Sulfur-containing polymerizable monomer and use thereof

The present invention improves the long-term storage stability of a polymerizable composition including an organoborane and a polymerizable monomer. A polymerizable composition includes (A) an organoborane, (B) an acidic group-free polymerizable monomer, and (C) a stabilizer for the organoborane (A), the composition being such that when the composition, after being allowed to stand at 45&#xb0; C. for 48 hours, is analyzed with an E-type viscometer at a temperature of 25&#xb0; C. and a rotational speed of 50 rpm, the ratio of the viscosity after the standing to the viscosity before the standing (viscosity after standing/viscosity before standing) is less than 100.

Polymerizable composition and kit, and polymerization initiator

A dental curable composition has a curing time of 30 seconds to 120 minutes and includes a compound having an acidic group in the molecule (A), a polymerizable monomer (B), an organic amine compound (C) and a sulfur-containing reducing compound (D). In the dental curable composition, the content of the component (A) is 0.01 to 80 parts by weight, the content of the component (B) is 21 to 99.8 parts by weight, the content of the component (C) is 0.01 to 30 parts by weight and the content of the component (D) is 0 to 30 parts by weight. The composition may be cured at a relatively low temperature close to the body temperature without using a peroxide-based polymerization initiator, and has good sealing properties and adhesion.

A reaction-curable adhesive composition exhibiting acidity is formed form a weakly acidic to alkaline composition (I) comprising (a) a polymerizable monomer and (b) a compound represented by the following formula (I) and a strongly acidic composition (II) comprising (a) a polymerizable monomer.R&#x2014;CH&#x2014;NRCHCOOR&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)wherein Rand Rare each independently a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group which may have a functional group, and Ris a hydrogen atom or a metal atom. The composition containing the polymerizable monomer can be stably stored for a long period of time.

Reaction-curable adhesive composition and dental adhesive kit

A kit for dental adhesive comprising a radical polymerizable monomer having an acid group in the molecule, a photosensitizer and/or a peroxide, a water-soluble organic solvent, an organic sulfinic acid and/or a salt thereof or a barbituric acid and/or a derivative thereof, and water. The kit may further comprises a radical polymerizable monomer which has no acid group and is insoluble or hardly soluble in water, an amine compound, a silane coupling agent and a 1,3,5-triazine-2,4-dithion derivative. By using this kit, the adhesive composition can be applied directly to a dentine without conducting a pretreatment.

Dental adhesive kit

A curable dental adhesive composition of the type including polymerizable monomer and polymerization initiator may be easily prepared and applied to a tooth surface by using a tool which includes fibrous or sponge material, adapted to fit within a person's mouth, and carrying at least part of the polymerization initiator. Polymerizable monomer and any remaining polymerization initiator as well as filler and other ingredients may be brought into contact with the tool to form the curable composition just prior to applying the composition to the tooth surface. The tool may be part of a kit which also includes a container for polymerizable monomer and, as necessary, one or more additional containers for remaining polymerization initiator(s), fillers, etc. No separate mixing container is required.

Dental composition for dentin hypersensitivity

A curable composition comprising a polymerizable monomer having an acidic group in its molecule and an initiator. The composition has a viscosity in the range of from 100 to 30,000 cP at 37.5.degree. C. and may have additionally contain other polymerizable monomer and/or a filler. The composition is applied to a tooth surface directly or after applying a primer composition. There is also provided the primer composition which comprises a polymerizable monomer having an acidic group and a solvent.

There is provided a dental composition for relieving dentin hypersensitivity comprising (A) an aqueous emulsion component which contains, as emulsion particles, polymer particles having a diameter smaller than that of a dentinal tubule and forming an agglomerate larger than the diameter of a dentinal tubule when they react with a calcium compound, and (B) a water-soluble organic acid component or a water-soluble salt component thereof, a calcium salt of the organic acid being insoluble or hardly soluble in water. Using this composition, dentinal tubules open to the surface of dentin are occluded to relieve dentin hypersensitivity immediately and lastingly.

An adhesive composition comprising (A) 98 to 60 parts by weight of a polymerizable monomer mixture containing 2 to 25% by weight of a monomer having acidic group, (B) 2 to 40 parts by weight of a polymer, preferably a polymer which can form a solution or dispersion having the property that the solution or dispersion of 10 parts by weight of the polymer in 90 parts by weight of methyl methacrylate shows a viscosity of 100 cps or less at 25.degree. C., and (C) 0.01 to 35 parts by weight of a polymerization initiator, provided that the total amount of the components (A), (B) and (C) is 100 parts by weight. According to the present invention, there can be provided an adhesive composition which is easy to handle for the restoration treatment of a tooth, so that adhesion dental treatment can be reliably carried out.

A primer solution composition to be applied to a tooth surface, which comprises (a) at least one metal compound selected from the group consisting of an iron compound, a copper compound and a cobalt compound, (b) a polymerizable monomer having an acidic group and (c) a polymerizable monomer having no acidic group, and which has adhesion properties to a tooth surface; and a method of forming an adhesive layer on a tooth surface, which comprises applying said primer solution composition comprising (a) to a tooth surface, and applying thereto a curing composition containing trialkylboron or its partial oxidate and a polymerizable monomer.
