At least one of a first and a second lead blocks includes a first and a second base members, the first base member includes a first base portion and N terminals, the terminals include N first and second terminal portions, the second base member includes a second base portion and N or less terminals, the terminals include N or less first and second external terminal portions, the N conductor portions of the flexible cable are connected to the second terminal portions, and the second external terminal portions are connected to some of the first terminal portions.

Rotary connector equipped with versatile lead block

The present invention realizes a rotary connector which can largely set the height of an accommodating space for a flexible cable of the rotary connector. The rotary connector includes a movable housing comprised of a first rotor member and a second rotor member, a fixed housing having a cover, a flexible cable and a control member. The second rotor member includes an annular holding member which is protruded radially. The cover includes an annular wall portion and a bent portion which is contiguously connected to an inner peripheral end portion of the wall portion which is formed by bending toward the inside of the housing. The control member includes an annular base portion. The holding portion is arranged outside the bent portion. In the state that the bent portion and the holding portion are axially overlapped to each other, the fixed housing is latched by the movable housing and simultaneously an inner peripheral end portion of the base portion which is arranged at the inside of the wall portion is arranged such that the inner peripheral end portion and the bent portion do not overlap each other in the axial direction.

Rotary connector capable of largely increasing height of space accommodating flexible cable

A rotating connector including a movable body having a lower holder with an outer extension portion which faces a widthwise direction end of a flexible cable. The flexible cable has a connecting end portion which extends beyond the outer extension portion and which is connected to a stationary side connecting portion of a first housing. For example, a cutout is formed in the flexible cable to prevent an edge of the connecting end portion of the flexible cable and the outer extension portion from contacting each other at a location where they cross each other. Using a simple structure, the rotating connector which makes it possible to reduce the level of sliding noise produced when sliding occurs between the flexible cable and the outer extension portion of the lower holder of the movable body.
