Image information output method

In the case where variations in ground objects in one and the same area are detected between a line drawing map describing profile lines of the ground objects or a reference line drawing/image obtained by picking up the ground objects from above, and a target image obtained by picking up the ground objects in the same area from above later on, a variation detecting apparatus collates the reference line drawing/image with the target image so as to obtain variation indexes indicating whether there are variations or not in the ground objects respectively, and displays ground objects which can be judged to have variations or ground objects which cannot be judged as to whether there are variations or not on the basis of the variation indexes, in a display mode in which an area of the reference line drawing/image including the ground objects and an area of the target image including the ground objects can be compared with each other. Accordingly, confirmation or update of variations of ground objects on a line drawing map can be coped with easily, and portions having variations can be selectively displayed so that portions where variation detection should be confirmed can be understood intuitively.

Variation detecting apparatus, variation detecting method, and storage medium and system for storing program involved in the method

A method is provided for the orthocorrection of a satellite-acquired image. This method can be applied even if ground control points are not set. Without propagation of an error throughout the image and also without needing an excessively large amount of calculations, the method makes it possible to correct ground-relief-associated distortions caused by the relief of a ground surface. According to the method, a plurality of control planes of different elevations are set relative to a control plane of a zero elevation of a reference rotating ellipsoidal earth model. A corrected image is divided into blocks by lattices of equal intervals. With respect to each of these blocks, distortion model formulas in the form of bilinear functions are determined for the respective control planes. Concerning each pixel position in the corrected image, two pixel positions in an observed image, which correspond to the elevation value of the pixel position in the block, are calculated by using distortion model formulas for two control planes which directly sandwich the value of elevation above and below the value in the corresponding block. By the value of elevation, the two pixel positions are linearly interpolated to determine the desired pixel position in the observed image.

Method for orthocorrecting satellite-acquired image

The present invention has an object to measure the height of a liquid surface automatically by an image processing. According to the present invention, therefore, the situation over a side wall and the situation of the liquid surface in the image, as taken from an ITV camera, of the neighborhood of the liquid surface are image-analyzed to estimate the boundary position between the side wall and the liquid surface thereby to determine the position of the liquid surface on the image, and the liquid-surface position on the image is transformed from an image coordinate system to a real spatial coordinate system to determine a real position of the liquid surface.

A retrieving key representing position information is used to retrieve image information containing the retrieving key information at a high speed and high precision. First a retrieving key is inputted to display retrieval information. The retrieving key is used to retrieve an image having a large size relative to a geometric distortion error, and the longitude/latitude conversion coefficients of the retrieved image are corrected. By using the corrected longitude/latitude conversion coefficients, an image having a small size relative to the geometric distortion error is retrieved, and the retrieved image is subject to distortion correction and image magnification.
