A brake operation unit includes, for example, a master cylinder that movably houses a piston moving in connection with an operation member; an electric discharging unit including a motor and a discharging mechanism that is caused to discharge a working fluid by operation of the motor; and a reaction force applying mechanism that applies a reaction force to the operation member. A second central axis of the motor is separated from a first central axis of the master cylinder, and intersects a direction parallel to the first central axis. When viewed in a direction parallel to the second central axis, the first central axis is located between the second central axis and the reaction force applying mechanism.

Brake operation unit

A vibration absorbing apparatus is provided which includes a vibration absorbing mechanism equipped with a spring mechanism and an elastic member. The elastic member is made of a non-metallic material and of a cylindrical shape. The elastic member is arranged coaxially with the spring mechanism and has a spring constant in a radial direction thereof which is lower than that in an axial direction thereof. The spring mechanism works to absorb vibration applied thereto in the axial direction thereof. The elastic member works to absorb vibration applied thereto in the radial direction thereof.

Vibration absorbing apparatus

A hydraulic braking system has a brake actuator including hydraulic pumps that generate a W/C pressure by sucking and discharging a brake fluid from a master reservoir, and suck the brake fluid discharged from the W/C side for decompressing a W/C pressure during anti-lock braking. Further, open-when-self-priming valves that suck the brake fluid by themselves from the master reservoir in the hydraulic pumps are provided. Further, an accumulator is provided in a pipe connecting the hydraulic pumps and the W/C, and an accumulation to the accumulator is performed by the hydraulic pumps. Then, communication and cut-off of a pipe connected to the accumulator are controlled by lower limit indicating valves.

Hydraulic braking system

A pressure control reservoir for a vehicle brake system is disposed in a hydraulic line extending from a master cylinder to a wheel cylinder through a pump. The pressure control reservoir includes a check valve which consists of a valve seat and a valve. The check valve is closed when an excessive pressure of brake fluid produced by the master cylinder. The valve is stationary. The valve seat is moved in response to an elevated level of the pressure of brake fluid into engagement with the valve, so that the check valve is closed. With these arrangements, the check valve is closed before a piston starts to move to change the volume of a reservoir chamber, thus permitting the volume of the brake fluid required to close the check valve to be decreased, which minimizes the uncomfortable feeling given to a driver of the vehicle when actuating the brakes.

A braking device for a vehicle is provided which includes a braking simulator, thus resulting in improved mountability of the braking device in the vehicle. The braking device is designed to permit component parts of the hydraulic booster to slide on one another in response to a braking effort on a brake pedal, thereby absorbing an undesirable load on the braking device and also ensuring the stability in operating the brake pedal. This results in improved durability and maneuvering feeling of the braking device.

A braking device for a vehicle is provided which includes a hydraulic booster to make wheels of the vehicle produce frictional braking force, a solenoid valve installed in a flow path connecting between a brake fluid accumulator and a servo chamber of the hydraulic booster, and a collision avoidance controller. When determining that there is a risk of a collision with an obstacle, the collision avoidance controller opens the first solenoid valve to achieve emergency braking to minimize the risk of the collision. Basically, the emergency braking is achieved only using the solenoid valve, thus allowing an emergency avoidance mechanism of the braking device to be constructed with a minimum of equipment and facilitating the mountability of the braking device in vehicles.

An electromagnetic valve has an electromagnetic coil supported by a cylindrical yoke, a movable armature within a sleeve, a stator core fixed to one end of the sleeve, wherein one end of the stator core protrudes from an end of the yoke. A pressure sensor is attached to a protruding end of the stator core. A magnetic flux limiting portion is formed in the stator core at such a position which is on a side of the protruding end of the stator core toward the pressure sensor. A magnetic flux flow to the pressure sensor is limited by the magnetic flux limiting portion, so that a precise detection by the sensor can be achieved even when the sensor is arranged closer to the electromagnetic coil.

