The present invention improves the drainability of lubricating oil at a thrust bearing. The present invention comprises: a rotating shaft; a thrust bearing that is provided to the rotating shaft and restricts the axial-direction movement of the rotating shaft; and an oil reservoir part () that has formed therein an oil reservoir space () that is provided to be adjacent to the thrust bearing in the axial direction and to open downward, the oil reservoir space () having formed therein an inclined surface () that, in a region that is in and below a horizontal plane H that passes through the center of the rotating shaft, protrudes to the thrust bearing side and is inclined along the rotational direction of the rotating shaft.

A turbocharger according to one embodiment of this invention includes: a rotation shaft; a compressor impeller; a compressor housing; a bearing housing connected to the compressor housing and configured to define a diffuser flow path between the bearing housing and the compressor housing; a thrust plate configured to support the rotation shaft in an axial direction; an insert component configured to retain the thrust plate between the insert component and a protruding wall portion in the bearing housing; a snap ring configured to be inserted in a first circumferential groove formed in an inner peripheral wall surface of the bearing housing, to thereby fix the insert component in a state in which the insert component is pressed against the thrust plate; and a diffuser component having a diffuser surface extending along a direction orthogonal to an axis of the rotation shaft between the inner peripheral wall surface of an end portion of the bearing housing on one side thereof and an outer peripheral edge of the compressor impeller.

Reduce bearing loss due to lubricating oil using a rotary shaft; a journal bearing that is provided to the rotary shaft and that rotatably supports the rotary shaft; a flange part having an opposing surface part that is arranged so as to oppose a side surface part of the journal bearing with a gap therebetween in the axial direction in which the rotary shaft extends; and a recess part provided in the side surface part or the opposing surface part. In the projected area of the journal bearing in the axial direction, the area of a section including the recess part and not forming the gap is larger than the area in which the side surface part and the opposing surface part form the gap.

This turbocharger includes a rotating shaft extending along an axis, a turbine wheel provided at a first end portion of the rotating shaft, a compressor wheel provided at a second end portion of the rotating shaft, a housing accommodating at least a portion of the rotating shaft, bearings provided in the housing and configured to support the rotating shaft, supply flow paths supplying lubricating oil to the bearings, a discharge oil chamber formed in the housing and to which the lubricating oil is discharged from the bearings, and an oil drainage port formed below the discharge oil chamber, in which at least one of the discharge oil chamber and the oil drainage port is formed to be asymmetric between a first region and a second region defined by a vertical plane including the axis of the rotating shaft as a boundary plane.

A turbocharger according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a rotating shaft, a compressor, a turbine, a compressor-side floating bearing and a turbine-side floating bearing that rotatably support the rotating shaft, and a bearing housing that houses the compressor-side floating bearing and the turbine-side floating bearing, the bearing housing being internally provided with a turbine-side oil feeding passage through which oil to be fed to the turbine-side floating bearing flows and a compressor-side oil feeding passage through which oil to be fed to the compressor-side floating bearing flows. A ratio of an oil feeding pressure for oil at an outlet of the compressor-side oil feeding passage to an oil feeding pressure for oil at an outlet of the turbine-side oil feeding passage is configured to be higher than 1.0 and lower than 1.5.

An oil-drain device for a thrust bearing includes: a rotor shaft; a collar member mounted to an outer periphery of the rotor shaft; a thrust bearing supporting the rotor shaft in an axial direction; and an oil-drain space forming member defining an oil-drain space through which lubricant oil leaking from a sliding portion of the thrust bearing flows, between the thrust bearing and the oil-drain space forming member. The oil-drain space includes: an oil-drain channel defined between a first end surface of the thrust bearing and a first end surface of the oil-drain space forming member, surrounding the flange portion of the collar member; and an oil-drain port formed below the oil-drain channel, for discharging the lubricant oil flowing through the oil-drain channel outside the oil-drain space. The oil-drain space is configured to guide the lubricant oil flowing through the oil-drain channel to outside the oil-drain space via the oil-drain port, along a flow direction of the lubricant oil flowing through the oil-drain channel from an upstream side toward a downstream side in a rotational direction of the rotor shaft.

An object is to provide a floating bush bearing device including a circumferential groove over the entire circumference of an outer peripheral surface of a floating bush while ensuring that a pressing force is applied by lubricant oil to the floating bush to reduce oscillation, as well as a turbocharger provided with the bearing device. A floating bush bearing device includes: a rotary shaft disposed rotatably inside a bearing hole of a casing; a floating bush surrounding the rotary shaft; an oil-feed hole of lubricant oil having an opening on an inner peripheral surface of the bearing hole; a plurality of communication holes formed on the floating bush, each extending between an inner peripheral surface and an outer peripheral surface of the floating bush, and disposed at intervals in a circumferential direction of the floating bush; and a circumferential groove formed on the outer peripheral surface of the floating bush or the inner peripheral surface of the bearing hole and extending over an entire circumference of the outer peripheral surface of the floating bush or the inner peripheral surface of the bearing hole, the circumferential groove passing through openings of the plurality of communication holes or facing the openings of the plurality of communication holes. The circumferential groove has a cross-sectional area which varies in accordance with a circumferential position.
