Provided is an absorbent article having a top sheet with an opening-formed area in which openings are formed, and non-opening-formed areas in which no openings are formed, said absorbent article being capable of preventing liquid from remaining on the surface of the opening-formed area of the top sheet. In the present invention, the top sheet is a resin sheet having an opening-formed area () in which openings are formed, and non-opening-formed areas () in which no openings are formed. The opening-formed area () is disposed in an outlet-facing area () that faces at least an outlet for fluid from a wearer. The top sheet () has a blood modifier layer on the surface of at least the outlet-facing area (). The blood modifier of the blood modifier layer has an inorganic/organic balance (IOB) of 0 to 0.60, a melting point of not more than 45&#xb0; C., and an aqueous solubility of 0.05 g or less with respect to 100 g of water at 25&#xb0; C.

Absorbent article

An individual package for an absorbent article is provided with the absorbent article and a wrapping body containing the absorbent article. The absorbent article has a main body extending in a longitudinal direction and a pair of flaps extending from the main body in opposite directions along the longitudinal direction. Each of the main body and the pair of flaps has a fixing section and the main body and the pair of flaps are fixed to the same face of the wrapping body with the fixing sections interposed therebetween. The wrapping body is provided with a pair of bonding regions bonding the wrapping body, the bonding regions being located outward in the widthwise direction and each having a bonding section and a non-bonding section. The fixing sections of the pair of flaps and the non-bonding sections overlap in the widthwise direction.

An absorbent article is provided to prevent pulp fibers and a superabsorbent polymer that constitute an absorbent body from leaking from openings, even if a top sheet does not cover the side wall portions of the absorbent body at the openings. At the openings of the top sheet and the openings of the absorbent body, the top sheet is detached from the absorbent body. A pair of gathers of an absorbent article has a three-dimensional configuration part. The three-dimensional configuration part is formed so as to construct a hollow. A first junction edge portion is formed on the inward side in the width direction of the absorbent article and a second junction edge portion is provided on the outward side in the width direction of the absorbent article. The first junction edge portion is located on the area of the surface layer on which the absorbent body is disposed. The second junction edge portion, in at least the area where the pair of wings are disposed, is located on the area of the surface layer and/or backside layer more outward in the width direction than the periphery of the absorbent body.

A sanitary napkin comprises an absorbing body. The absorbing body includes a fluid-permeable top sheet, a fluid-impermeable back sheet, and an absorber arranged between the top sheet and the back sheet. The napkin comprises a cover sheet for covering the surface of the top sheet. A circumferential edge region of the cover sheet is joined to the absorbing body. A plurality of flaps for fixing the absorbing body to underwear are sectionalized by a sectionalizing line in the central region of the cover sheet. At the time of use, the flaps are folded in the folding regions and are expanded so as to be fixed to the underwear.
