A glass bonding material contains vanadium and phosphor as main glass components, and comprises in amounts converted as oxides of the elements in the components, 45 to 60% by weight of VO, 15 to 30% by weight of PO, 5 to 25% by weight of BaO, or contains a glass comprising at least vanadium, phosphor, barium and antimony, wherein the glass comprises in amounts converted as oxides, 15 to 35% by weight of BaO and SbOin total, and a weight ratio of BaO/SbOor SbO/BaO is 0.3 or less.

Display apparatus

A sealing glass of a low melting point phosphate glass composition contains 15 to 35% of BaO and SbO(in total) and the ratio by weight of BaO to SbOor SbOto BaO is 0.3 or less. Particularly the transition metal is vanadium and the glass contains VOof 45 to 60 wt % as vanadium oxide and POof 15 to 30 wt % as phosphorus oxide. The bonding material is a mixture of a filler and a vanadate-phosphate glass that contains VOof 45 to 60%, POof 20 to 30%, BaO of 5 to 15%, TeOof 0 to 10%, SbOof 5 to 10%, and WOof 0 to 5%. The particle size of the filler is in the range of 1 to 150 &#x3bc;m and the ratio of filler is 80% by volume or less of the adhesive glass.

A bonding glass containing VO: 25 to 50 wt %, TeO: 20 to 40 wt % and BaO: 5 to 30 wt %, and not containing lead.

Display device and production method thereof

It is an object of the present invention to provide a spacer which has an adequate Young's modulus for a spacer used in an image display panel and allows free adjustment of an electric resistance value, and an image display panel using the spacer. The spacer SPC holds a gap between a back panel PNLincluding a signal line CL, a scanning line GL, and an electronic source ELS provided for the main surface of a back substrate SUB, and a front panel PNLincluding a fluorescent material PH, a black matrix BM, and an anode AD provided for the main surface of a front substrate SUB. The spacer comprises phosphate glass including the same transition metal element with different valences. For electrical conduction, the included same transition metal element with different valences allows the use of hopping conduction between transition metal atoms with different valences to perform adjustment of electric resistance relatively easily. The transition metal element is at least one of vanadium (V), tungsten (W), molybdenum (Mo), niobium (Nb), and iron (Fe).

Spacer and image display panel using the same

Through an improvement of module size increase due to mounting a single passive element on a substrate and an increase in the mounting cost, to provide a highly reliable, high performance and small sized electronic circuit component which permits to integrate a variety of electronic parts such as capacitors, inductors and resistors in a high density with low cost. The electronic circuit component comprises an insulator substrate, a plurality of electrodes having different areas provided on the insulator substrate, one or more elements selected from a capacitor element of dielectric material sandwiched between the electrodes, an inductor element and resistor element, a metal wiring connecting the elements, a metal terminal part of a part of the metal wiring and an organic insulator material covering the elements and the circumference of the metal wiring portion excluding the metal terminal portion.

Electronic circuit component

A wiring glass substrate includes a glass substrate formed of glass and having a plurality of holes formed at predetermined positions, bumps so formed as to be connected to a conductive material filling the holes and wirings formed on a surface opposite to a surface having the bumps formed thereon and electrically connecting a plurality of connection terminals arranged in intervals different from intervals of the holes to the conductive material. The shape of the conductive material is porous and porous electrodes are bonded to the inner wall surfaces of the holes by an anchor effect to increase the strength of the glass substrate.

Wiring glass substrate for connecting a semiconductor chip to a printed wiring substrate and a semiconductor module having the wiring glass substrate

A conductive material comprising a VO&#x2014;POglass and a second phase dispersed in the VO&#x2014;POglass, wherein the second phase contains a crystalline V and O compound and a crystalline metal phosphate compound. The crystalline V and O compound is at least one of VO, VO, VO, and VO. The metal phosphate compound is a phosphate compound of transition metal or alkaline-earth metal. In a visual display device, glass spacers are bonded to glass panels with the conductive material.

Conductive material, method of producing the same, visual display device, and glass spacer thereof

A glass substrate for a magnetic disk contains a transition metal. The substrate, which is subjected to formation of zone texturing by irradiating the substrate with a laser beam, has a high mechanical strength even if it is not chemically strengthened. The glass substrate contains a transition metal element and has a transmittance of 10% of less for light in a wavelength range of 300 to 2000 nm. The surface roughness of an information recording surface portion thereof is 2.0 nm or less. In addition to a transition metal element, the glass substrate may include a rare earth metal element.

In accordance with the present invention, a glass substrate of a disk for recording information, containing oxides of rare earth elements and fine particles dispersed therein, and a disk for recording information and a disk apparatus for recording information using the glass substrate of the disk are provided. The glass substrate of the disk for recording information having preferable mechanical characteristics, as well as superior chemical stability, thermal stability, flatness, and transparency is provided, and a disk for recording information and a disk apparatus for recording information using the glass substrate of the disk are provided.

A compound constructed by N (N is an integer of 2 or more) kinds of phases containing at least one kind of elements selected from a group consisting of Co, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Si, Pb, Bi and Al. At least one kind to (N&#x2212;1) kinds among the N kinds of phases are continuous phases, and the other phases are discontinuous phases.

Optical information recording medium

A semiconductor connection substrate which connects a semiconductor element to a mounting substrate such as a printed substrate comprises an insulator substrate, a plurality of electrodes having different areas provided on the insulator substrate, one or more elements selected from a capacitor element of dielectric material sandwiched between the electrodes, an inductor element and resistor element, a metal wiring connecting the elements, a metal terminal part of part of the metal wiring and an organic insulator material covering the elements and the circumference of the metal wiring portion excluding the metal terminal portion.

Semiconductor connection substrate

The object of the present invention is to provide an optically functional element having a large change in refractive index with temperature change and a fast change rate in refractive index, a production method for the same and optical switch, temperature sensor and optical information recording medium using the same. The present invention provides a thin film formed directly on a substrate or via other layers, and the film is composed of particles with an average diameter of not larger than 13 nm, observed at film surface. The present invention also provides an optically functional element having an amount of change in refractive index of not less than 2.0&#xd7;10/&#xb0; C. The present invention further provides a production method for said thin film by sputtering under reduced pressure in an inert gas atmosphere containing 3-15% by volume of oxygen, and optical switch, temperature sensor and optical information recording medium using said element.

Optically functional element and production method and application therefor

A glass substrate for a magnetic disk contains a transition metal. The substrate, which is subjected to formation of zone texturing by irradiating the substrate with a laser beam, has a high mechanical strength even if it is not chemically strengthened. The glass substrate contains a transition metal element and has a transmittance of 10% or less for light in a wavelength range of 300 to 2000 nm.
