In the semiconductor switch of the present invention, the gate electrode, source electrode and drain electrode are formed such that the distance between the gate and the drain of an MESFET, assuming a shunt FET, is longer than the distance between the gate and the drain of an MESFET, assuming a through FET, so that the gate breakdown voltage of the MESFET, assuming a shunt FET, is increased without changing the gate breakdown voltage of the MESFET, assuming a through FET.

Semiconductor switch

A power supply circuit capable of reducing the power consumption during the standby state of an electric appliance. The power supply circuit for supplying the electric appliance with voltages to drive and control the electric appliance, includes a controller for controlling the operation of the electric appliance, a DC-DC converter for outputting a fixed voltage V.sub.1 and a variable voltage V.sub.2, and a regulator for converting the fixed voltage V.sub.1 derived from the DC-DC converter into a specified voltage and supplying the specified voltage to the controller 16 for the electric appliance. The DC-DC converter identifies the state of the air conditioner. When the electric appliance is identified to be in the standby state, the DC-DC converter reduces the fixed voltage V.sub.1, which is inputted to the regulator to a voltage lower than a voltage outputted in the operative state.

Earthquake detecting apparatus

A flow amount measuring and controlling apparatus which has a built-in gas meter can compute and control the flow amount used for each gas appliance by the estimation of the gas appliance generated in the flow variation from the change of the monetary flow amount passing through the gas meter, whereby, since the condition of the gas appliance can be correctly determined, the abnormal operation of the gas appliance can be detected so as to shut off the gas.

Flow amount measuring and controlling apparatus

A flow rate of gas is measured with a flow rate measurement means and a 'consumption state' defined with a combination of maximum flow rate, the total amount and a consumption time of the gas is therefor detected. The consumption state is compared with a reference consumption condition which is represented by a predetermined consumption state, and when the consumption state exceeds the reference consumption condition, supply of the gas is interrupted. Furthermore, a monitor range of the consumption state is formed, and when a consumption state is present in the monitor range, the reference consumption condition is changed.

Gas shutoff apparatus

A gas flow rate is measured and therefrom 'consumption state' defined by combination of maximum flow rate, increase of total amount and a consumption time of the gas is detected, and then, the consumption state is compared with a 'reference consumption condition' representing a predetermined consumption state; and when the 'consumption state' exceeds the 'reference consumption condition', a gas control means interrupt supply of the gas; and thereafter, after restoration of the gas control means to gas supply state, the actual gas consumption state is measured for a predetermined time counted by timer when the gas flow rate exceeds a predetermined level.

A flow rate of a gas is measured by a flow rate measurement means, and when the flow rate exceeds a predetermined reference value, occurrence of an abnormal state such as escape of the gas is detected and a shutoff means is automatically closed by control of a microcomputer, futhermore, 'a gas consumption pattern' showing combination of an amount of gas consumption, maximum flow rate and continuous consumption time of a consumer is observed in a predetermined time period, and a reference value of the gas consumption pattern is decided on the basis of the consumption state, moreover, a decision level of abnormal state is varied and set as a new reference values corresponding to the gas consumption pattern.

Gas shut-off system

An apparatus for atomizing a large quantity of liquid such as water, liquid fuels, lotions or the like, comprises an atomizer including a body having a pressurization cavity for containing a liquid. A nozzle base, mounted on the body, has a plurality of orifices communicating with the pressurization cavity. An electric vibrator, mounted on the body, responds to an alternating voltage derived from an electric circuit. The vibrator is vibrated back and forth, to expel successively a large quantity of liquid droplets of small and uniform diameter out of the orifices.
