lower shelland the rotation wheelfor releasing a first openingof a lower shelland a second openingof the rotation wheelin association with the rotation of the rotation wheelwhen the first openingcoincides with the second opening, and a locking memberfor prohibiting the rotation of the rotation wheel. The rotation wheelunlocked by depressing any of the first and second unlocking pieces. With this arrangement, an unlocking mechanism of a rerecording and/or replaying device can be simplified.

Disc cartridge

A large capacity HDD is handled as a portable recording medium. In a state where a portable hard disk (PHD) unit is mounted on a cradle, data is written and read between the PHD unit and a host device. By having a first engagement section on the side of the PHD unit and a second engagement section on the side of a mounting section of the cradle mutually engaged while the PHD unit is mounted on the mounting section, a state where the PHD unit is mounted on the mounting section is maintained.

Hard disk system having a hard disk unit and a conversion unit for connection to a host device

A disk cartridge housing an optical disk is provided, a rotation wheel is housed rotatably in a cartridge body and which houses the disk and has formed therein a second opening corresponding to a first opening and through which the housed disk is exposed to outside, and a pair of shutter plates which are pivoted in conjunction with the rotation of the rotation wheel to uncover the first and second openings when the latter coincide with each other. The rotation wheel has formed at the front side thereof, at which the disk cartridge is first inserted into a disk recorder and/or player, a to-be-operated portion in which a shutter releasing portion of the disk recorder and/or player is engaged, and the to-be-operated portion is formed from a concavity opening the front side of the disk cartridge at which the latter is first inserted into the disk recorder and/or player.

Disk cartridge

A cushioning material providing sufficient cushioning effect and an information storage device having the cushioning material are provided. The cushioning material has a space therein to cover a part of an inner housing coming in contact with an outer surface of the inner housing and projections formed toward an outer housing, each projection having a contact surface coming in contact with an inner surface of the outer housing, the contact surface being formed to extend along the inner surface. The information storage device is removably mounted on a device body and has a hard disk driving mechanism, a first housing for accommodating the hard disk driving mechanism, a second housing for accommodating the first housing, and a connector portion, wherein the first housing is supported by the cushioning material to have a distance between the first housing and the second housing.

A disk cartridge including lower and upper shells, a rotation wheel housed rotatably in the cartridge and which houses a disk and has formed therein a second opening, corresponding to a first read/write opening in the lower shell, through which the housed disk is exposed to outside, a pair of shutter plates provided between the lower shell and rotation wheel and which operates with the rotation of the rotation wheel to uncover the first and second openings when the latter are coincide with each other, and a locking member including a locking portion installed pivotably to the upper shell and engaged in an engagement concavity in the rotation wheel to lock the rotation wheel in a position where the pair of shutter plates covers the first opening, and an unlocking portion which cancels the engagement of the locking portion in the engagement concavity.

A disk cartridge storing an optical disk includes a cartridge main body including a lower shell formed with a first opening and an upper shell abutted against the lower shell, a rotation wheel rotatably stored in the cartridge main body and storing the optical disk and formed with a second opening to cause the stored optical disk to face outside, and a pair of shutter plates positioned between the lower shell and the rotation wheel so that when the first and second openings coincide with each other in operative association with the rotation of the rotation wheel, these openings are opened. The rotation wheel is formed with an engagement groove adapted to engage the peripheral edge of one shutter plate.

A disc cartridge accommodating an optical disc in a cartridge body. The disc cartridge includes a cartridge body formed by mating and joining upper and lower halves mated together. A plurality of fusing portions for mating and fusing the upper and lower halves are provided at positions corresponding to recess portions for accommodating an optical disc. Each fusing portion is provided with a mating projection formed at one of the upper and lower halves and a mating projection formed at the other of the upper and lower halves. A plurality of mating projections formed at either half comprise mating projections having projections for fusing annularly and continuously formed over the entire circumference of the end surfaces to be mated to the mating projections of the other half and mating projections having projections for fusing formed in the form of an arc in one part of the end surfaces.

A disc cartridge accommodating an optical disc in a cartridge body. This disc cartridge is provided with a cartridge body formed by mating and joining a pair of upper and lower halves formed at the circumferential edges with rising circumferential walls which are mated to each other to constitute the circumferential side walls and, at the same time, formed at facing inner surfaces with walls for forming the accommodating portion which are mated to each other to constitute the disc accommodating portion in which the optical disc is accommodated. This cartridge body is provided with openings for recording and reproduction and a shutter member for opening and closing these openings. On the two sides of the cartridge body on the lower half from the front side toward the middle toward the back side are provided recess portions for preventing erroneous loading. A plurality of fusing portions for mating and fusing the upper and lower halves are provided at positions corresponding to these recess portions. Each fusing portion for mating and fusing the upper and lower halves is provided with a mating projection formed at one of the upper and lower halves and a mating projection formed at the other. A plurality of mating projections formed at either half comprise mating projections having projections for fusing annularly and continuously formed over the entire circumference of the end surfaces to be mated to the mating projections of the other half and mating projections having projections for fusing formed in the form of an arc in one part of the end surfaces.

A tape cassette storing case for storing a tape cassette comprises a cubic body with lateral walls, a lid body with lateral walls, and a junction member constituting one of the lateral walls of the lid body in linkage with the cubic body and the lid body via hinging means; and a pair of cylindrical members are vertically disposed on a bottom plate of the cubic body by way of being idly inserted in hub holes of a tape supplying and tape take up reel; wherein each of the hub holes comprises a driving pawl hole having an inner peripheral surface formed with a reel-driving pawl, and a reference hole that is formed in concentricity with the driving pawl hole and provided with a diameter smaller than that of the driving pawl hole; and the pair of cylindrical members are respectively formed to be of a height enough to arrive at the reference hole.

Tape cassette storing case

A disc cassette comprises a case in which a recording disc is rotatably received. The case has an opening through which the disc is exposed. A bridge defined by the case extends across a mouth portion of the opening. A slide bar is arranged beside the bridge in a manner to move axially therealong. A shutter is connected to the slide bar to move therewith. The shutter selectively opens and closes the opening in accordance with axial movement of the slide bar. The slide bar has a base portion which comes beside the bridge when the shutter takes the open position, and the base portion is formed with a recess which faces in a direction away from the center of the disc recording medium.

Disc cassette

A door is rotatably attached to a disk cartridge . In mounting the disk cartridge , an opening and closing pin moving along a groove is engaged with the door and the door is opened. For example, when the opening and closing pin cannot return to a normal standby position by some cause, a front face of the door and a projected streak portion are brought into contact with each other and the disk cartridge cannot be inserted further. Therefore, even when the disk cartridge is inserted in a state where the door is not opened, there is avoided beforehand an accident where the disk cartridge collides with a head, a lamp or the like to cause the destruction thereof.
