An ECU calculates a surface potential of a negative electrode active material relative to a lithium reference potential, according to a battery model for calculating lithium concentration distribution inside the negative electrode active material. The ECU calculates a voltage drop amount associated with charging of a battery, using a charging current to the battery and a reaction resistance, and calculates a negative electrode potential by subtracting the voltage drop amount from the surface potential. The ECU corrects the negative electrode potential, using an SOC of the battery, an average current in a charging period of the battery, and an integrated current in the charging period.

Secondary battery system and method for controlling secondary battery

When a traveling state of a vehicle is switched, the vehicle requests delivery of an update program from an OTA server. For example, when the vehicle travels with an occupant on board, the vehicle requests delivery of an update program for manned vehicle traveling from the OTA server. When the vehicle travels with an occupant not on board, the vehicle requests delivery of an update program for unmanned vehicle traveling from the OTA server. When the OTA server receives the request for delivery of the update program for manned vehicle traveling/unmanned vehicle traveling, the OTA server delivers the requested update program for manned vehicle traveling/unmanned vehicle traveling to the vehicle. The vehicle updates a diagnosis program using the received update program for manned vehicle traveling/unmanned vehicle traveling.

Vehicle

When a diagnostic period of a specific failure arrives, a management center transmits, to a vehicle, an instruction to order execution of a failure diagnosis of the specific failure. When an ECU of the vehicle receives the instruction to order execution of the failure diagnosis from the management center, the ECU of the vehicle determines whether or not the failure diagnosis can be executed. When the failure diagnosis cannot be executed, the ECU causes the vehicle to continue traveling without executing the failure diagnosis, and ends a process. In this case, the ECU postpones the failure diagnosis in the current diagnostic period, and executes the failure diagnosis when a next diagnostic period arrives. When the ECU determines that the failure diagnosis can be executed, the ECU executes the failure diagnosis.

A hybrid vehicle includes an engine, a motor, a power storage device, and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to limit execution of power storage capacity decreasing control and execution of power storage capacity recovering control when a condition a) and a condition b) are both satisfied than when the condition a) and a condition c) are both satisfied, a) is parking at a predetermined point is predicted b) a temperature of the power storage device is out of a predetermined temperature range, and c) the temperature of the power storage device is within the predetermined temperature range.

Hybrid vehicle and controller for hybrid vehicle

A power supply system includes a controller. The controller is configured to; a) control charging and discharging of an electrical storage device upon reception of an output of a current sensor and a voltage sensor, b) calculate a control current value by subtracting an offset value from a detected value of the current sensor, c) calculate a first determination result and a second determination result, respectively obtained by determining whether the electrical storage device is being charged or discharged based on the control current value, and based on a change in a remaining amount of charge of the electrical storage device, and d) when the first determination result and the second determination result differ from each other, change the offset value such that the first determination result coincides with the second determination result.

Power supply system for vehicle

An electric storage system includes plural electric storage elements, a voltage detection circuit, a discharging circuit, and a controller. The controller is configured to: (a) control an operation of the discharging circuit on the basis of the voltage values detected by the voltage detecting circuit, (b) determine a first reference voltage value indicating a lowest voltage value from the voltage values of the plurality of electric storage elements, (c) discharge the electric storage element indicating the voltage value of which a voltage difference from the first reference voltage value is greater than a first threshold value, and (d) set the first threshold value to a smaller value as the first reference voltage value becomes lower.

Electric storage system that detects voltage values of a plurality of electric storage elements

A power storage system includes a power storage device and a controller. The power storage device includes a plurality of power storage stacks connected in series. The controller controls a discharge processing based on voltage values of power storage elements in each power storage stack. The controller determines an abnormal state according to a voltage fluctuation after the voltage values are made uniform. The controller performs a first processing when the following conditions i) and ii) are satisfied and performs a second processing when the following conditions i) and iii) are satisfied. The condition i) is that the power storage elements included in the plurality of power storage stacks are divided into a plurality of groups, each group consists of the power storage elements included in a same power storage stack. The condition ii) is that the voltage values of the power storage elements are different in each group. The condition iii) is that, in the plurality of groups in each of which the voltage values are made uniform, the voltage values are different among the plurality of groups.

Power storage system

A concentration distribution in an active material of a battery unit is calculated by using a diffusion equation, and a first polarization elimination time taken for the concentration distribution in the active material to fall within an allowable range is calculated assuming that charge and discharge of the battery unit is not performed. A concentration distribution in an electrolyte of the battery unit is calculated by using a diffusion equation, and a second polarization elimination time taken for the concentration distribution in the electrolyte to fall within an allowable range is calculated assuming that the charge and the discharge of the battery unit is not performed. It is determined that polarization of the battery unit is eliminated when a time for which the charge and the discharge of the battery unit is not performed is longer than the longer one of the first polarization elimination time and the second polarization elimination time.

An estimation apparatus of estimating a deterioration state of a secondary battery has a current sensor measuring an electric current of the secondary battery, a current estimating section estimating the electric current of the secondary battery by using a battery model, and a deterioration estimating section estimating a second deterioration component produced in association with a salt concentration imbalance in the secondary battery. The deterioration estimating section estimates the second deterioration component by using the measured current obtained from the current sensor, the estimated current obtained from the current estimating section, and a first deterioration component produced in association with wear of the secondary battery. The deterioration estimating section corrects the estimated current by using a ratio between a resistance change rate of the secondary battery when the second deterioration component is eliminated and a resistance change rate during charge and discharge of the secondary battery.
