The invention relates to a method for putting color to glass. This method includes the steps of (a) introducing a laser beam into an interferometer such that the laser beam is split into at least first and second laser beams in the interferometer and that the at least first and second laser beams come out of the interferometer; and (b) irradiating a glass with the at least first and second laser beams to write a plurality of lines simultaneously on a surface of the glass and/or in an inside of the glass.

Method for putting color to glass

A laminated glass to be used as a front windshield glass of an automotive vehicle, forming part of a head-up display system for displaying an image of light representing driving information on the windshield glass. The laminated glass comprises inboard-side and outboard-side glass plates of the vehicle. An intermediate film is disposed between and in contact with the inboard-side and outboard-side glass plates. A polarization-direction changing film is disposed between the first and second glass plates and bonded to the outboard-side glass plate with an adhesive containing an ultraviolet ray absorbing agent. The polarization-direction changing film functions to rotate a plane of polarization of light to be incident thereon.

The image quality of a hologram is evaluated by measuring the spacial distributions of luminance of an image reconstructed from the hologram and an object recorded thereon, normalizing the amplitudes of luminance per spacial frequency (which are obtained by Fourier transforms of the spacial distributions measured, respectively) and comparing the amplitudes normalized or obtaining a ratio between the amplitudes normalized.

Method and system for evaluating the quality of holograms

A holographic laminate to be used in a vehicular windshield or windowpane and an architectural window glass in order to display a variety of images for the expressive and decorative purposes. The holographic laminate comprises a transparent plate on which a hologram is mounted. An ultraviolet ray absorbing film is disposed on a side of the hologram through which side sunlight enter the hologram. A layer of an adhesive is disposed to secure the hologram to the transparent plate layer. A barrier film is disposed between the hologram and the adhesive layer to protect the hologram from being chemically affected by the adhesive layer.

Holographic laminate

A holographic ornament comprises a hologram which has an operative surface. In one embodiment, the operative surface is masked by a masking member. The masking member is formed with at least one letter-shaped cut through which a part of the operative surface of the hologram is exposed. In order to protect the masking member and the exposed part of the operative surface, a transparent protection cover member covers them. In the other embodiment, the hologram per se is formed with at least one through cut which is shaped like a letter or the like. In order to protect the operative surface, a transparent protection cover member covers the same.
