It is an object of the invention to provide a polymersome excellent in the safety and feeling in use; in particular, there is no sticky feeling but there is a good refreshing feeling; and with excellent base-agent stability. A polymersome of the present invention comprises a block-type alkylene oxide derivative represented by the following formula (I) as the membrane component:RO-[(EO)(AO)(EO)]&#x2014;R&#x2003;&#x2003;(I)wherein AO is an oxyalkylene group having 3 to 4 carbon atoms, EO is an oxyethylene group, m and 1+n are the average addition mole numbers for the oxyalkylene group and the oxyethylene group, respectively, and 1&#x2266;m&#x2266;70, 1&#x2266;l+n&#x2266;70; the percentage of the oxyethylene groups with respect to the sum of the oxyalkylene groups having 3 to 4 carbon atoms and the oxyethylene groups is 20 to 80 mass %; the addition pattern of the oxyalkylene groups having 3 to 4 carbon atoms and the oxyethylene groups is block-type; and Rand Rare identical or different hydrocarbon groups having 1 to 4 carbon atoms.

A skin treatment composition that characteristically contains alkylene polyglycol dineopentanoate having a specific structure. The object is to provide a skin treatment composition that gives a refreshing sensation at the time of application and contains an oil component that is highly safe with low skin irritation. The skin treatment composition specifically contains diethyleneglycol dineopentanoate, triethyleneglycol dineopentanoate, tetraethyleneglycol dineopentanoate, dipropyleneglycol dineopentanoate, tripropyleneglycol dineopentanoate, etc. Dipropyleneglycol dineopentanoate and tripropyleneglycol dineopentanoate are particularly preferable in terms of the sensation at the time of application; they provide a skin treatment composition that is particularly superior in absorption into the skin and a sensation of permeation and highly safe.

External preparation for the skin

The present invention is to provide a new compound having a rough skin improving effect, excellent in safety, excellent in texture in use, especially free of sticky feeling, excellent in refreshing feeling, and capable to improve the base agent stability as a component. Skin treatment composition

A gel composition having the formula RO-[(AO)(EO)(AO)]-Rcomprises (a) 0.1 to 60 mass % of a block-type alkylene oxide derivative, (b) an oil, and (c) 0.1 to 10 mass % of water. AO represents a C-Coxyalkylene group; EO represents an oxyethylene group; k and n represent average addition mole numbers of the oxyalkylene group and m represents average addition mole number of the oxyethylene group, 1&#x2266;m&#x2266;70 and 1&#x2266;k+n&#x2266;70. The oxyethylene group is 20 to 80 mass % with respect to the sum of the oxyalkylene group (AO) and the oxyethylene group. Rand Rmay be identical to or different from one another and are each a C-Chydrocarbon group or a hydrogen atom. When either X or Y is the above-described functional group, the other one can be a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, or an ethyl group.)
