Line heads are arranged along the transfer direction of a recording medium. Each line head has a nozzle surface in which nozzles are provided over a width direction of the recording medium. Purge units each corresponding to one of the line heads are arranged along the transfer direction of the recording medium at positions which deviate from the recording medium in the width direction. Each purge unit cleans the nozzle surface of a corresponding one of the line heads.

Inkjet recording apparatus

An ink-jet recording device according to the present invention includes: a paper supply tray arranged inward of a predetermined face of a main body to supply recording sheets; a paper display tray arranged inward of the same face as the paper supply tray to receive recording sheets discharged after recording; an ink cartridge loading unit, which is arranged inward of the same face as the paper supply tray, and into which an ink cartridge containing ink used for recording is loaded detachably; and a controller which disables removal of the ink cartridge during a removal inhibited period.

Ink-jet recording device and control method thereof

The present invention provides an ink jet recording apparatus in which many components in a carriage-driving system are unitized into a carriage frame. The apparatus comprises a carriage loaded with a recording head for discharging ink from a plurality of nozzles, a carriage-driving device for driving the carriage, a bendable electric wire, and a carriage frame. The electric wire is bent from an apparatus body and mounted to the recording head and passes a printing signal to the recording head. The carriage frame arranges the carriage, the carriage-driving device, the recording head, and the electric wire at predetermined positions to form a unit. The carriage can reciprocate in parallel with the main scan direction along the longitudinal direction of the carriage frame. As a result, the recording head can be easily replaced, and the apparatus can be maintained without complicated work.

Ink jet recording apparatus

Disclosed here is a color-image forming apparatus that minimizes damage caused by friction between a photosensitive drum and an inter-stage transfer belt. The apparatus includes a plurality of image-forming units, each of which has the photosensitive drum carrying an electrostatic latent image thereon, a developing unit forming a toner image by applying toner to the latent image. Having different color toners therein, the image-forming units are organized into a tandem layout. The inter-stage transfer belt is looped over plural rollers to form an endless path. While traveling the path along the direction in which the image-forming units are arranged, the belt forms a full-color toner image thereon by transferring plural toner-images on the drums one upon another. The belt is controlled to come into contact with the drums only while accepting the toner image from the drums.
