Mixed powder of Cu&#x2014;In cuprous alloy powder and Cu&#x2014;Bi containing Cu-based alloy powder is used. A sintering condition is set such that Bi moves outside particles of said Cu&#x2014;Bi containing Cu-based powder and forms a Bi grain-boundary phase free of In, and In diffuses from said Cu&#x2014;In containing Cu-based powder to said Cu&#x2014;Bi containing Cu-based powder.

An object of the present invention is to provide a sliding member suitable to a soft mating member low in hardness. The present invention relates to a sliding member for sliding with a mating member having a ferrite phase at least on a surface thereof, the sliding member including a coating layer containing a binder resin, molybdenum disulfide, and hard substance particles.

With regard to an Al&#x2014;Cr&#x2014;Zr based alloy having annealing temper, a high temperature strength at 180 to 200 degrees C. is ensured. An aluminum alloy for a plain bearing having improved fatigue resistance is to be provided. An aluminum alloy for a plain bearing solving the problems has a composition of 3 to 7 mass % Mg, 0.1 to 0.3 mass % Cr, and 0.1 to 0.3 mass % Zr, with the balance being Al and inevitable impurities. A principal structure of the aluminum alloy consist of an Al matrix containing solute Mg, minute particles of Cr, and Zr.

Sliding bearing

The copper alloy (lining) prevails in an overwhelmingly large amount in a plain-bearing layer structure. Cu of the plain bearing copper-alloy diffuses into the Sn-based overlay diffuses into the Sn-based overlay and detrimentally impairs the performance of the overlay. The present invention takes a measure against this problem. An Sn-based overlay having a thickness of 3 to 19 &#x3bc;m is deposited by electro-plating without an intermediate layer for diffusion prevention on a plain-bearing layer, which contains Sn and Ni in a total amount of more than 4 mass % to 20 mass % (the minimum amount of Sn is 4 mass %) and has a hardness of Hv 150 or less.

Plain bearing

A slide bearing is described with a bearing metal layer on copper basis as applied to a carrier and a running layer made of an alloy of aluminum and tin which is applied physically onto the bearing metal layer in vacuum. In order to combine favorable resistance against wearing with a low inclination towards jamming with advantageous tribological properties it is proposed that the bearing metal layer consists of an alloy with 4 to 8% by weight of tin, 0.6 to 1% by weight of silver, 1 to 2% by weight of an iron phosphide and 0 to 0.15% by weight of carbon, preferably in the form of graphite, and the remainder of copper.

Slide bearing

A sliding bearing for an internal combustion engine including a copper-based bearing alloy including silver and tin upon which an overlay is applied. The overlay comprises resin and MoS , and the adherence of the overlay to the alloy is enhanced by a roughened alloy surface formed of grooves extending in the sliding direction.
