A base station includes a first area and a second area that are obtained by partitioning closed space by a partition wall. The first area includes a first device that controls communication and a liquid cooling device that sends a cooled liquid refrigerant to the first device. The second area includes a radiator that cools a liquid refrigerant by performing heat exchange with air, that supplies the cooled liquid refrigerant to the liquid cooling device, and that discharges the air used for heat exchange into the second area, and includes a second device that radiates heat by using the air discharged from the radiator and that performs a wireless process in accordance with control performed by the first device.

An electronic device is disclosed. The electronic device includes a chassis and at least one plugin unit mounted in the chassis. The plugin unit includes a substrate, a heat receiving member, a radiator, and a heat transfer member. The substrate mounts a first electronic component and a second electronic component having a higher heat release value than the first electronic component. The heat receiving member receives heat by contacting the second electronic component. The radiator is shaped as a duct. The heat transfer member transfers the heat from the heat receiving member to the radiator. The chassis includes a fan that generates air-current inside the radiator and on one or more component mounting surfaces of the substrate.

With respect to a housing device having a plurality of slots in which plug-in units are mountable, division plates corresponding to the positions of the openings of the slots are put in the inside of a baffle section for changing the direction of the flow of cooling air released from the slots, and the division plates are used to divide the inside space of the baffle section into a plurality of regions corresponding to the slots, thereby reducing mutual interference of the cooling air from the slots in the baffle section and preventing a further increase in differences in the amount of passing air among the slots. Thereby, even if any difference occurs in the amount of passing air among the slots due to a structural factor, it is possible to reduce the deterioration of the cooling capacity of a slot through which relatively less amount of air passes.

The communication device in which a plurality of electronic circuit boards are mounted to a back wiring board (BWB) includes a casing containing the electronic circuit boards as a unit, an intake fan unit for introducing air into the casing to cool the electronic circuit boards, and a discharge fan unit having a plurality of blower fans each arranged such that air intake and discharge directions thereof form an angle of nearly 90 degrees, the blower fans discharging the air introduced into the casing. Combined use of an axial fan and the blower fans permits air to be introduced into and discharged from the casing from rear and front sides, respectively, of the casing, whereby spaces that the fan units occupy in the communication device can be reduced.

The present invention relates to a fan unit used for forced air cooling, a motherboard with predetermined wiring formed as a wiring pattern, disposed on the rear face of an equipment, and an electronic equipment provided with the fan unit and the motherboard. It is an object of the present invention to reliably maintain appropriate forced air cooling at low cost. For this purpose, the fan unit of the present invention measures temperatures of predetermined places in parallel, processes each of combinations of these temperatures, outputs the processing result via lines whose number is equal to the number of the combinations, and maintains the revolving speed of fans at a value suitable for the processing result obtained via these lines.

The present invention relates to a thermal diffuser which having a path for close thermal coupling uniformly between an electronic component mounted in an electronic equipment and a desired thermal conductor, and also to a radiator for radiating heat generated in this electronic component via the thermal diffuser. The object of the present invention is to realize flexible adaptability to various devices which are to undergo temperature control at low cost, and to efficiently achieve the temperature control. For this purpose, the thermal diffuser of the present invention has a plate-shaped structure which can be welded or bonded to the case of the electronic component to undergo heat exchange with the exterior and has a channel formed in mesh by a plurality of protrusions with confined heat medium recirculating therethrough.

Those DS3 interface connectors of a customer interface section which are required only in the non-redundant arrangement are mounted on an expansion shelf, whereby the size of a shelf body is reduced and, in the case of redundant arrangement, the expansion shelf may be detached. Optical fibers can be introduced at a front side of the device from obliquely below to plug-in units, so that the optical fibers can be connected/disconnected without the need to pull out the plug-in units. Also, fiber trays are arranged at center and bottom levels, respectively, with respect to the height of the shelf body, and an upper part of each fiber tray is made smaller in width than a lower part thereof to thereby define a longitudinal opening, so that the optical fibers extending from the plug-in units can be introduced into the respective fiber trays through the openings.
