A coil component includes a coil having inner and outer circumferential surfaces, a pair of end surfaces, and a core surrounding at least a part of a periphery of the core. A cross section is where the coil component is cut by a plane, when each of coil sections is divided into eight regions by four straight lines extending along the inner circumferential surface, the outer circumferential surface and the end surfaces. In the cross section, first core members positioned at four corner regions, second core members positioned at an inner side of the inner circumferential surface and an outer side of the outer circumferential surface, and third core members, positioned at outer sides of the end surfaces form the core. At least one of the second and third core members has a magnetic permeability lower than that of the first core member in a zero magnetic field.

Coil component

A reactor comprises a first coil, a second coil and a core. Each of the first coil and the second coil is embedded in the core. The core has an outer core part, an inner core part, an upper core part, a lower core part and a middle core part. The upper core part is positioned above an upper end of a cross-section of the first coil in an up-down direction. The lower core part is positioned below a lower end of a cross-section of a second coil in the up-down direction. The core is made of a first member and a second member. The second member has a relative permeability which is greater than a relative permeability of the first member. Each of the upper core part and the lower core part is made of the second member.

Reactor and step-up circuit

A power conversion apparatus includes: a semiconductor module, an electronic component, a plurality of cooling pipes and a casing that accommodates the semiconductor module, the electronic component and the cooling pipes. An abutting surface is provided at a part of the casing, in which the electronic component comes into contact with the abutting surface. A pressurizing member pressurizes the semiconductor module in a first direction extending from the semiconductor module to the electronic component. The electronic component includes a part body and a wing portion and the wing portion protrudes from the part body at least either one side of both sides thereof with respect to a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, and comes into contact with the abutting surface from a semiconductor module side with respect to the first direction.

A reactor comprises a coil member and a core member. The coil member comprises an insulation-coated conductive wire and an insulation coating. The insulation-coated conductive wire is wound and coated, at least in part, with the insulation coating. The core member comprises a first member and a second member. The first member has a relative permeability higher than another relative permeability of the second member. The second member includes a composite magnet, and the relative permeability of the second member is between 1 and 30 (both inclusive). The composite magnet is formed of a hardened binder and magnetic particles dispersed in the binder. The composite magnet has an elastic modulus that is one hundred times or more than another elastic modulus of the insulation coating.

Reactor

A reactor is composed of a coil and a core placed in the inside area and outer peripheral area of the coil in a container. The core is composed of magnetic powder, non-magnetic powder, and resin. The non-magnetic powder is composed of main component powder and low elastic modulus powder. The main component powder as a main component of the non-magnetic powder is made of one or more kinds of powder of a heat conductivity which is larger than that of the resin. The low elastic modulus powder is made of one or more kinds of powder of an elastic modulus which is smaller than that of the powder forming the main component powder.

Reactor and method of producing the reactor

A method of fabricating a reactor composed of a coil, a core, and a container, capable of suppressing the core to break when a current flows in the coil to generate magnetic flux. In the method, the coil is formed by spirally winding a conductive wire. The coil is immersed in an insulating film in liquid with electrical insulation. The coil is placed in a furnace. Annealing for the coil and thermosetting for the insulating film are performed at a temperature within 250 to 320&#xb0; C. for a period of time within 30 minutes to one hour before forming the core in the container. The coil is then disposed in the container. Inside and outside areas of the coil in the container is filled with a resin mixture composed of magnetic powder and resin. The resin mixture in the container is hardened to form the core.

Method of fabricating reactor

A coil component () comprising coil-containing insulator enclosure and a magnetic core (). The coil-containing insulator enclosure is obtained by enclosing a coil (), except for end portions () of the coil (), with an insulator (), wherein the insulator () comprises at least a first resin. The magnetic core () is made of a mixture of a second resin () and powder, which comprises magnetic powder (). The coil-containing insulator enclosure is embedded in the magnetic core ().
