A lubricating oil composition including: a lubricating base oil; (A) a poly(meth)acrylate having a weight average molecular weight of no more than 50,000, in an amount of 2 to 10 mass %; (B) a phosphite ester of the general formula (1) in an amount of 0.01 to 0.06 mass % in terms of P; (C) a thiadiazole compound in an amount of 0.01 to 0.2 mass %; and (D) a Ca salicylate detergent in an amount of 0.005 to 0.03 mass % in terms of Ca, wherein the lubricating oil composition has a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of 4.0 to 20.0 mm/s, and a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of 1.8 to 5.2 mm/s; and has a ratio [S]/[P] of 2.2 to 4.0, wherein the [S] represents a sulfur content, and the [P] represents a phosphorus content: wherein Rand Rare each independently a group having 5 to 20 carbons represented by the general formula (2); and wherein Ris a C2-17 linear chain hydrocarbon group, and Ris a C2-17 linear chain hydrocarbon group.

Lubricating oil composition

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a lubricant composition which can be applied as a gear oil for a high-output and high-speed gear mechanism, and whereby fuel saving as well as further wear resistance in a bearing of a pinion gear can be realized while maintaining excellent durability, seizure resistance, and stability are maintained. A lubricant composition containing a Fischer-Tropsch-derived base oil, a poly alpha-olefin, and an ester compound, and further containing an unsaturated fatty acid and/or a partial ester compound of an unsaturated fatty acid and a polyol, wherein the partial ester compound of an unsaturated fatty acid includes a monoester compound of an unsaturated fatty acid and a polyol in a ratio of 50% by mass with respect to the total amount of the partial ester compound, and the SAE viscosity grade of the lubricant composition is 75W-85 or lower.

Lubricant composition

The sliding member according to the present invention includes: a base material; and a sliding film that covers a surface of the base material and constitutes a sliding surface, and is used under a wet condition where lubricant oil exists. The sliding film according to the present invention is a laminated film that includes: an underlying layer formed on the surface of the base material; and an outermost layer formed at least on a part of the underlying layer. This outermost layer is characterized by including specific boron-containing amorphous carbon (specific B-DLC) that contains 4-50% B and 5-50% H when the outermost layer as a whole is 100 at %. This specific B-DLC itself wears away during the sliding to smooth the sliding surface, and an excellent low friction property is exhibited. The underlying layer of the specific B-DLC contributes to improvement in the wear resistance property of the sliding film.

Sliding member and sliding machine

A sliding member includes: a substrate which has a sliding surface sliding under the presence of lubricating oil; and a film which is fixed to at least a part of the sliding surface. The film contains carbon (C), titanium (Ti), and boron (B), is obtained by repeatedly and alternately layering a first layer containing amorphous carbon as a principal component and a second layer containing C and Ti as principal components, and has hardness of 18 GPa or more.

Sliding member

The low friction sliding member includes a substrate and an amorphous hard carbon film formed on the surface of the substrate and makes sliding contact with a mating member under a wet oiling condition. The lubricant oil includes at least one of sulfur (S) and phosphorus (P) and at least one of zinc (Zn), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), sodium (Na), barium (Ba) and copper (Cu). The amorphous hard carbon film comprises carbon (C) as a major component, and hydrogen (H) in the range from 5 to 25 atomic % and a predetermined amount of boron (B), aluminum (Al), manganese (Mn) or molybdenum (Mo) assuming that the total atomic % of the amorphous carbon film is 100.

Low friction sliding member

To improve a CO conversion in stoichiometry-lean atmosphere, and additionally to prevent the rise of pressure loss. A catalytic coating layeris constituted of a lower layerincluding an oxygen storage capacity material and an upper layerbeing formed on a surface of the lower layerand including a catalytic noble metal, and a thickness of the upper layer is adapted so as to be 5 &#x3bc;m-40 &#x3bc;m. The upper layeris good in terms of gas diffusibility, and thereby OSC resulting from the oxygen storage capacity material being included in the lower layeris demonstrated maximally.

Catalyst for purifying exhaust gas

An object of the present invention is to realize low pressure loss and high purification performance in a constitution in which a primary catalyst component and co-catalyst component are loaded onto a ceramic support that allows catalyst components to be loaded directly. According to the present invention, a primary catalyst component in the form of a catalyst precious metal and a co-catalyst component in the form of an oxygen occluding component are loaded on the surface of a honeycomb-shaped ceramic support, including the inner surfaces of pores. As a result of the large loaded amount of co-catalyst component entering inside the pores, the loaded amount of co-catalyst component on the cell wall surfaces is reduced, thereby making it possible to inhibit increases in pressure loss. In addition, since the primary catalyst component and co-catalyst component are in close proximity to each other, catalyst performance is improved.
