A yarn piecing method for a yarn spinning machine including a yarn processing portion comprising a drafting unit, a yarn forming unit, and a yarn winding unit and a yarn piecing unit for piecing an end of a yarn spun from the yarn forming unit with an end of a yarn withdrawn from a yarn package, the method including the steps of guiding yarns to be pieced to each other to a yarn sensor before a yarn piecing operation is carried out, detecting whether any yarn defect exists on one or more of the yarns to be pieced, and determining to carry out the yarn piecing operation when no yarn defect is detected and not to carry it out when a yarn defect is detected.

Yarn piecing method for yarn spinning machine

A non-woven fabric suitable for clothing manufacture, comprising a fiber web substantially formed of a continuous filament of a synthetic fiber, wherein a plurality of weakened portions in a form of a scratch or a crack are distributed on the filament constituting at least one surface of the fiber web. Some of the weakened portions are broken to form free ends, some of which are projected from the fabrice surface to form a short fluff, and some of the remaining ends are embedded in the interior of the fiber web and entangled with the filament. The weakened portions of the filament are provided by nipping the fiber web between a pair of rollers, at least one of which has a rough surface formed of a plurality of prominences of hard particles. A punching treatment of the fiber web after the weakened portions has been imparted is effective for breaking the filament to form short fluffs on the fabric surface and for entangling the filaments with each other. A resin treatment before the punching treatment is also favorable.

Non-woven fabric and method for producing same

An apparatus and method for producing a spun yarn having true twist comprising extracting staple fibers from a bundle of staple fibers; and collecting the extracted staple fibers on the periphery of a spinning rotor; and recontacting the extracted fibers with the bundle of staple fibers to form a combined untwisted yarn; and twisting the combined untwisted yarn to produce a twisted yarn; and withdrawing the twisted yarn from the spinning rotor.

Method and apparatus for producing spun yarn

Apparatus for manufacturing fasciated spun yarn by false-twisting and detwisting a bundle of fibers is provided. The apparatus has a fiber-diffusing section which utilizes differential fluid flow to separate and transfer free fibers in a stable manner for subsequent wrapping about the fiber bundle as the bundle is detwisted.

Multicolored yarn and method

A process for producing a twisted yarn is provided. A sheaf of staple fibers is drafted and bundled to form a bundled sheaf of staple fibers having substantially zero initial twist. At least two such bundled sheaves are then twisted together to form the twisted yarn.

Process for producing a twisted yarn

Herein disclosed is a spinning frame of vortex flow type, which is composed mainly of a roller draft unit, a pneumatic false twisting unit and a take-up unit. A pneumatic tube having a rectangular cross-section is interposed between the roller draft unit and the pneumatic false twisting unit so that many floating fibers to be fasciated may be generated to make a fasciated spun yarn which has high strength and excellent quality.

Apparatus for making fasciated spun yarn

A process for making a fasciated spun yarn by drafting and pneumatically false twisting a bundle of staple fibers is disclosed. In the method, the width W (mm) of a bundle of fibers measured just upstream of the nip point of a pair of second rollers of a drafting zone and a yarn count N (Nm) of the spun yarn are set to satisfy the following equation: ##EQU1## and the overfeed ratio of the bundle of fibers during the false twisting operation is 5% at most. The fasciated spun yarn made by this process has a straight shape, resembles a ring-spun yarn and has sufficiently stable strength.

Process for making fasciated spun yarn

Disclosed herein is a twisted yarn comprising at least two bundled sheaves of staple fibers, each sheaf having an initial twist of substantially zero, the sheaves of staple fibers being mutually twisted to form the yarn. The coefficient of finishing twist utilization as defined in the specification is at least 150%. Also disclosed is a method of producing a twisted yarn comprising drafting a sheaf of staple fibers, supplying the sheaf to a bundling zone to reduce it to a bundled sheaf having an initial twist of substantially zero, drafting another sheaf in a similar manner, doubling at least two such bundled sheaves of staple fibers, and twisting them together.
