A front body structure of a vehicle and a method of assembling the front vehicle body in such a manner that a nose unit having at least both a shroud panel and a shroud upper is mounted to a front vehicle body having on both right and left sides front fenders. A mounting portion is provided further inboard or lower than a mounting portion for the front fender. A fixing portion fixed to the mounting portion is formed on both ends of the shroud upper constructing the nose unit. Furthermore, a step portion which is a mounting portion for the nose unit is formed on the upper portion of the engine room and on further front and lower than the monting portion for the front fender mounted to the vehicle body.

Front body structure of a vehicle and assembling method

A vehicle body side member of a closed sectional construction extending in the widthwise direction of a vehicle body is provided between right and left roof pillars of a vehicle body and a first unit which comprises at least a cowl member and a windshield wiper system provided in the cowl member and a second unit which comprises at least an instrument panel and a steering system are mounted in the front of the vehicle body side member and in the rear of the vehicle body side member respectively. By this arrangement, the assembling operation of members and systems attached around a dash panel can be easier and accordingly, the simpler and faster operation can be planned. Also, the endurance efficiency for collision shock can be improved by restricting both units moving to the rear on a head-on collision by the above vehicle body side member.

Structure of a front body of a motor vehicle and a method of assembling

A vehicle rear body structure having a side sill structure of closed cross section extending substantially along the opposite sides of the floor panel and a transversely extending cross structure of closed cross section. The cross structure is connected with the floor panel and the side sill structure. The cross structure has a portion higher than the side sill structure and connected with the rear side panel of the vehicle body.

Vehicle lower body structure

An automobile rear body structure which comprises a hingedly supported rear door adapted to selectively close and open an access opening leading to a rear luggage compartment, a rear end panel partly defining the luggage compartment and extending widthwise of the body structure and a recess formed in the rear end of the floor panel at a location substantially intermediately of the width of the body structure for accommodating a wheel and tire in upright position. The rear end panel has a lower edge portion extending from a rear end of the floor panel in a direction generally perpendicular to the floor panel, and an upper edge portion bent so as to protrude in a direction towards the rear door while defining a rear lip region of the access opening. The frontwardly protruding upper edge portion of the rear end panel overhangs the wheel and tire located in the recess.
