Also a method for manufacturing the tube which can braze the tops of the beads with the opposed portions within the tube more securely and firmly than before.

Tube for heat exchangers and method of manufacturing the same

A tube for a heat exchanger which is formed to have beads for dividing passages for a medium in the tube by roll forming, wherein base portions of the beads are formed to have a thickness (B) greater than a thickness of a plate material for the tube. The roll forming has a first step of sequentially bending the plate to have a depressed shape to form portions-to-be-bead which are to be intermediate forms of the beads, a second step of performing a width drawing of the portions-to-be-bead and a third step of compressing the portions-to-be-bead, after the second step, in a direction of the height of the beads, wherein a width (w&prime;) of the depressions of the portions-to-be-bead ( ) in the first step is larger than a width (w) of depressions of beads ( ) after forming, and a height (h&prime;) of portions-to-be-bead ( ) after the second step is determined to be higher than a height (h) of the beads ( ) after forming. Thus, the tube for a heat exchanger having a pressure resistance of the base portions of the beads improved and a method for producing the tube for a heat exchanger which can decrease an uneven thickness of the plate when the beads are formed are obtained.

A heat exchanger comprises a plurality of tubes layered with fins intervened between them, header pipes disposed on the end portions of the tubes, and side plates for holding the tube layer, wherein each of the side plates ( ) is connected to a side plate insertion hole ( ) formed on the header pipe ( ) or ( ) by inserting its end portion ( ) into the side plate insertion hole and forming a taper on the end portion ( ) of the side plate ( ) to decrease a thickness toward the leading end ( ). Heat exchanger

The present invention provides fins utilized in an integrated heat exchanger that achieve a highly effective prevention of heat conduction, do not create any cuttings during their formation and achieve a high degree of dynamic strength and a method for manufacturing these fins. The fins are each provided with a heat transfer prevention portion at the apex located between tubes of adjacent heat exchangers and the fins are formed by implementing, at least, a slit formation step in which at least a pair of slits are formed over specific intervals at an approximate center of a fin material achieving a specific width along the direction of the width, a corrugating step in which the fin material is bent to achieve a corrugated shape so that the pair of slits are at the apex of the fin material along the direction in which the fin material advances, a heat transfer prevention portion formation step in which a heat transfer prevention portion is formed by folding the area between the pair of slits forming the apex portion to the opposite direction from the apex portion and a crest cutting step in which the corrugated fin material is cut to achieve a specific number of crests.

Fin for a one-piece heat exchanger and method of manufacturing the fin

A method of manufacturing flat tubes by forming a flat tube body from a single plate material which is continuously drawn from a drum by either folding it into two or placing two plate materials one upon the other, and cutting the flat tube body in a predetermined length. The method is characterized by the steps of placing the plate material with its inner surface facing downwardly at any selected stage before completion of folding the plate into two, or before completion of placing two plates one upon the other; fluxing the inner surface of the plate material with a liquid flux material, and drying the applied flux material.

Method of manufacturing flat tubes for heat exchanger

When forming a circular tube-shaped header pipe by rolling a plate material, surfaces extending at a right angle to the internal and external surfaces of the plate material are formed at the two side edges extending in the lengthwise direction, and the plate material is rolled in such a manner that the two side edges face opposite each other while setting the two side edges in a non-contact state. In this process, the gap between the two side edges is set at or less than 0.3 mm. In order to manufacture this header pipe, a plate material that has been cut to a specific length is trimmed in the direction of its short side to achieve a specific dimension and also at a right angle to the front and rear surfaces of the plate material. After a piping insertion hole is formed, the entirety of the plate material is rolled so that its cross section achieves a U-shape. A plurality of tube insertion holes are formed in this state and then, with only an upper die and a lower die, the two side edges of the plate material are rolled in a circular tube shape so that they face opposite each other. Any level misalignment between the side edge portions that face opposite each other can be prevented, and defective brazing is eliminated.

