A thermal transfer material applied with a cyan die which has features of improved thermal diffusibility, thermal resistance, and hue, is disclosed. The dye is represented by the following formula I: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents substituents; A and A' represent each an aryl group; X represents a hydroxyl group or --N(R)R' in which R and R' represent each an alkyl group allowable to have a substituent.

There is disclosed a light-sensitive photographic material which comprises a silver halide emulsion layer containing a first coupler dispersed in oil droplets, a second coupler dispersed in an alkali aqueous solution and a compound capable of releasing a diffusible development inhibiting substance or a precursor thereof. The specified combination of the first and the second couplers with the diffusible DIR coupler according to the present invention provide a good inter image effect whereby color images having excellent color balance are obtained. The first coupler is preferably selected from compounds of the formula (II), (III), (IV), (V), (VI), (VII) (VIII) which contain at least one lipophilic substituent; and the second coupler is preferably selected from compounds of the formula (IV), (V), (VI), (VII), or (VIII) which do not contain a lipophilic substituent: ##STR1##

The cyan coupler is represented by the following Formula I: ##STR1## wherein A represents an organic group; X represents a hydrogen atom or a group capable of splitting off upon a reaction with an oxidation product of a color developing agent; Z represents the group of atoms capable of forming a five or six-membered heterocyclic ring together with carbon and nitrogen atoms; Y represents a linkage group; and R represents a hydrogen atom or an organic group.

A silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed, which has a silver halide emulsion layer containing a novel cyan coupler represented by the following Formula I: ##STR1## wherein B is an organic group comprising a carbon atom, nitrogen atom, oxygen atom or sulfur atom directly bonded to the imidazole ring; R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each are a substituent; m is an integer of 0 to 4, n is an integer of 0 to 5, provided that the R.sub.1 S or R.sub.2 S each may be the same with or different from each other when m or n is 2 or more; and X is a group capable of being split off upon coupling reaction with the oxidation product of a color developing agent.

A light-sensitive silver halide color photographic material, comprising at least one photographic constituent layer containing a multi-functional dye which becomes substantially colorless in the presence of the oxidized product of a color developing agent through the reaction with the oxidized product, and becomes substantially colorless in the absence of the oxidized product of the color developing agent during the color-photographic processing step. According to the present invention, a color light-sensitive material containing a multi-functional compound having excellent sharpness, good color reproducibility and further excellent graininess can be obtained.

A color photographic material comprising a support and at least one layer thereon containing at least one compound of formula [I]: Formula [I] ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 each are defined in the specification and claims of this application. The compound of formula [I] is incorporated in a color photographic material to prevent the discoloration and fading-in-color of the color photographic material.

A method for forming a negative image comprising imagewise exposing a photographic material to provide exposed areas and unexposed areas, said material comprising, on a support, (1) an emulsion layer containing a light-sensitive silver halide, (2) unsensitized silver halide metallic salt grains which are more soluble in a developer than the light sensitive silver halide, and (3) nuclei for physical development, processing said material in the presence of a reducing agent and a solvent for said grains with said developer containing a substance which renders said grains less soluble by adsorbing thereto, said developer rendering said grains in said exposed areas and not in said unexposed areas soluble in said solvent, whereby metal ions are released and deposited on said nuclei.

A color photographic material comprising a support and at least one layer thereon containing at least one compound of formula [I]: Formula [I] ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 each are defined in the specification and claims of this application. The compound of formula [I] is incorporated in a color photographic material to prevent the discoloration and fading-in-color of the color photographic material.

The stability of a cyan dye image formed by phenol and naphthol couplers is improved with respect to 'dark fading' by incorporating in the silver halide color photographic material in which the dye image is formed at least one 2-phenyl benzotriazole compound having in the 2'-position an --OR group wherein R is an organic residue.
