A power converter apparatus that includes a substrate, plate-like positive and negative interconnection members, and capacitors is disclosed. Pairs of groups of switching elements are mounted on the substrate. Each of the positive interconnection member and the negative interconnection member has a terminal portion. The terminal portion has a joint portion that is electrically joined to a circuit pattern on the substrate. The switching elements are arranged in the same number on both sides of the joint portion of at least the positive interconnection member of the positive and negative interconnection members.

Power converter apparatus

A reservoir tank includes a main portion and a storage chamber disposed in the main portion for storing operating fluid, with the storage chamber being surrounded by a side wall, a ceiling portion and a bottom portion. A float is disposed in the storage chamber and is adapted to move vertically corresponding to the height of the operating fluid level, and a reed switch is operatively associated with the float so as to operate in accordance with the height of the float. A partition member divides the storage chamber into an upper space and a lower space in which the operating fluid and the float are disposed.

Hydraulic braking pressure control apparatus for automotive vehicle

In an electromagnetic valve device, in order to secure a core assembly to a housing, an annular spacer is used. The annular spacer is fitted between a conical inner surface of a receiving portion of the housing and a conical opening of a casing. Since the conical opening of the casing is mounted on a tapered surface of a stationary core accommodated in the receiving portion of the housing, the core assembly is secured to the housing.

Electromagnetic valve device

A brake control device for vehicles includes a master cylinder, a plurality of wheel cylinders, and an anti-lock control apparatus disposed between the master cylinder and the wheel cylinders of at least one hydraulic circuit. The anti-lock control apparatus includes a hydraulic pump, a reservoir and a changeover device which is selectively changed over at least between a first condition which permits an increase in the hydraulic pressure of the wheel cylinders of at least one hydraulic circuit and a second condition which permits an decrease in the hydraulic pressure of the wheel cylinders of at least one hydraulic circuit in response to the locking condition of the road wheels. The hydraulic pump includes a housing, a slidable piston device for defining a pump chamber which is communicated with the reservoir and the changeover device at a side of one end thereof in the housing, an inlet check valve disposed between the pump chamber and the reservoir for permitting fluid communication from the reservoir to the pump chamber and for interrupting fluid communication from the pump chamber to the reservoir, an outlet check valve disposed between the pump chamber and the changeover device for permitting fluid communication from the pump chamber to the changeover device and for interrupting fluid communication from the changeover device to the pump chamber, and a piezo element for reciprocating the piston device disposed at the other end of the piston device.

Anti-lock brake circuit with a piezo hydraulic pump and changeover valve

A brake fluid pressure controller is interposed between a master cylinder and the rear wheel cylinders. The controller comprises a housing having an inlet, an outlet and a chamber which provides communication between the inlet and the outlet. An annular sealing member is disposed around a piston in the chamber with a clearance left therebetween. The sealing member has an inner perimeter defining a valve seat and an outer perimeter defining a flexible lip portion which is in contact with the internal wall of the chamber. When a valve head of the piston sits on the valve seat of the sealing member, the inner perimeter of the valve seat cuts off the communication between the inlet and the outlet. Meanwhile, the outer perimeter permits a communication from the outlet to the inlet but shuts off a communication from the inlet to the outlet. A spring urges the piston to a direction in which the valve head separates from the valve seat. A regulating member contacts the inner perimeter of the sealing member in the chamber from a side opposite to the valve head. The regulating member regulates the sealing member from moving in a direction from the valve head toward the regulating member.

Brake fluid pressure controller

A proportioning valve is interposed between a master cylinder and rear wheel cylinders and includes a housing within which are accommodated a piston with a valve head, an opposed valve seat thereby and a spring urging the piston to thereby remove the valve head from the valve seat. The valve head and the valve seat cooperate to open and close the fluid circuit between the master cylinder and the rear wheel cylinder to reduce the hydraulic pressure when the hydraulic pressure delivered from the master cylinder exceeds a set value. In order to supply hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder to the rear wheel cylinders when fluid leakage or the like occurs at the front wheel side, a sleeve enclosing the spring in the housing is brought into engagement with the piston to prevent engagement of the valve head and the valve seat.

Dual hydraulic brake system

A fluid pressure control valve incorporated with dual hydraulic braking circuits connecting a tandem master cylinder to the left and right rear-wheel brake cylinders in a vehicle braking system. The control valve includes a pair of proportioning valves respectively disposed within the hydraulic braking circuits for modulating the hydraulic pressure applied to the rear-wheel brake cylinders, a pair of control plungers axially movable in response to fluid pressure in a hydraulic chamber to vary the spring load each acting on the proportioning valves, and a single inertia-controlled valve provided within an inlet pressure chamber of the control valve to interrupt the flow of fluid from one of the hydraulic braking circuits into the hydraulic chamber when a deceleration in excess of a predetermined value is attained.

