A grommet includes a grommet main body made of an elastic material and an inner member. The grommet main body includes a cylinder portion and a large diameter portion that is formed so as to extend toward the outer circumference side from the cylinder portion, a ring-shaped portion that can be arranged on the inner circumference side of the attachment hole being formed on the outer circumferential portion. The grommet main body is fit into the attachment hole from one end side in the attachment direction of the large diameter portion.

Grommet and grommet-equipped wire harness

A grommet () is mounted on a burred part () formed on an inner periphery of a through hole () formed on a panel (). The grommet () includes a small-diameter tubular portion (), a large-diameter tubular portion () and a coupling () connecting the small-diameter tubular portion () and the large-diameter tubular portion (). The small-diameter tubular portion () is held in close contact with an outer peripheral surface of the wire (), and the a large-diameter tubular portion () is fit on an outer peripheral side of the burred part () of the panel (). A rib () projects from an inner peripheral surface of the coupling () and covers at least a part of an inner peripheral surface side of the burred part () of the panel ().

Grommet

A corrugated tube with a path-maintaining member is provided with a corrugated tube having annular convex portions and annular concave portions alternately formed along a longitudinal direction, and a path-maintaining member attached to the corrugated tube along the longitudinal direction thereof. The path-maintaining member is formed as a long member die-molded to maintain a shape at least a portion of which is bent in the longitudinal direction and includes an arc-shaped portion in which a lateral-direction cross section exhibits an arc shape.

Corrugated tube with path-maintaining member and wire harness

A passage restricting member is attached to a corrugated tube. This corrugated tube includes a corrugated tube, a passage maintenance member, and an attachment member. The passage maintenance member is die-molded so as to maintain a shape in which at least a portion is curved in the longitudinal direction, and the transverse cross-section is arc shaped. The passage maintenance member has an opening penetrating to the internal peripheral side and the external peripheral side. The attachment member has an internal peripheral engaging part engaging with an internal peripheral portion of a slit in the corrugated tube, an external peripheral engaging part engaging with an external peripheral portion of the opening in the passage maintenance member, and a connecting part for connecting the internal peripheral engaging part and the external peripheral engaging part while disposed in the slit and the opening.

Corrugated tube provided with passage maintenance member, and wire harness

A corrugated tube assembly including a corrugated tube provided with a path-maintaining member. The corrugated tube has annular convex portions and annular concave portions alternately formed along a longitudinal direction. The path-maintaining member is a long member die-molded to maintain a shape at least a portion of which is bent in the longitudinal direction, and that is attached to the corrugated tube along the longitudinal direction thereof.

A half-pipe main body is formed so as to extend in the axial direction, has an area for installing a wire harness therein, and has a semi-circular structure in terms of the cross-sectional shape of the outer circumferential surface perpendicular to the axial direction. An anti-rotation section having a planar bottom surface is provided at the bottom of the outer circumference of the half-pipe main body. A pair of ribs is formed on the outer circumference of the half-pipe main body along the circumferential direction. Also, the ribs are formed, with a distance therebetween in the axial direction, on respective two side surfaces of the half-pipe main body that are separated by the anti-rotation section.

Wire harness exterior body

A grommet is fit externally to a wire harness to be wired in a vehicle and mounted in a through hole of a vehicle-body panel. The grommet has a small-diameter cylindrical portion molded of elastomer and through which the wire harness is tightly inserted. A radial projection in the form of bellows projects radially out from an outer peripheral position of an intermediate longitudinal part of the small-diameter portion. An outer peripheral portion is connected to the outer peripheral end of the radial projection. The outer peripheral portion has a conical tubular shape and is connected at an intermediate longitudinal position to the radial projection. An annular vehicle-body locking recess is provided on the outer peripheral surface of a large-diameter side of the outer peripheral portion. A small-diameter side is thicker than the radial projection portion.

Grommet for wire harness

When a grommet provided with a wire insertion tubular portion is mounted in a through-hole of a vehicle body panel by engaging a vehicle body engagement recess on an outer periphery of the grommet with a peripheral edge of the through-hole, the present invention prevents the wire insertion tubular portion from being caught by the peripheral edge of the through-hole, bending toward the vehicle body engagement recess side, and being wedged in between the peripheral edge of the through-hole and the vehicle body engagement recess, and thus enables the grommet to be securely mounted in the through-hole. A rib is provided between an outer peripheral surface on a central axis line side of a wire insertion tubular portion and a peripheral wall of a central tubular portion in order to reinforce a base on the central axis line side of the wire insertion tubular portion.

