An electrode structure disposed on the outer circumference of a core metal of a steering wheel provided in a vehicle includes an insulator and a first electrode disposed on a first surface of the insulator that is on an opposite side of the insulator relative to a surface of the insulator that faces the core metal of the steering wheel. The insulator includes an engagement portion that engages a first engagement-target portion included in the core metal.

Electrode structure, steering wheel, and method for manufacturing steering wheel

A vehicle driving system to be provided in a vehicle includes a touch sensor and a control unit. The touch sensor is to be provided in the steering operation device and configured to measure a fluctuation in electrostatic capacitance. The control unit determines, based on information from the touch sensor, whether a driver of the vehicle is in a steering-holding state or in a non-steering-holding state. After a detection of a first fluctuation that is a fluctuation in the electrostatic capacitance occurring before a malfunction of the touch sensor, the control unit determines that the driver is in the non-steering-holding state even if the information from the touch sensor to the control unit indicates that the driver is in the steering-holding state.

Vehicle driving system

An electrode structure includes: a base material; a conductive fabric on a first surface of the base material; and one or more conductive wires on a second surface of the base material so as to be electrically insulated from the conductive fabric. The second surface is opposite to the first surface of the base material. The base material includes: a first area and a second area. The first area is fitted into a groove of the rim and the second area is placed in a part of a rim of a steering wheel other than the groove, when the base material is attached to the rim. The one or more conductive wires are arranged at a lower wiring density in the first area than in the second area.

Electrode structure and grip sensor

The electrode structure is an electrode structure disposed in a steering wheel provided in a vehicle, the electrode structure including: an insulator; a first electrode disposed on a first surface of the insulator, the first surface being a surface facing a core metal of the steering wheel; a second electrode disposed on a second surface, the second surface being a surface opposite to the first surface of the insulator; a protrusion protruding from the insulator toward the core metal; and an engagement portion that is engaged with the core metal.

A vehicular input apparatus includes a gesture sensor, an external device controller, and an output stop unit. The gesture sensor detects a gesture that is a non-contact gesture. The external device controller outputs an operation signal corresponding to the gesture detected by the gesture sensor to a first external device. When the gesture sensor detects the gesture, the output stop unit causes the external device controller to stop outputting the operation signal in response to a detection signal from at least one of a contact sensor and a proximity sensor for manipulating a second external device. The external device controller outputs the operation signal to the first external device after a second predetermined period of time.

Vehicular input apparatus

The capacitive sensor apparatus includes: a sensor element disposed on the first surface of the mounting member; and a floating conductor that is disposed on the second surface of the mounting member and is electrically conductive, the floating conductor being electrically disconnected from the sensor element. The sensor element includes: a first electrode; and a second electrode in a shape of a ring surrounding an outer periphery of the first electrode and being electrically disconnected from the first electrode. The floating conductor overlaps at least the first electrode in a projection view seen from the first surface.

Capacitive sensor apparatus

The electrostatic detection sensor has a first electrode, a second electrode, and a third electrode. A controller connects the first electrode and the second electrode, and applies a first drive voltage thereto to obtain a first intensity. The controller applies a second drive voltage to the first electrode while keeping the second electrode and the third electrode at a ground potential to obtain a second intensity. The controller applies a third drive voltage to the third electrode while grounding the first electrode to the ground potential and keeping the second electrode open to obtain a third intensity. Then, the controller determines whether an object is approaching based on first, second, and third computed values which are computed temporal changes in the first, second, and third intensities, respectively.

Electrostatic detection sensor

A sensor body of an electrostatic detection sensor includes a first electrode and a second electrode surrounding the first electrode. A controller is configured to obtain a first sensed intensity of the sensor body while where the first electrode is connected to the second electrode. The controller is configured to obtain a second sensed intensity of the first electrode while the second electrode is grounded. The controller is configured to obtain a third sensed intensity of the second electrode while the first electrode is grounded. The controller is configured to determine whether an object approaches the sensor body or not based on first to third calculation values obtained by calculating the respective changes of the first to third sensed intensities with respect to time.

A first ramp waveform (RW) rising from a first potential (Vscn) to a second potential (Vscn+Vset) is applied to a plurality of scan electrodes (SCi) in a first period (tto t), and a driving waveform dropping from a third potential (Ve) to a fourth potential (0V) is applied to a plurality of sustain electrodes (SUi) before the first period (tto t), and the plurality of sustain electrodes are held at the fourth potential (0V) in the first period (tto t). At this time, a second ramp waveform (RW) rising from a fifth potential (0 V) to a sixth potential (Vd) according to change of a potential of the first ramp waveform (RW) is applied to a plurality of data electrodes (Dj) in a second period (tto t) that starts at a starting time point (t) of the first period (tto t) and is shorter than the first period (tto t), thereby preventing generation of strong discharges between the plurality of data electrodes (Dj) and the plurality of scan electrodes (SCi).

Driving device, driving method and plasma display apparatus

Disclosed here is a method for driving a plasma display panel and a plasma display device capable of providing image display with a high contrast ratio and excellent quality by stabilizing an address discharge. According to the method, which is the method for driving a plasma display panel in which discharge cells are formed at intersections of scan electrodes, sustain electrodes and data electrodes, the field&#x2014;that contains at least one sub-field having the all-cell initializing operation&#x2014;and the field&#x2014;that is formed of sub-fields having the selective-cell initializing operation only&#x2014;are set at a ratio of 1:N (where, N takes an integer of 1 or greater). At the same time, at least in one sub-field of the field having the selective-cell initializing operation only, the scan-pulse width employed for the selective-cell initializing field is determined longer than the scan-pulse width employed for the field containing the all-cell initializing operation.
