The detection system according to the present invention has a detection chip, a light source, and a detection unit. The detection chip has a housing that has an opening at an upper portion, and a reaction field for trapping a substance to be detected, the reaction field being arranged on an inner surface of the side walls included in the housing. The light source irradiates the detection chip with light from the outside such that evanescent light or surface plasmon resonance is generated under the reaction field. The detection unit detects light which is emitted from the detection chip when the light source irradiates the detection chip with light, and the amount of which changes depending on the amount of the substance to be detected trapped in the reaction field.

An inspection chip according to the present invention is an inspection chip for stirring liquid by a circular movement of a bottom surface end, including a well main body for accommodating the liquid and a side wall member arranged on a side surface of the well main body. Provided is a method of obtaining an index value used for pathological tissue diagnosis of prostate cancer, which method has low invasiveness and can be performed at a low cost. The method is a method of estimating a Gleason score that represents the malignancy of prostate cancer, which method includes: measuring the content of a prostate-specific antigen having an N-acetylgalactosamine residue at a non-reducing terminal of a sugar chain in a sample; and estimating that the Gleason score is 7 or higher when the thus measured value is larger than a threshold value, or estimating that the Gleason score is 6 or lower when the measured value is smaller than a threshold value.