Heat exchanger and method of producing the same

In a flat tube formed by machining a brazing sheet, ridges 12a-12c are formed at each of the opposing flat portions 11a and 11b of the flat tube 4 along the lengthwise direction of the flat tubes so that the ridges contact the inner surfaces of each of the opposite flat portions. The width of the grooves of the ridges 12a-12c formed at the surfaces of the flat portions is set so that it is at the smallest end portions of the flat tubes 4 to achieve flatness at the end portions of the flat tubes 4. The end portions of the fins 5 are bonded at these flattened portions 15 (areas A) formed at the end portions of the flat tubes 4. Header pipes and the flat tubes are thus brazed in a reliable manner while achieving reinforcement of the end portions of the flat tubes to be inserted into insertion holes formed in the header pipes. Through a structure in which ridges are formed at the end portions of the flat tubes and, at the same time, flatness is assured at the end portions, a good yield of the brazing material is realized at the contact areas of the header pipes and the flat tubes.

In a heat exchanger which comprises by alternately laminating a plurality of tubes 2, 2 and fins 3, 3, communicatively connecting a header tank 4 to both ends of the laminated tubes, forming slits 11 at required points in the header tanks, and providing partition plates 9 in the slits to flow a heat-exchanging medium; recesses 12 are formed on the inner faces of the header tanks and near the slits where the partition plates 9 are positioned, and the partition plates 9 are provided with projections 15 to correspond with the recesses 12. Walls 4a, which are crushed when the partition plate 9 is inserted, are formed between the recess 12 and the slit 11.

In a laminated heat exchanger in which a heat exchanging medium flows into a specific tank portion via a communicating passage that is connected to a surface that is at a right angle to the direction of the lamination, a reinforced portion is formed in the tank portion that faces opposite the opening portion of communicating passage (communicating pipe). The reinforced portion minimizes the likelihood of a rupture at the shoal-like bead near the communicating passage, which is provided among shoal-like beads formed in an area where the tank portions change to a U-shaped passage portion.

Laminated heat exchanger

An end plate of a tank whose inside is partitioned by a partition has a plurality of insertion holes receiving connecting portions of tube elements. In the end plate, a first projection is distended and formed so as to run through narrow middle portions of the insertion holes, and a fit groove for the partition is formed on the inside of the first projection. Even when a core of the heat exchanger is put sideways on a furnace in a heat brazing method, brazing filler material can easily flow into the gaps between the insertion holes and the tube elements inserted into the insertion holes. As a result, good brazing can be performed.

A method of producing heat exchangers that two heat exchangers are produced simultaneously in one assembly line, being provided with a tube element unit having a pair of intake/outlet portions on the both ends thereof, a pair of medium passages communicating between a pair of the intake/outlet portions and a cutting portion in a middle portion thereof, and a pair of tanks arranged on both sides of the tube element units, the tube element units being maintained by the tanks provisionally, after brazing, two heat exchangers being separated by cutting the cutting portion.

Method of producing heat exchangers

A method of cutting a flat tube (6) into unit pieces, which includes moving in a transverse direction rotatable disc cutters (12) with knife edges so as to cut the upper and lower walls of a flat tube to form a pair of cutting grooves (15) and fixing the flat tube at a point upstream of the cutting groove while flexing in the vertical direction a length of the flat tube downstream of the cutting grooves to break it off at the cutting grooves, thereby providing a unit piece of a predetermined length.

Method and apparatus for cutting flat tubes

The present invention attempts to offer a heat exchanger apparatus capable of absorbing its compression during its soldering and of allowing an easy connection of its intake/outlet pipes to an expansion valve, wherein the expansion valve is mounted, via a joint member, on refrigerant intake/outlet pipes integrally installed on the core of the heat exchanger apparatus, and wherein said joint member has a securing means for securing one of said intake/outlet pipes, and a compression-absorbing means for the other one of said intake/outlet pipes to slide in the stacking direction of said heat exchanger apparatus. Then, said one of the intake/outlet pipes is secured when the heat exchanger apparatus is soldered in a furnace, while the other one of the intake/outlet pipes can slide toward the joint member according to the compression of the heat exchanger apparatus; thereby, the compression during the soldering of the heat exchange apparatus can be absorbed; the positions of the pipes are determined; the distance between both pipes, which have been secured under these conditions, can be determined.
