An electromagnetic contactor is formed of upper and lower cases. Recesses are formed on opposite sides of the upper case, while guide walls that fit the recesses are provided on two opposite sides of the lower case to extend toward the upper case. The recesses and the guide walls can be fitted together even when the upper case is rotated by 180.degree. relative to the lower case. Therefore, the upper and lower cases can be attached to each other even if the upper case is rotated by 180.degree. relative to the lower case.

Electromagnetic contactor

An electromagnetic contactor includes an iron core members formed of a first core bent in a U-shape, and a second L-shaped core contacting the first core. A coil is wound around a spool disposed on an upper arm of the first core and the second core to form a main leg while a lower arm of the first core constitutes a yoke. Thus, the iron core members can be processed by a press machine operating at a normal cutting speed, and welding and polishing operations can be eliminated to thereby reduce the number of processing steps required.

A terminal device for an electric equipment is formed of a frame having a terminal housing, a fixed terminal situated in the terminal housing, and a terminal screw having a male screw to be coupled to a tapped hole of the fixed terminal and an inverse L-shaped washer. The inverse L-shaped washer includes one side for rotatably holding the male screw and a guide plate section bent relative to the one side. A guide groove is formed in the terminal housing for receiving the guide plate section therein to vertically guide the same. Also, the terminal device includes an engagement section having a first engaging part formed on the guide plate section and a second engaging part formed at a portion facing the guide groove and engaging the first engaging part to temporarily hold the guide plate section in the guide groove. Thus, the terminal screw can be held directly above the tapped hole, which enables the male screw to be stably and easily inserted into the tapped hole, and which facilitates simple rewiring.

Terminal device for electric equipment

A terminal device for connecting contacts to terminal strips fixed on respective terminal housing portions of an electrical apparatus, each of the terminal strips having a screw hole, the terminal housing portions being separated by insulating walls from one another. The terminal device includes a plurality of terminal screws, each including a male screw, and an L-shaped washer supported loosely and rotatably on the male screw and having a guide plate portion extending opposite to the terminal strip; a terminal cover covering the terminal housing portions and having round holes for handling the respective terminal screws; a guiding portion each including a vertical trench formed on a side plate of the terminal cover and having an opening facing the round hole, for guiding the guide plate portion slidably to and from the terminal strip along the vertical trench; a plurality of coupling claws, each disposed between the round hole and the male screw, for holding the terminal screw such that a tip of the male screw is spaced from the terminal strip for a certain distance; and a swinging mechanism for releasing the guide plate portions from the guiding portions, respectively, when the tips of the male screws are coupled to the respective terminal strips, to allow the washers to swing.

Terminal device for electrical apparatus

A dust preventing device for an electromagnetic contactor prevents foreign matters accumulated on a foreign matter preventing wall from slipping off the wall due to vibrations of electromagnetic contactor. In a case where an arc extinguishing chamber cover is disposed to cover a fixed contact and a movable contact, and includes a foreign matter preventing wall provided under a gas discharging opening formed on the cover, the foreign matter preventing wall is formed with ribs provided therearound in a shape of an embankment. Therefore, foreign matters having entered through the gas discharging opening can be positively trapped in a hollow portion surrounded by ribs, so that the foreign matters do not fall into the electromagnetic contactor from the foreign matter preventing wall due to vibrations of the contactor.

Dust preventing device for electromagnetic contactor

A terminal device for connecting an end portion of an exciting coil to an external conductor, said exciting coil being formed on a bobbin and operating, for example, a contact of an electromagnetic contactor. The terminal device includes a terminal base mounted on the bobbin, an electrically conductive terminal plate, and means for mounting the terminal plate to the terminal base such that a force exerted on the terminal plate at its end connected to the external conductor is not transmitted to the end portion of the exciting coil.

Terminal Device

A pair of closed contacts having moving contacts (27A), (27B) and fixed contacts (25A), (26A), (25B), (26B) are provided in a mutual locking device (3) and excitation circuits of two electromagnetic contactors which are inversely connected to respective closed contacts to effect electrical interlocking. The moving contacts (27A), (27B) are held by respective levers (36A), (36B) interlocked with driven members (5A), (5B) to be driven by corresponding moving contact supports of the electromagnetic contactors and opened when the electromagnetic contactor closes. Thus, electrical interlocking may be simultaneously effected using a mutual locking device for mechanically preventing two electromagnetic contactors reversibly connected from simultaneously closing.

Mutual locking device for electromagnetic contactors

A contact device includes a housing, a fixed contact, and a moving contact attached to a support frame, the support frame and moving contact movable within the housing perpendicular to the fixed contact. A stopping arm projects from the support frame to restrict movement of the support frame within the housing.

Auxiliary contact unit for an electromagnetic switch

An electromagnetic contactor includes an engaging portion formed on a side surface of its body and disposed below a coil terminal. An attachment is releasably attached to the body of the electromagnetic contactor. The attachment includes a casing containing an electric component, the casing having a resilient projection formed on a side surface thereof. The resilient projection is resiliently engageable releasably with the engaging portion. The attachment has a plate-like connecting element projecting outwardly from the casing. The connecting element is connectable with the coil terminal when the attachment casing is attached to the body of the electromagnetic contactor.

An electromagnetic contactor coupling device, in which electromagnetic contactors are put side by side with an interlock unit sandwiched therebetween for preventing the electromagnetic contactors from simultaneously turning on, and are integrally coupled to each other by a coupler. The device is arranged to have abutment portions wider at its rear end than at its front end so that, in order to prevent displacement of the interlock unit due to vibrations or the like, force for sandwiching the interlock unit is exerted on the interlock unit as the coupler is inserted between the electromagnetic contactors.

Device for coupling reversible electromagnetic contactors to each other

An electromagnetic contactor includes an arc-extinction cover that prevents an electric arc generated during the disconnection of a fixed contact and a movable contact for bridging adjacent fixed contacts. A removable terminal cover serves to cover terminal screws attached to the fixed contacts. The arc-extinction cover and the terminal cover are separate from the contactor body and are attachable and detachable.

A polarized electromagnet device is constructed with a magnetic block movable within a specially designed yoke in response to the attraction forces of permanent magnets and an electromagnetic coil. The movable block and yoke designs form magnetic circuits which result in a relatively large permanent magnet attraction forces on the attraction side of the device and relatively small permanent magnet attraction force on the return side such that a spring load on the return side is not required.
