An ink jet recording apparatus contains a conveyer which conveys a recording medium, the conveyer having conveyance members on which the recording medium is mounted; a recorder which jets ink onto the recording medium being conveyed; and a fixer which fixes the ink landed on the recording medium. The ink is curable by a predetermined energy ray. The fixer irradiates the ink on the recording medium with the predetermined energy ray. The conveyer passes the recording medium for conveyance between the conveyance members and moves the recording medium in respective planes by movement of the conveyance members.

Ink jet recording apparatus

Provided are an inkjet recording device and an inkjet recording method that enable more reliable recording of an image at a desired position of a recording medium. The inkjet recording device is provided with: a recording means that discharges ink onto a recording medium; a conveying means that performs a conveying operation in which the recording medium is placed at a predetermined placement position upon a conveying member and the conveying member is caused to move in a revolving manner; a recording control means that causes the recording means to perform a recording operation in which an image is recorded onto the recording medium, which moves as a result of the conveying operation, by discharging ink thereto in accordance with image data; and a position-correspondence-information acquiring means that acquires position correspondence information corresponding to the position of the conveying member. The recording control means causes the recording means to start the recording operation when the position of the conveying member corresponding to the position correspondence information acquired by the position-correspondence-information acquiring means matches a recording-operation start position set in advance.

Inkjet recording device and inkjet recording method

An inkjet printing apparatus includes a conveyer conveying a printing medium; an image former discharging ink on the printing medium; a mover relatively moving the image former and the conveyer; a first detector; a second detector; and a controller controlling image formation. The mover performs a first move operation to expand a distance between the image former and the printing medium and a second move operation to expose the conveying surface. Upon detection of an abnormal conveyance state of the printing medium by the first detector, the conveyer stops conveyance and the mover performs the first move operation. After stopping the conveyance and the first move operation, the controller checks for the contact of the printing medium and the image former during the second move operation based on the detection results at the second detector, and only if no contact is determined, the mover performs the second move operation.

Inkjet printing apparatus and method for controlling inkjet printing apparatus

An image forming apparatus includes the following. A recorder applies a colorant to a recording medium in accordance with a recording operation of a plurality of recording devices. An image-formation controller instructs the recorder to form a combined image including a plurality of normal images and a test image on the recording medium, the normal image being laid out in a recording area on the recording medium. A reader reads the images formed on the recording medium. A failure detector detects a recording operation failure of any of the recording devices based on the test image read by the reader. A determiner determines the quality of each of the normal images based on the detected result of the recording operation failure by the failure detector and positional information on the images in the combined image.

Image forming apparatus and quality determination method

An ink jet recording apparatus including: a head that ejects droplets of ink; a flow passage portion; and a temperature adjustment unit. The flow passage portion supplies the ink to the head. The flow passage portion includes, in a part thereof, a reservoir unit that reserves the ink. The temperature adjustment unit is capable of adjusting temperatures of the flow passage portion and the head independently of each other. The temperature adjustment unit controls the temperatures of the flow passage portion and the head so that the ink in the head becomes liquid from solid after ink in the flow passage portion is turned to liquid from solid.

An inkjet recording device includes an image forming drum, a recording medium supplying section, a recording head which ejects ink onto a recording medium, a first heating unit which heats the recording medium held on the drum before image recording, a second heating unit which heats the drum downstream of the position at which the recording medium is outputted after image recording and upstream of the supplying section, a heating-unit temperature detector, a drum temperature detector, and a heating control section. The heating control section performs heat control of the first heating unit such that the temperature detected by the heating-unit temperature detector falls within a predetermined set temperature range, and performs heat control of the second heating unit such that the temperature detected by the drum temperature detector falls within a predetermined set temperature range.

An inkjet recording apparatus includes: exchangeable first and second ink cartridges; a recording head which jets ink to a recording medium; an intermediate tank which receives the ink from the ink cartridge and supplies the ink to the recording head; a detecting sensor which detects whether ink residual quantity of an ink cartridge is not more than predetermined quantity based on ink quantity in the intermediate tank; a switching section which, if the ink residual quantity is not more than the predetermined quantity, switches the ink cartridge for supplying the ink to the intermediate tank; a first detector which detects the reset of the first ink cartridge; a second detector which detects the reset of the second ink cartridge; and a controller which, if the first ink cartridge is reset, controls the switching section to switch the second ink cartridge to the first ink cartridge, for supplying the ink.
