An ink contains a medium, a coloring agent, a fixing polymer, and one or more kinds of polymers other than the fixing polymer. The coloring agent is dissolved or dispersed in the medium. The fixing polymer has a glass-transition temperature higher than the ordinary temperature and is dispersed in the medium. The one or more kinds of polymers each have a glass-transition temperature higher than the ordinary temperature and are dissolved or dispersed in the medium. The fixing polymer is higher in glass-transition temperature than 80 mass % or more of the one or more kinds of polymers contained in the ink and each having a glass-transition temperature higher than the ordinary temperature.

Ink, ink set and printer

A printing apparatus includes an ink ejector, a dryer, and a melting device. The ink ejector ejects an ink to an object on which a printed record is to be produced. The ink contains a medium and a fixing polymer. The dryer heats the object to expedite evaporation of the medium. The melting device is configured to irradiate the ink on the object with ultraviolet rays to subject the ink to heat that causes the fixing polymer to melt and to fix the ink to the object accordingly.

Printing device

An image forming apparatus includes a recording head, a wiper and a head mounting member. The recording head is provided with a nozzle area where a number of ink ejection ports are opened downward. The wiper is configured to move in a wiping direction while coming into contact with the nozzle area to wipe the nozzle area. The head mounting member is provided on a side surface of the recording head in the wiping direction. The surface of the head mounting member has water repellency higher than the side surface of the recording head. A recess portion and a protrusion are alternatively provided in a lower end portion of the head mounting member.

Ejecting unit and image forming apparatus

A liquid ejecting device includes a flow path member, an actuator, a pump, and a controller. The flow path member includes a flow path configured to direct flow of a pseudoplastic liquid through the flow path member. The actuator is configured to cause droplets to be ejected. The pump is configured to cause the liquid to flow sequentially through a supply reservoir, a plurality of supply manifolds, a plurality of supply flow paths, and a plurality of pressure chambers. The controller is configured to adjust a flow rate of the liquid to a prescribed target flow rate. The flow path has a flow path shape in which an average viscosity of the liquid in the plurality of supply flow paths is less than or equal to half an average viscosity of the liquid in the plurality of supply manifolds when the flow rate is equal to the target flow rate.

Liquid ejecting device and liquid ejecting method

A piezoelectric actuator includes a common electrode on a piezoelectric layer at a first side adjacent to a first surface and extends over a plurality of piezoelectric elements. A plurality of first individual electrodes is on the piezoelectric layer at a second side adjacent to a second surface. Each of the plurality of first individual electrodes is at a piezoelectric element of the plurality of piezoelectric elements, and are not electrically connected together. A first insulating layer is on the common electrode at the first side and extends over the plurality of piezoelectric elements. A plurality of second individual electrodes is on the first insulating layer at the first side. Each of the plurality of second individual electrodes is at a piezoelectric element of the plurality of piezoelectric elements, and overlap centers of the plurality of first individual electrodes. The plurality of second individual electrodes are electrically connected together.

Piezoelectric actuator, liquid discharge head, and recording device

A first flow path member of a liquid ejection head includes a plurality of pressurizing chambers respectively connected to a plurality of ejection holes, a plurality of first individual flow paths and a plurality of second individual flow paths which are respectively connected to the plurality of pressurizing chambers, and a first common flow path connected in common to the plurality of first individual flow paths and the plurality of second individual flow paths. The pressurizing chamber, the first individual flow path, the first common flow path, and the second individual flow path configure an annular flow path. When Tdenotes a resonance period of the pressurizing chamber and Tdenotes a time required for a pressure wave to circulate once around the annular flow path, a decimal place value of T/Tis &#x215b; to &#x215e;.
