There is provided a developer that has excellent positive charging characteristics and charging stability, and which is compatible with high-speed developing. The developer of the invention contains toner particles and an insulating liquid, wherein a fatty acid ester is contained as the insulating liquid, a substance A expressed by the following formula (1) and/or a substance B expressed by the following formula (2) is further contained, and the total percentage in which substance A and substance B are contained is at least 0.1 wt % and no more than 3.0 wt %.

An liquid developer includes insulating liquid and toner particles dispersed in the insulating liquid. An average particle diameter of the toner particles based on volume is in the range of 0.7 to 3 &#x3bc;m, a width S of particle size distribution of the toner particles represented by the following formula (I) is 1.4 or less, and the insulating liquid include the unsaturated fatty acid glyceride:(90)&#x2212;(10)]/(50)&#x2003;&#x2003;(I),where D(X) represents the particle diameter at the point of X % in which X is the ratio of accumulated volume to the total volume when the volume is accumulated from the small particle diameter in the particle size distribution of the toner particles.

Liquid developer, method of preparing liquid developer, and image forming apparatus

A liquid developer is provided. The liquid developer comprises an insulation liquid, toner particles dispersed in the insulation liquid, a dispersant dissolved in the insulation liquid; and a charge control agent dissolved in the insulation liquid. The charge control agent is represented by the following chemical formula (I): wherein in the chemical formula (I) R1 represents an alkyl group or alkenyl group having a carbon number in the range of 8 to 22, and R2 represents a hydroxyalkyl group. The liquid developer has both superior dispersibility and a charge characteristic of toner particles. Further, an image forming apparatus is also provided.

Liquid developer and image forming apparatus

A liquid developer includes an insulating liquid; toner particles constituted by a material containing a polyester resin; and an alkyl diamine and an amide compound having a hydroxy fatty acid skeleton as dispersants.

A liquid developer includes an insulation liquid containing a fatty acid monoester and toner particles comprised of a resin material. The resin material is characterized in that a weight-average molecular weight Mw of the resin material is in the range of 20,000 to 200,000, and an amount of a component of which molecular weight M is 10,000 or less contained in the resin material is in the range of 5 to 40 wt %. The liquid developer described above is harmless to the environment. Further, the liquid developer also has superior preservability and storage stability and superior fixing characteristics at a low temperature. An image forming apparatus that can suitably use such a liquid developer is also provided.

A liquid developer includes: an insulating liquid; toner particles constituted by a resin material as a main component; and a dispersing agent expressed by Formula (I):HN&#x2014;R&#x2014;NH&#x2014;R'&#x2003;&#x2003;(I)(where, R denotes an alkylene group having a carbon number of 2 to 6 and R&#x2032; denotes an alkyl group having a carbon number of 8 to 24).

A liquid developer includes: an insulating liquid having dispersed therein toner particles, the insulating liquid containing a fatty acid monoester that is an ester of a fatty acid and a monohydric alcohol, and the insulating liquid having an aniline point of from 5 to 80&#xb0; C.

A liquid developer having superior fixing characteristic of toner particles to a recording medium and which is harmless to the environment, and an image forming apparatus using the liquid developer are provided. The liquid developer is comprised of an insulation liquid and toner particles dispersed in the insulation liquid, wherein the insulation liquid contains a first vegetable oil and a reaction product produced by an ester exchange reaction of a second vegetable oil and a monovalent alcohol.

A liquid developer includes an insulation liquid, toner particles dispersed in the insulation liquid, which at least a part of the surface of each of the toner particles contains a rosin resin and a dispersant improving dispersibility of the toner particles in the insulation liquid, which the dispersant is consisted of a material having a predetermined amine value. A liquid developer which has excellent preservability, storage stability for a long period of time, and fixing characteristic of toner particles and which is also harmless to the environment is provided. The liquid developer contains an insulation liquid and toner particles dispersed in the insulation liquid. The insulation liquid contains a saturated fatty acid and at least one component selected from a group comprising a linolenic acid component, a linoleic acid component and an oleic acid component. The liquid developer may contain an antioxidizing agent and an oxidation polymerization accelerator for accelerating an oxidation polymerization reaction of the linolenic acid component, the linoleic acid component or the oleic acid component during a fixing process.

Liquid Developer

A liquid developer contains an insulation liquid containing as its main component a glyceride of an unsaturated fatty acid, toner particles dispersed in the insulation liquid; and an oxidation polymerization accelerator for accelerating oxidation polymerization reaction of the glyceride during fixing process of the toner particles. The oxidation polymerization accelerator accelerates the oxidation polymerization reaction by supplying oxygen during the fixing process of the toner particles. The liquid developer may further contain an antioxidizing agent. Preferably, the oxidation polymerization accelerator is contained in the insulation liquid being encapsulated.