Fluid pressure control valve for vehicle braking system

A brake pressure control system for a wheeled vehicle includes a swingable lever pivotally mounted at a first end portion thereof to a sprung mass of the vehicle such as a body frame, a first tension coil spring connected at a first end thereof to the sprung mass and at a second end thereof to a second end portion of the swingable lever to bias the lever toward the sprung mass, a second tension coil spring connected at a first end thereof to an unsprung mass of the vehicle such as a wheel axle and at a second end thereof to the second end portion of the swingable lever to bias the lever against the biasing force of the first spring, a bushing rotatably mounted on the second end portion of the swingable lever, the bushing being formed with a first support portion for retaining the second end of the first spring and a second support portion for retaining the second end of the second spring, and a modulator valve secured to the sprung mass and incorporated in a hydraulic connection between a master cylinder and a wheel brake cylinder, the modulator valve having a spring-loaded valve member which is carried on the swingable lever to be applied with a biasing force proportional to the vehicle load.

Brake pressure control system of vehicle load responsive type

In a brake pressure control device having an inlet port for connection to a master cylinder and an outlet port for connection to a wheel brake cylinder, a differential piston cooperates with a first annular valve seat arranged in a first passage between the inlet and outlet ports, and an inertia-controlled valve element contained within a valve chamber formed in a second passage between the inlet and outlet ports to cooperate with a second annular valve seat fixed to one end portion of the piston. The one end portion of the piston is formed therein with a passage arranged to permit fluid flow passing through the second valve seat between the valve chamber and the outlet port. In such an arrangement, the valve element rests in place to be spaced from the second valve seat when the deceleration is below a predetermined value, the valve element being engaged with the second valve seat when subjected to the deceleration in excess of the predetermined value, and the piston is displaced against a spring load acting thereto to increase the space between the second valve seat and the valve element before the deceleration reaches the predetermined value under a heavy loaded condition of the vehicle.

A hydraulic brake control assembly for a vehicle having a master cylinder and a brake wheel cylinder including a housing having an inlet port which is in communication with a master cylinder and an outlet port which is in communication with a brake wheel cylinder, a proportioning valve positioned within said housing and which includes a slidable valve piston for effecting proportioning operation, a plunger positioned within the housing and coaxial with the valve piston, a first spring positioned between the valve piston and the plunger for biasing the valve piston in a direction wherein the proportioning valve is positioned in an open position, the housing including a first chamber formed therein in communication with an inlet port and in communication with the outlet port by way of the proportioning valve and a second chamber communication with the inlet port, the valve piston having an effective pressure receiving area which is exposed to the hydraulic fluid within the first chamber so that the valve piston is urged against the first spring, the plunger having an effective pressure receiving area which is exposed to the hydraulic fluid within the second chamber so that the plunger is urged in a direction in which the first spring is compressed and a G-valve positioned between the inlet port and the second chamber within the housing for interrupting fluid communication therebetween in response to a preset deceleration of the vehicle.

Hydraulic brake inertia-controlled proportioning valve

In a fluid pressure control valve unit, a pair of first and second partition members are assembled within a housing to subdivide the interior of the housing into first and second chambers and to provide a space between the partition members. The first chamber is in open communication with an outlet port for connection to rear wheel brake cylinders, and the second chamber is in open communication with an inlet port for connection to a master cylinder. Assembled within the first chamber are a stepped piston and a control valve assembly cooperable with the piston. The piston extends through the first partition member into the space, and a control plunger is slidably disposed within an axial bore of the second partition member to provide a third chamber opening toward the second chamber. An inertia-control valve assembly is disposed within the second chamber to control the pressure in the third chamber in accordance with the rate of deceleration. In such arrangement, one of the partition members is provided at its peripheral portion with a fluid communication passage between the first and second chambers.

Fluid pressure control valve unit of the inertia-controlled type

A pressure control valve assembly in a split brake system having two separate pressure lines comprises two valve pistons subjected to pressure from separate pressure sources so as to control the outlet pressure admitted to the respective rear wheel brakes. The valve assembly further comprises two movable members each in alignment with each of two valve pistons and subjected to the pressure of two pressure lines at each end thereof and two springs each interposed between a respective piston and movable member for normally urging the piston in the valve closing direction. The hydraulic failure of one of two pressure lines causes the movable member to move in the direction wherein no biasing force of the spring may be imparted to the valve piston.

Pressure control valve assembly for brake systems

An improved hydraulic brake control assembly for automotive vehicles having a proportioning valve for regulating the hydraulic pressure applied to the rear wheel brakes from a master brake cylinder in accordance with vehicular load. A control device responsive to vehicular deceleration and hydraulic pressure from the master brake cylinder controls the proportioning valve by a slidable piston of the control device applying an urging force on the proportioning valve varied in response to the hydraulic pressure applied to the slidable piston. The hydraulic pressure from the master brake cylinder applied to the slidable piston is modified by first valve, a second pressure-sensitive valve and an orifice. The first valve controls admission of the hydraulic pressure to the slidable piston in response to predetermined vehicular deceleration, the orifice and the second valve being in parallel, the hydraulic pressure normally being supplied to the slidable piston through the orifice. The normally-closed second valve is opened when a predetermined hydraulic pressure difference is reached on opposing sides of the orifice for supplying the hydraulic pressure to the slidable piston without pressure throttling by the orifice. The proportioning valve therefore operates to provide a proper hydraulic pressure to the rear wheel brakes in accordance with different vehicular loads and braking applications.
