In laminates prepared by laminating a base material and sandwich base material via a bonding layer, the adhesion strength between the sandwich base material and bonding layer is not less than 200 g/15 mm wide at 23 &deg; C. and the bonding layer is formed of a resin composition which comprises an ethylene/ &agr;-olefin copolymer resin, thus to provide useful laminates which are very excellent in adhesion properties to metal foil, deposited metal surfaces of metal-deposited films, and surfaces of other sandwich base materials and in tear properties such as unsealing properties, and have low smell and high strength as packaging films.

Laminates

A pressure-sensitive adhesive tape which is a laminate made up of (1) a woven fabric layer whose warp and weft are thermoplastic-resin-made flat yarns, (2) a layer of polyethylene having a density (D) of 0.875 to 0.917 kg/cm.sup.3 and an MFR of 1 to 25 g/10 min, laminated to one surface or both surfaces of the woven fabric layer, and (3) a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer laminated to the polyethylene layer (2), wherein the laminate fulfills the following relationship:

A process for recovering .alpha.-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester from a solution containing various methyl ester or demethylated derivatives of .alpha.-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester and chloride ions is disclosed. This process uses a reverse osmosis membrane having a specific chloride inhibition rate to desalt and concentrate a solution containing a specified ratio of .delta.-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester to its derivatives until a specific weight ratio of organic chloride ion to the sum of .alpha.-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester and its derivatives is obtained. This desalted and concentrated solution is then contacted with an aqueous solvent containing methanol and hydrochloride acid to recover high yields of .alpha.-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester hydrochloride.

Method for recovering .alpha.-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester

N-formyl-.alpha.-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester is obtained by reacting L-phenylalanine methyl ester with N-formyl-L-aspartic acid anhydride in a reaction solvent containing acetic acid or acetic acid and formic acid in a complete mixing type continuous reaction mode.

Process for the production of N-formyl-alpha-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine

When paraffins having a chain of 10 - 40 carbon atoms are reacted with gaseous oxygen in the presence of a manganese bearing catalyst, manganese is present in the oxidation mixture partly as a solute in the liquid mixture, and partly as a sludge. When the oxidation mixture is extracted with a dilute mineral acid, practically the entire manganese values present in the mixture are found in the aqueous extract which is free of significant amounts of organic matter. When a more concentrated aqueous acid is used in the extraction, practically the entire manganese values present are converted to a precipitate which is readily recovered and may be dissolved in water for further processing.
