A method for controlling a fuel cell system including a fuel cell, includes measuring an impedance of the fuel cell that includes a solid polymer electrolyte membrane to generate electric power via an electrochemical reaction between a fuel gas and an oxidant gas. An output electric current output from the fuel cell is increased to a threshold electric current value when the impedance is equal to or higher than a threshold impedance value and a target electric current value is larger than the threshold electric current value. The output electric current is maintained at the threshold electric current value. The output electric current is increased from the threshold electric current value to the target electric current value.

Method for controlling fuel cell system

A method for controlling a fuel cell system includes supplying an oxidant gas, via an oxidant gas supply channel, to a cathode electrode of a fuel cell. The oxidant gas is moistened to be supplied to the cathode electrode with a humidifier. An opening degree of a bypass channel valve is decreased via a feedforward control to a first opening degree when an impedance has reached a lower limit value. The opening degree of the bypass channel valve is increased via the feedforward control to a second opening degree when the impedance has reached an upper limit value. The first opening degree is smaller than the second opening degree.

A fuel gas supply apparatus of a fuel cell system includes a pressure reducing valve, an interruption valve, and an injector in a hydrogen supply channel. A controller of the fuel cell system includes a drive cycle setting unit for setting the drive cycle of the injector based on a load of the fuel cell stack, and a water state determination unit for determining whether or not quantity of water content in the fuel cell is excessive by determining whether or not the quantity of water content is a predetermined quantity or more.

Fuel cell system and method of controlling the fuel cell system

A fuel cell system includes a fuel cell stack having a membrane electrode assembly and an internal reactant gas passage, a unit that detects or estimates an actual retained water quantity (R.W.Q.), and a power generation control unit having a normal-time mode, a normal-time drying mode and a stop-time drying mode. In the normal-time drying mode, the fuel cell stack is caused to generate electric power while being dried more than in the normal-time mode until the actual R.W.Q. is decreased to a target R.W.Q. In the stop-time drying mode, when the actual R.W.Q. is equal to or more than a flooding threshold at a time of detection of a system stop instruction, the fuel cell stack is caused to generate electric power while being dried more than in the normal-time drying mode until the actual R.W.Q. is decreased to a target R.W.Q.

Fuel cell system and control method for the same

A saddle-ride type vehicle is capable of reducing influence of travelling wind on an open end of an air hose, thus preventing fluctuations in the internal pressure of a float chamber of a carburetor. The saddle-ride type vehicle includes a carburetor placed rearward of an engine and an air cleaner placed rearward of the carburetor. An air hose configured to regulate the internal pressure of a float chamber of the carburetor is connected to the carburetor. A recessed portion is provided at a side wall of an air-cleaner case of the air cleaner, the side wall being located along a lateral side of the vehicle. An open end of the air hose is placed at the recessed portion of the air-cleaner case.

Saddle-ride type vehicle

An exhaust system for a saddle-ride type vehicle that can make it hard for the heat of a catalyst body to be transmitted to an external plate of a muffler. A catalyst body is installed in a muffler. An exhaust system has a tubular case covering the outer circumferential surface of the catalyst body along from the exhaust gas inlet to outlet of the catalyst body. The catalyst body is secured at its inlet-side end portion to one end portion of the case and the catalyst body is supported at its outlet-side end portion by the other end portion of the case. The case is supported at its outer circumferential surface by the front end portion of the muffler.

Exhaust system for saddle-ride type vehicle

A method of shutting down a fuel cell system includes a first step of supplying hydrogen gas and air to a fuel cell stack to thereby cause the fuel cell stack to generate electricity, and a second step of stopping supply of the hydrogen gas, and then supplying air to the fuel cell stack so as to cause the fuel cell stack to generate electricity upon detection of a command to shut down the fuel cell stack. In the second step, when the pressure of the hydrogen gas is lowered to a preset lower-limit value based on an anode pressure, which actually is measured, the fuel cell stack is caused to stop generating electricity.

Positioning structure is provided for positioning the canister in relation to the holding member. The positioning structure is provided to both the annular portion and the canister. In one illustrative embodiment, the positioning structure includes at least one projection provided on a periphery of the cylindrical body portion of the canister, and multiple holes provided in the annular portion of the holding member, where each of the multiple holes is engageable with the projection.