Electromagnetic valve and method for manufacturing the same

In a disc brake apparatus, by means of an actuator which operates in accordance with an operation force, a braking piston fitted into a cylinder portion of a caliper is axially driven so as to push a pad toward a disc rotor. A friction force in a circumferential direction of the disc rotor between the pad and the disc rotor is taken out as an anchor load, and is converted to a servo load by means of a servomechanism. The servo load is applied to the braking piston. The servomechanism is equipped with a hydraulic mechanism (a pressure-reducing control valve, a pressure-increasing control valve, and a reservoir tank) capable of increasing or decreasing the servo load. An electric controller controls the hydraulic mechanism in accordance with the operation force and the anchor load.

Disc brake apparatus

A combined service and parking brake apparatus includes a piston which forms a hydraulic chamber within a cylinder portion; a brake lining which, when pressed by the piston, brakes rotation of a disc rotor; a second piston which divides the hydraulic changer into a first hydraulic chamber and a second hydraulic chamber; a friction clutch which allows rotation of the second piston when the second piston is held at its home position and which disables rotation of the second piston when the second piston moves by a predetermined distance toward the second hydraulic chamber; an adjuster including an internal-thread portion and an external-thread portion and adapted to adjust the clearance between the pistons in accordance with the amount of wear of the brake lining; and a changeover valve for establishing and shutting off the communication between the first hydraulic chamber and the second hydraulic chamber.

Combined service and parking brake apparatus

A wedge-operated brake apparatus includes a piston for generating a braking force when axially driven, an actuator for generating a linear brake-actuating input, and a wedge transmission mechanism for converting the linear brake-actuating input into a brake-actuating output in the axial direction of the piston. The brake-actuating output is transmitted to the piston so as to drive the piston to thereby generate a braking force. The wedge transmission mechanism includes a first plate member which moves together with the piston, a second plate member disposed in opposition to the first plate member and fixedly secured to a housing, a wedge member disposed between the first and second plate members and engaging respective engaging surfaces of the first and second plate members via rollers, and a holder for rotatably holding the rollers and holding the wedge member while allowing linear movement of the wedge member. When the wedge member moves linearly, the holder moves, while being guided by the first and second plate members.

Wedge-operated brake apparatus

In a pump equipment having plural rotary pumps, the respective discharge ports of the rotary pumps are located at the points which are nearly symmetrical with respect to the center axis of the drive shaft to counterbalance each other the respective reaction forces against the drive shaft to be produced by the high pressure at the respective discharge ports. The respective discharge fluid conduits, in case of the first and second pumps, are located at the points which are opposite each other, more preferably, different at an angle of 180 degrees each other, with respect to the center axis of the drive shaft to limit the bending of the drive shaft. As a method for assembling the pump equipment, the peripheral border between respective cylindrical members piled up for constituting the casing is tentatively welded by laser beam at first and, then, all around the peripheral borders are finally welded.

Pump equipment with plural rotary pumps and method for assembling same

In a pump equipment having one or more rotary pumps for hydraulic circuit, the intake port is communicated with the shaft hole for inserting the drive shaft and fluid flows through the shaft hole to a fluid groove provided in inner surfaces of the pump room for the purpose of lubrication. To prevent fluid leakage to outside, first and second oil seals are disposed for filling the clearance between the drive shaft and the shaft hole and, preferably, a communicating conduit is provided between the first and second oil seals to transmit the fluid leaked through the first oil seal to a low pressure fluid conduit of the hydraulic circuit. In particular, in the pump equipment having plural rotary pumps, the respective discharge ports of the rotary pumps are located at the points which are nearly symmetrical with respect to the center axis of the drive shaft to counterbalance each other, the reaction forces against the drive shaft to be produced by the high pressure at the respective discharge ports.

Pump equipment and method for assembling same

The present invention to provides a drum brake that generates the same braking force when a vehicle moves forward and backward. A first lever is connected to a second lever by a strut. A fourth lever provided with an anchor member and a third lever for connecting the fourth lever and the first lever to the end of the fourth lever) opposite to the anchor member across a screw which is the center of swing of the fourth lever. Accordingly, when the vehicle moves forward, an anchor load is received by the anchor member and the second lever. When the vehicle moves backward, the anchor load is received by the anchor member and the first lever.
