A printer includes a memory storing instructions for authenticating a login user and determining whether a user identity information is included in a print data. When the user identity information is included in the print data, the instructions cause the printer to determine whether the login user is identical with a data sender user having sent the print data. When the login user is identical with the data sender user, the instructions cause the printer to print the pint data. When the login user is not identical with the data sender user, the instructions cause the printing portion to not print the print data. When the user identity information is not included in the print data, the instructions cause the printer to print the print data irrespective of whether the login user is identical with the date sender user.

Printer

In an image forming system, a first communication unit in a first image forming apparatus is controlled to transmit first data to a fifth communication unit in a portable terminal. The fifth communication unit is controlled to transmit second data to a third communication unit in a second image forming apparatus. Each of the first and second data includes image data specifying information and communication setting information. A fourth communication unit in the second image forming apparatus is controlled to establish second type communication between a second communication unit and the fourth communication unit in the second image forming apparatus based on the communication setting information. The fourth communication unit is controlled to transmit, to the second communication unit, a request for transmission of image data specified by the image data specifying information. The second communication unit is controlled to transmit the image data to the fourth communication unit.

Image forming system having plural image forming apparatuses

There is provided a printing apparatus including a sheet accommodation device including at least one sheet accommodation section which accommodates a sheet before printing, a printing unit which prints an image on a sheet based on print data stored in a storage area, a discharged sheet accommodation device including at least one discharged sheet accommodation section which accommodates the printed sheet, a control device which selects a combination of a sheet accommodation section and a discharged sheet accommodation section such that a storage device completes storing print data into the storage area by a conveyance starting time of a sheet to be printed based on the print data, and which control a conveyance device to feed the sheet to be printed based on the print data from the sheet accommodation section to discharge the sheet to the discharged sheet accommodation section of the selected combination.

Printing apparatus and program

In an image-forming device, an image-reading unit reads an image formed on an original document. A data-reading unit reads data stored in a storing member of the original document. A duplication-performing unit performs a plurality of duplication processes including at least an image/data-duplication process in which the duplication-performing unit forms the read image on a first recording medium having a storing member and writes the read data to the storing member of the first recording medium, and a data-duplication process in which the duplication-performing unit writes the read data to the storing member of the first recording medium without forming the read image on the first recording medium. A receiving unit receives an image/data-duplication instruction and a data-duplication instruction. The duplication-performing unit performs the image/data-duplication process if the receiving unit receives the image/data-duplication instruction, and performs the data-duplication process if the receiving unit receives the data-duplication instruction.

Image-forming device

A printer may be provided with a receiving device, a housing portion, a print device, a detecting device, a determination device, and a controller. The receiving device receives a print job including print data and type information specifying the type of print medium. The housing portion houses a print medium that has not been printed. The print device executes a print process that prints an image corresponding to the print data included in the print job on the type of print medium specified by the type information. The detecting device detects whether the housing portion is housing the type of print medium specified by the type information included in the print job. The determination device determines whether the print process based on the print job has been started. The controller controls the print device based on information detected by the detecting device and information determined by the determination device.

Management of print processes for a printer

An MFP places, in a standby state, a printing job (a first printing job) corresponding to a predetermined attribute among accepted printing jobs. A printing job other than the first printing job (a second printing job) is immediately processed. Then, the first printing job placed in a standby state is executed under condition of 'execution of an obtaining process triggered by start of a process of the second printing job'.

Image forming apparatus

An image-forming system includes a data-reading unit, a data-writing unit, and a restricting unit. The data-reading unit reads additional data from a first storing member of an original document. The data-writing unit writes the read additional data to a second storing member of a recording medium. The restricting unit gives a restriction to the additional data stored in the first storing member after the additional data is read, in order to prevent the additional data stored in the first storing member from being read subsequently.

Image-forming system

An image-forming system includes a transmission device and an image-forming device. The transmission device includes a transmitting unit that transmits image data, command data instructing to form an image corresponding to the image data on a recording medium having a storing part and to write embedded data to the storing part, and first selection data indicating whether or not the image should be formed when the embedded data cannot be written in the storing part. The image-forming device includes an image-forming unit and a controlling unit. The controlling unit controls, when the image-forming unit cannot write the embedded data in the storing unit, the image-forming unit to form the image if the first selection data indicates that the image should be formed, and to fail to form the image if the first selection data indicates that the image should not be formed.

An image forming apparatus is provided that may prevent wasteful image forming in a state in which the loss or partial loss can occur of an image portion. If the length of the supplied sheet in the transport direction is shorter than a regular size by a predetermined value or more, then the laser exposing operation based on the received image data of the second or subsequent pages is stopped.
