A pair of cover half members are attached to each other and to a seat hinge base plate in such a manner as to enclose the base plate. The respective cover halves each snap directly onto the base plate at a single point on their lower sides. At their upper sides the covers snap onto each other. The connection between the covers and the base plate is firm but is still resilient enough to allow sufficient movement between the cover assembly and the base plate in the event that large forces or shocks are applied to the cover. The connection between the cover halves is sufficiently strong that forces acting on the cover halves cannot readily force them apart nor cause them to become detached from the base plate.

An adjustable headrest is disclosed, which comprises a core case in which a tilting mechanism is installed, the core case having at its given portion a pair of slots formed therethrough; a pair of stays extending from the tilting mechanism and projecting outwardly through the slots; a boot structure constructed of an elastic material, the boot structure including a base portion and a pair of tubular portions which are integrally mounted on the base portion, the tubular portions having the stays passed therethrough when the base portion is attached to the given portion of the core case; a pad material molded around the core case with the base portion of the boot structure interposed therebetween; and an outer skin member substantially covering the pad material.

Adjustable headrest for automotive seat

Herein disclosed is a folding seat which comprises first and second side arms each being pivotally mounted on a floor, a seatback secured to the side arms to move therewith, a seat cushion connected to the side arms in a manner to be pivotal between a horizontal in-use position and an upright folded position, a first latching mechanism for latching the seat cushion when the same assumes the two positions selectively, a second latching mechanism for latching the second side arm when the same is raised up to its upright position, a third latching mechanism for latching the first side arm when the same is raised up to its upright position, and an unlatching mechanism for making the second latching mechanism inoperative when the seat cushion is pivoted to its upright folded position.
