A meniscus of applying fluid is controlled by applying a voltage to a discharge-nozzle side electrode and a counter electrode placed downstream of the discharge nozzle and by increasing or decreasing fluid pressure inside a pump chamber with use of a mechanism for rotational motion or rectilinear motion.

Fluid applying apparatus

A method of applying fluid includes feeding fluid between two faces disposed with a gap maintained therebetween, and changing the gap between the two faces by driving an actuator for intermittently discharging the fluid filled in between the two faces. An input signal, in which a high-frequency component and a DC component are superimposed, is provided to drive the actuator in order to change the gap between the two faces, so that the fluid filled in between the two faces is intermittently discharged for fluid application.

Method and apparatus of applying fluid

An apparatus and a method for applying a fluid, which enable an application amount of the fluid to be stabilized even at the start of fluid discharge and at the end of the fluid discharge. The apparatus includes an application head and a control unit, whereby operational control is carried out so that a discharge member is rotated and moved in a discharge direction along an axial direction of the discharge member when the fluid is to be discharged, while the rotation of the discharge member is stopped and the discharge member is moved in a direction opposite to the discharge direction when the discharge is to be stopped. The application amount of the fluid to be applied can be stabilized even at the start of fluid discharge and at the end of the fluid discharge.

Apparatus and method for applying fluid

A method of discharging a fluid, includes feeding a fluid into a gap defined between two surfaces in a closed space, and relatively oscillating the two surfaces to apply relative oscillation with high frequency to the gap so as to occur a squeeze pressure to the gap, and thus intermittently discharging the fed fluid through a discharge port provided in either one of the two surfaces by using the squeeze pressure.

Method and device for discharging viscous fluids

The fluid discharge device includes an axial drive device for giving an axial relative displacement to between a piston and a cylinder, a device for giving rotary motion, and a device for pressure feed of fluid. The ON/OFF control of discharge flow rate can be fulfilled by changing the fluid resistance of the discharge passage with the axial drive device.

Fluid discharge device and fluid discharge method

A dynamic pressure type fluid bearing device includes: a shaft; a sleeve into which the shaft is fitted to be rotatable relative to the shaft; two dynamic pressure generating grooves provided on either peripheral surface of the shaft or the inner peripheral surface of the sleeve; and a lubricant held between the shaft and the sleeve. The device has a void, enclosing air, interposed between the two dynamic pressure generating grooves, wherein each of the dynamic pressure generating grooves is not less than four microns in depth and makes an acute angle of less than 20.degree. with a rotational direction of the shaft or the sleeve. The fluid bearing device can include: a sleeve; a shaft fitted into the sleeve, one end surface of which is in contact with a thrust bearing fixed to the sleeve; a dynamic pressure generating groove provided on either the inner peripheral surface of the sleeve or the peripheral surface of the shaft; and a lubricant provided to enclose a space between the shaft and the sleeve as well as the thrust bearing, wherein the dynamic pressure generating groove is not less than four microns in depth and makes an acute angle of less than 17.degree. with a rotational direction of the shaft or the sleeve.

Dynamic pressure type fluid bearing apparatus

A disk driving apparatus has, a chassis, a fixed shaft having one end attached to the chassis, a hub rotatably mounted around an outer circumferential surface of the fixed shaft and at least one disk mounted on an outer circumferential surface of the hub, the other end of the fixed shaft having a stopper thereon for engaging the hub for retaining the hub on the fixed shaft, a disk fixing plate positioned over the other end of the fixed shaft and fixing the one disk to the hub and having a surface opposed to the other end of the fixed shaft, a thrust bearing element movably mounted between the disk fixing plate surface and one of the other end of the fixed shaft and the stopper, and a hydrodynamic pressure generating groove formed in one of a herringbone pattern and a helical pattern and being on one of an outer circumferential surface of the fixed shaft and an inner circumferential surface of the hub.
