An adhesive composition which is the crosslinked product of components which comprise (C) a copolymer of a (meth)acrylic ester having a weight-average molecular weight of 1,000,000 or greater, (D) 5 to 100 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of component (C) of an oligomer of (meth)acrylic esters having a weight-average molecular weight of 1,000 to 10,000 and (E) 0.001 to 50 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of component (C) of a crosslinking component comprising a difunctional crosslinking agent. The adhesive composition exhibits excellent adhesion with adherents, and stress relaxation and follows changes in the dimensions of substrates.

An adhesive optical component comprising an optical component and a layer which comprises an adhesive composition, the adhesive composition being disposed on at least one face of the optical component by coating a solution of the adhesive composition on the face of the optical component and drying the solution to form a laminate, the adhesive composition comprising (A) a copolymer of (meth)acrylic esters, (B) a crosslinking agent and (C) a phenol compound.

Adhesive optical component comprising an adhesive composition

An adhesive sheet including an adhesive composition disposed on at least one face of a film of acetyl cellulose, the adhesive sheet being produced by coating a solution of the adhesive composition on the face of the film and drying the solution to form a laminate, the adhesive composition containing (A) a copolymer of (meth)acrylic esters,(B) a crosslinking agent and (C) a phenol compound. The adhesive composition in the adhesive sheet serves to suppress degradation of easily hydrolyzable materials by hydrolysis, improve durability and provides excellent stress relaxation without using plasticizers.

An adhesive composition comprising a crosslinked product of (A) a copolymer of (meth)acrylic esters and (B) a crosslinking agent, and (C) a phenol derivative. A pressure-sensitive adhesive composition comprises, as pressure-sensitive adhesive components thereof, an acrylic-based polymer and a silane compound having at least two alkoxysilyl groups in its molecular. The silane compound is a compound which is represented by the following general formula (I). [General Formula (I)] ##STR1## (In this general formula, 'A' is a group having a chain structure and/or a ring structure containing 1 to 12 carbon atom(s), R.sub.1 and R.sub.4 are respectively an alkyl group containing 1 to 5 carbon atom(s), and R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are respectively an alkyl group or alkoxyl group containing 1 to 5 carbon atom(s).) The amount of the silane compound to be contained is preferably 0.001 to 10 parts by weight with respect to the pressure-sensitive adhesive composition of 100 parts by weight. Thus formed pressure-sensitive adhesive composition can sufficiently and effectively relieve a stress concentration which is caused by shrinkage of the base material under the high temperature and high moisture condition.
