A lens holder for holding a taking lens is fitted in a lens barrel rotating and shifting. The lens barrel is provided with cams respectively inserted in pins of the lens holder. Each of the cams has a short-distance cam groove and a long-distance cam groove, and an oblique cam groove that connects the above mentioned cams. A flash selection switch slidable between an ON position and an OFF position. When the flash selection switch is in the OFF position, the pins are respectively located on the long-distance cam groove, so that the taking lens is set on a long-distance lens position to perform a daylight photography with pan-focus. When the flash section switch is slid to the ON position, the lens holder rotates by one of the pins. When the lens holder rotates, each of the pins respectively enters the short-distance cam groove and the taking lens is set on a short-distance lens position. The taking lens is focused on a short-distance zone to perform a flash photography. In the flash photography, if subject brightness is high, a stop plate enters a photographic light path to set a small stop aperture.

Lens-fitted film unit provided with focus adjusting mechanism

A lens-fitted photo film unit includes a main body. A cassette holder chamber in the main body contains a photo film cassette. A roll holder chamber in the main body contains a roll of photo film drawn from the photo film cassette. A front cover of transparent resin covers a front of the main body. A rear cover covers a rear of the main body. The roll holder chamber has a top wall portion and an end wall portion disposed farther from the cassette holder chamber. A first light-shielding ridge is disposed to project forwards from the rear cover and to extend horizontally, overlapped with the top wall portion, for blocking entry of ambient light at the top wall portion. A second light-shielding ridge is disposed to project forwards from the rear cover and to extend vertically, overlapped with the end wall portion, for blocking entry of ambient light at the end wall portion. The second light-shielding ridge extends to the first light-shielding ridge. Also, an exposure light path is formed through the front cover and the main body, for introducing object light to the photo film. A light-shielding ridge blocks entry of ambient light into the exposure light path through portions of the front cover outside the exposure light path. Furthermore, a taking lens is disposed in front of the main body. A lens opening is formed in the front cover in front of the taking lens, for introducing object light to the taking lens. A ring-shaped blocking projection portion is disposed inside an edge of the lens opening, for blocking advance of ambient light from the front cover to the taking lens outside a predetermined incident angle range.

An electronic flash device for a camera includes a flash emitting component, substantially quadrilateral, having vertical and horizontal side lines, for emitting flash light. A light reducing plate is disposed in front of the flash emitting component, extended in a vertical direction, and has a predetermined width in a horizontal direction. The predetermined width is shorter than the horizontal side lines. The light reducing plate intercepts a central portion of the flash emitting component. First and second lateral portions of the flash emitting component remain uncovered for illumination with a restricted amount of the flash light.

A lens-fitted photographic film package has at least an unexposed rolled film, a taking lens, a film transportiong mechanism, an exposure mechanism and an electronic flash as a whole contained in a light-tight case. The light-tight case comprises a main case section formed with a chamber containing therein light-tightly the unexposed rolled film and a front cover section attached to the main case section, the front cover section being formed with at least one opening for partially receiving therein a member of at least one of the mechanisms mounted on the main case section projecting beyond a plane defined by surfaces of the main case section in contact with an inner surface of the front cover section when the front cover section is securely attached to the main case section. The electronic flash unit is short-circuited to maintain the condenser of the flash unit discharged until the rolled film has been loaded in the light-tight case, so as to prevent accidental flashing that would expose the film. The lens-fitted photographic film package is enclosed in an external container having a weakened openable portion capable of being broken away from the external container to expose the contained rolled film for removal after exposure.

A mode change-over device for a mode change-over device for a pre-winding type camera in which, after a loading of a film patrone in the camera and before the shooting, a pre-winding of the film is conducted to fully pre-wind the film on a spool and, when the pre-winding is finished, a mode retaining member is unlocked so as to release a mode change-over member thereby operating a mode change-over switch for a shooting mode, such as to allow an unwinding of the film in a frame-by-frame fashion for each shooting exposure, while the mode change-over member is charged by an opening of a back lid of the camera, the mode change-over device comprising; a counter adapted to operate in response to winding and rewinding of the camera; a retaining member for locking the mode retaining member when the back lid has been opened erroneously or accidentally; and a counter engaging member which prevents the retaining member from locking the mode change-over member when the counter is in the initial position, whereas, when the counter is in the counting position, operates the retaining member for making the retaining member lock the mode change-over member.

Mode change-over device for pre-winding type camera

A pre-winding type photographic camera is provided with a mode changing mechanism for changing its operational mode between a pre-winding mode in which film is drawn out from a film magazine loaded in the camera and is taken up around the spool of the camera prior to photographing, and photographing mode in which the film is rewound into the film magazine by one frame each time the film is exposed. The mode changing mechanism is arranged to set the operational mode to the pre-winding mode by, in response to the opening of the backlid of the camera, bringing a mode changing member to a pre-winding mode position, and at the same time causing a force to be charged for bringing the mode changing member to a photographing mode position, and by retaining the mode changing member in the pre-winding mode position in response to the opening of the backlid of the camera, and is arranged to change the operational mode to the photographing mode by releasing the mode changing member in response to completion of the pre-winding mode operation, thereby permitting the mode changing member to move to the photographing mode position under the charged force. The mode changing mechanism is further provided with a magazine switch which is closed in response either to insertion or removal of the magazine and is kept closed until it is opened in response to the opening of the backlid of the camera. The magazine switch is inserted into the energizing circuit of the driving motor for driving the film in the pre-winding mode operation in series with the driving motor.

Mode changing mechanism for pre-winding type photographic camera

An exposure aperture frame defining an exposure aperture includes at least a pivotable partition member with an inclined guide surface on the inner wall thereof which is pivoted by and thereby permits advancement of a film leader to a film take-up chamber so that the film leader can reach a film take-up chamber without any standstill within the exposure aperture frame. The inclined guide surface permits the forward end of the film leader to ride across the partition member. A spring urges the partition member toward a position in which it encloses the exposure aperture frame. That spring also releasably retains the partition member on a shaft on which it is pivoted. The partition member has a platform member extending toward the take-up chamber, which has an opening therethrough that provides access to the spring.

In a camera of the type having a film supply chamber opening at the bottom of the camera into which a container including a coiled strip film with its leader previously drawn out is inserted for film loading, a film supporting apparatus for holding the loaded film flat in film plane comprises a pressure plate and a holding frame for resiliently holding the pressure plate in cantilever fashion. The pressure plate can be displaced in the direction parallel to optical axis of the camera for assured advancement of the film to a film take-up chamber.