Waterproof performance of a grommet is stabilized, the grommet being inserted and engaged with a through-hole having a burring in a body panel. A grommet for a wire harness is externally fitted to the wire harness routed in a vehicle and is mounted to a through-hole from which a burring of a body panel projects. The grommet includes a one-piece molded component of one of rubber and elastomer and an annular body engagement recess in an outer peripheral surface of a tubular portion through which the wire harness is inserted. A size between two side surfaces that define a bottom surface of the body engagement portion is set to be less than a projection size of the burring projecting from a periphery of the through-hole. A projecting front end surface of the burring is wedged in and pressed into contact with one of the side surfaces to serve as a seal point.

A grommet includes an inner tube and an outer tube coupled to the inner tube by an annular coupling section. A slant wall section of the outer tube has a curved portion at a position having an outer diameter equal to an inner diameter of a through-hole in a vehicle body panel. The curved portion has a different inclination angle from the slant wall section. An inclination angle of the slant wall section at a larger diameter side with respect to the curved portion is set to be smaller than an inclination angle at a smaller diameter side with respect to the curved portion. The slant wall section is provided on an inner peripheral surface at the smaller diameter side with a bending stress absorbing portion of which an inner surface is recessed annularly to be a smaller thickness.

A grommet includes a small diameter tubular section and a large diameter tubular section contiguous with the small diameter tubular section. The large diameter tubular section is provided on the outer peripheral surface with a plurality of projecting portions that extend from a connecting part between both of the sections to a side wall of vehicle body engagement annular recess in an axial direction of the large diameter tubular section and are separated from one another in a peripheral direction of the large diameter tubular section. Each of the projecting portions includes an increasing diameter directing slant portion that extends from the proximal end point through the contact point to the bending point in parallel to the outer peripheral surface of the large diameter tubular section, and a decreasing diameter directing slant portion that extends from the bending point to the distal end point and inclines in a reversed slant direction.

A grommet includes an inner tube, an outer tube coupled through an annular coupling section to the inner tube and provided with a slant wall section. The outer tube is provided on a larger diameter end of the slant wall section with a larger thickness portion and an annular latch recess between the larger diameter end of the slant wall section and the larger thickness portion. The slant wall section has a plurality of stepped projecting ribs that extend radially from a smaller diameter end of the slant wall section to the larger diameter end. Each of the projecting ribs is provided on a stepped top surface with a first slant surface that is inclined down to the side surface end of the latch recess, and is provided on both side surfaces with a second slant surface and a third slant surface that are inclined down from the top surface across the first slant surface. The first, second, and third slant surfaces form a three- side-cut-away portion.

The invention relates to a grommet having an axis and configured to contain a wire harness and insertable into a through-hole formed in a vehicle panel. The grommet includes a tubular portion and a funnel-shaped portion, the latter including, sequentially from the tubular portion, a narrowed end section, a frusto-conical wall with external and internal faces, and an enlarged end section that includes an external face provided with a circular groove portion. The circular groove portion forms a circular ridgeline at a position nearest to the tubular portion. The frusto-conical wall includes a thin wall section having a substantially uniform thickness and extending from the narrowed end section up to a position about half way position along the axis in the frusto-conical wall, and a thick wall section having a substantially uniform internal radius and extending from the about half way position to and through the enlarged end section along the axis. The external face of the frusto-conical wall includes a plurality of shallow recesses which are arranged at given intervals therebetween around the circular direction and which extend from the narrowed end section towards the circular ridgeline, the shallow recesses leading to deep recesses near the circular ridgeline, whereby protrusions are formed adjacent to the shallow and deep recesses.

Grommet for a wire harness

A grommet has a plurality of projecting strip portions provided on an outer peripheral surface of a tapered portion, extending in an axial direction of the tapered portion and being spaced from each other in a circumferential direction. The grommet also has a plurality of grooves on the outer projecting strip portions. The grooves extend in the circumferential direction, and are configured to generate tactile sensation when the grommet is mounted into the through hole of the automobile body panel.

A grommet has a plurality of projecting strip portions provided on an outer peripheral surface of a tapered portion, extending in an axial direction of the tapered portion and being spaced from each other in a circumferential direction. The grommet also includes at least one sunken portion, which defines the outer peripheral surface of the tapered portion between adjacent projecting strip portions. The sunken portion includes a groove extending in an axial direction of the grommet.
